Today I had the goats cheese & beetroot stack as I wasn't very Hungry... please put this on as a main course , it was delicious! And my daughter had a lovely breakfast everything was fresh. Only popped in for a spot of lunch. Food was great, nothing fancy but lovely pub grub. Service was excellent, greeted on arrival, the girl behind the bar was welcoming and polite. The pub itself was very nice, plenty of character but modern as well. If that makes sense. I wasn’t drinking but a good range of real ales available. Well worth a look.

Only been twice whilst seeing mates in glos, staff were super friendly and everything was well presented. I usually go to the other well known pub when visiting Glos but I think this will become my go to place as tucked away and very relaxed for a Saturday night.

Went to the fountain for lunch before the rugby. My husband had a very good portion of fish and chips and I had the vegetarian chilli. The chilli was superb a variety of vegetables all home cooked with rice and a home made salsa. Very friendly staff and lovely atmosphere.

Staying in Gloucester for the weekend, we ate our main meal of the day there on all three days. Very friendly staff, atmospheric pub/restaurant with inside and outside dining. Long time since we've had basket meals. Great to experience them again. Creamy garlic mushrooms were exceptionally fine starters! Highly recommended.

This is a lovely place, Staff friendly and helpful, Food is really nice, Atmosphere nice, seating indoors is nice and outdoors also in the court yard, This was first built in the 16th century making it one of the city's oldest ale-houses and was the city's last brew house in the 1950s, This is set in Gloucester just off a side street, It was re-built in the 19th century, So after a walk around Gloucester nice place to relax and enjoy a drink and food, Will be going back and definitely recommend. So now using this lovely place at least once a week it never fails on serving brilliant food, last week we had the steak offer for two people steak and a bottle of wine 🍷 for £30 the steaks were cooked to perfection. Last night jacket potato 🥔 was really good and my partner had cottage pie said was good also, the staff never fault on their service and being friendly and helpful and atmosphere remains lovely, no matter when go in always busy and tables reserved. 5 stars ✨ So 13/10/2022 got to say another lovely meal and brilliant service and warm welcome.. Another lovely meal and service, atmosphere really nice and again so helpful to accommodate my anxiety 30/12/22.. Booked a table here for 11 people for last night 20/01/2023. Pre-ordered food and have to say they were busy but got food out exactly as ordered and nice and hot and no one had to wait was brilliant service and food and no complaints.. We went in tonight 06/07/2023 and found that girl serving behind bar not as friendly and welcoming as the other staff. We went to sit outside but discovered nice little comfortable inside seating area with comfortable sofas and couple tables to eat at. Was really nice and relaxing this is situated out door and through courtyard.

Having eaten here many times now I ca heartily recomend this establishment. Good pub grub, cooked well. A nice selection of ales, wines and spirits, with a friendly, efficient bar team snd a beautiful courtyard. It's a ten from me. Bonus feature dog friendly plus.

Place was really busy for Sunday lunch, and after the meal - I am not surprised why... Even though the place was packed and most of the tables left were reserved, the youngest lady behind the bar managed to find me a space... I will visit again for sure...

Came here multiple times to eat and drink during a week’s holiday in Gloucester. The Sunday roast was fantastic and great value for money. Lunch options were also delicious and good value. Pub is very dog friendly, staff love dogs and go out of their way to say hello and bring water and biscuits. We even had ours with us when we had Sunday lunch inside. Great little pub with lovely local vibes, would definitely go back!

Ok so no 'craft kegged beer'. At all. I'd dock half a star if I could...I missed the international vibe. This is the only negative in an otherwise stunning pub with really tasty beer served in tip top condition. Elegant and tastefully decorated. Food smells lovely and menu tempting! Really homely and cavernous! Friendly and welcoming staff. Good service. Just opposite an absolutely stunning cathedral.

Like most treasures, this place is hidden but well worth finding. Just a sign above an alley, but a fantastic pub lies behind. We had a lovely meal there, the staff were super friendly, straight away offering a bowl of water for our dog. The beer was great and the meal was excellent, we only had sandwiches, but they were filled to bursting, with a tasty side salad and a really large portion of chips. Excellent value for money. I can't really recommend this place highly enough..

What a great historical building and pub, apparently dating back to the 1600's or so, wow. Decided to go here for some "true cask ale" and it delivered as their ales were stunning. Thanks to the Gloucester Lock keeper who recommended it as he was a real ale drinker too and had been here before..👍. The staff were friendly, welcoming, cheerful and attentive even though they were extremely busy. We ordered two portion of chunky chips to go with our ales and these arrived within 10 minutes or so, wow. They were piping hot, creamy and soft on the inside yet crispy on the outside. We really enjoyed our drinks and chips and definitely reccomend The Fountain Inn and a "must visit" is worth it. Such an amazing historical building inside and out. Thanks to all the great staff for making our visit a memorable afternoon

Love it as a pub. Summer courtyard etc. Sunday roast was good if a little 'old school' with lashings of bisto. Rest of menu also very pubby.

Amazing friendly service, delicious food and a great selection of beer and ciders on draught! Definitely have to book a table next time but there's no surprise why they are as busy as they are 👍

What an absolutely wonderful pub. Slightly off the main street is a traditional pub. It has a great selection of drinks and the menu left is questioning what to have. The specials were very tasty and cooked really well. General presentation of the pub was fantastic, staff were welcoming and friendly, and the bathrooms were immaculate.
