This is a review for the café (not the campsite). This was a lovely and unexpected find on a secluded and remote beach. There is really good coffee and tea and a great selection of cakes, pastries and vegetarian pasties and the cafe feels really welcoming and friendly. The shop is mainly aimed at people using the campsite, but it's still worth having a browse. If you've just visited the water falls (about 4 miles up the road) or have driven down to walk on the beach this cafe is definitely recommended. It's also dog friendly.
Thoroughly excellent camp site - absolutely stunning setting with mountains to one side and a gorgeous bay to the other. Very little else around, it's a small way on from the famous fairy pools, but few people seem to venture past. Tons of great walks. The camp site itself is large (so a long walk to the shower and toilet blocks if you're the other end of camp) but has lots of features, hills and undulations, so it's not just one big field. Really lovely cafe and shop too.
Wowwww! The most beautiful campsite we have ever stayed at!
No reservations, but they claim to be able to accommodate everyone who shows up. Long single-track road to get there. Lots of potholes as you get closer.
Check in at the cafe (and order a homemade bread to pick up warm the next morning!). Then pick your own spot.
Toilets cleaned twice a day!
There are at least two hikes from the campsite. We walked out to the headland... breathtaking! Had to cross several streams running down the slopes, some quite substantial, but nobody fell in. Ruins about 5 km into the hike. There's a lot of water, on the trail and around it. Waterproof boots necessary!
We also saw people kayaking and going out to climb.
Our biggest mistake was not spending a second night!
We stopped at the Cafe while on a tour and it was lovely, one of our favorite Cafe stops over our 5 day tour. The food and coffee were delicious and the owner was a sweetheart. We would go out of our way to come here again. Highly recommend.
A lovely campsite on the beach edge. Pick your own pitch so we had one right by the water and could hear the waves crashing all night. It's a large site with plenty of space. Really clean facilities. The cafe has good coffee and freshly baked pastries. The staff we encountered were incredibly helpful. Very dog friendly and ours enjoyed a run on the beach too.
What a find! After walking the fairy ponds follow the signs to this wonderful spot! The coffee was outstanding! We sampled some of the baked goods and much to our delight they were all amazing! Make sure you say hello to Duke the friendly dog!
We stayed on this camp site on our trip to the Isle of Sky! It has Mountain View’s, sand and sea views right from where you are parked. There is waste disposal, bins, and a washing up area which is a great addition. There is also a little cafe/ bakery with loads of adventure gear which is great if you forget anything or need something for your trip. Would definitely return.
My girlfriend and i had a very pleasant stay here. Everything was perfect and beautiful, the staff was friendly and the showers and toilets were very clean.
A variety of local beers would have been perfect too, but it's fine and it remains family friendly
This beautiful coastal campsite is a nature lover's dream! Surrounded by breathtaking scenery and numerous great hikes, it's a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts.
The campsite facilities are excellent, providing all the essentials for a comfortable stay. However, be prepared for midges, as they can be quite pesky during certain times of the year. Additionally, there's no signal in the area, so it's wise to download everything you need in advance.
The serene atmosphere and stunning surroundings make this campsite an ideal destination for a peaceful and immersive outdoor experience.
Incredibly charming and stunningly beautiful camp site. Immediately welcoming, relaxing and a well-run establishment.
Not all the pitches are totally flat, but you can find flat ground and this doesn’t take away from the place.
Tasty coffee (not doing it justice here), shop with all required essentials and delicious food.
Staff wonderfully polite. Wish I could have stayed longer!
Loved our holiday here. We just stayed for two nights but would have loved to stay for longer. Only draw back is the road in and out of the site.
So very peaceful and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Showers and toilets were very clean. Views were breathtaking 🏕🌄
Glenbrittle Campsite, Isle of Skye. If you’re looking for remote camping but being surrounded by stunning Scottish area of outstanding beauty and activities, then this is for you! Super staff, super site, super facilities! We were here 5 years ago, the area hasn’t changed but the site has upgraded. I had a super stay - the staff should be comedian’s as they were so hospitable and friendly. 😊🙏🙌❤️🏕 Looking forward to going back again someday.
The location is spectacular and the facilities are well looked after. Great showers and and the cafe is an unexpected treat ! The best place on Skye to really get away and relax and take it all in with the sounds of the sea to lull you to sleep 👍
Stunning scenery and wildlife. We chose a non electric pitch and the freedom and choice was excellent. We decided on a pitch near the back fence line away from the beach side to avoid traffic and weather which worked well. The pitch itself was large, could have easily fit another van/tent on.
Facilities were okay, 3 of 5 showers working in each block which given the number of pitches seems low. Similar story with number of toilets as well, always busy in the blocks, mostly with people waiting.
Cafe on site is handy, albeit pricey however given the location and lack of other options nearby it's ideal.
Would visit again, primarily for the location.
Spent two nights here in my van. Shower was clean and lovely and hot. Vegan muffins and great coffee. It could get quite busy in the cafe and reception but it didn't seem to phase the super team. Beautiful beach views one side and breathtaking mountains the other. I was alone so only 12 pounds a night which is well worth it compared to inferior campsites at twice the price!
You will not find a more friendly and relaxed campsite on Skye. Owners count on the honesty of the guests, so please respect this place to preserve its magic! We arrived in the peak season and we had no problem finding a decent spot to pitch our tent. We will be coming back here on our next trip to the Isle of Skye.
Great campsite, surrounded by raw natural beauty. It has expanded somewhat since the last time I visited to cater for campervans and motorhomes. Used to feel like Scotland's best kept secret but now the cat is definitely out of the bag. Nice coffee shop. Avoid having a shower at busy times unless you can handle a cold one.
Lovely site right on the beach surrounded by mountains, accessed by a busy single track road
Lots of open grassy pitches
Facilities were clean and modern but there was quite a queue for the showers as only 3 were working, showers were hot.
No phone signal and not site WiFi, so you can enjoy switching off from society.
