Lovely little cafe in a lovely little village. The service was excellent as was the breakfast. Looking at the menus it seems they have a few different themed nights as well as a roast every Sunday.
If you're a vegetarian it seems there's an option or 2 on every menu.
I would give them 6 stars if there was an option!
It's a lovely little cafe with great food and such friendly staff. We arrived here almost near their closing time but they were more than happy to accommodate us. We had chicken cheese panini, fish burger, onion rings, beers and hot chocolate. Everything was brought out promptly and tasted delicious. The hot chocolate was especially good, very chocolaty, just how it should be! The place is perfect for a meal if you're in the area.

It is a busy but efficient place. No frills just good food.
We had an awesome last-day-in-the-lakes breakfast with our parents, who loved the simplicity of the setup and friendly staff.
The hash browns (😗👌) and coffee were superb.
As we left, we saw a couple getting their jacket potatoes, and my gosh, they looked amazing, too.
The food is local, beautifully made, fresh. The service is warm, welcoming and very friendly. Dogs are made very welcome too. I would recommend highly for any of food stops throughout the day. Excellent a fantastic place.
Had a great bacon and egg muffin here plus coffee. Great place for takeaway items too. Spacious inside, lovely and clean. Staff friendly and helpful.
A lovely place to eat after a good walk around Helvellyn. Really good value for money and friendly staff. Nice outside area with lots of space for groups 🙂 I had the large breakfast and wasn't disappointed. Recommend adding the black pudding which is mint 😉
I visited here after completing ''The Ullswater Way''. I was tired and starving and was welcomed with a warm reception from the staff. The food was unexpectedly good, the best hummus I've ever tasted and the atmosphere and facilities were great. Very much a gem of a place.
We had vegan flatbread, really tasteful - will buy it again. Soup of the day was good as well, but lacked the finishing “spice” touch. Great service.
SO worth stopping in for lunch/tea/cake (or all if you're like us!).
Amazing food, staff were lovely.
Dog friendly. Great veggie options.
