Really great small coffee and brunch place . We found it by accident with my partner and couldn’t be happier the food was delicious in reasonable prices and the staff was really friendly . Spanish stack is my recommendation would def visit back 10/10 .
Our first time visiting here. The food was amazing 👏 The cafe is nice and cosy. They have a large outdoor seating area also. I have a breakfast quesadilla, my partner, the spanish stack, both very nice and reasonably priced for what get! We will definitely be back 👌
Great experience here. We were able to get a table last minute for brunch, so we were very lucky. Food was delish - but the art they did on it?...how beautiful! Almost makes you not want to eat it, lol. Definitely would come back when in the area.
What a fab wee place. The staff are really friendly and accommodating. The menu has lots of nice options at very reasonable prices. Personally I chose the chicken mayo and soup combo. The sandwich was delicious. Beautiful soft bread. Then there’s the soup. Wow! Tomato and pepper. Off the scale tasty. The best soup I’ve tasted. So tangy and full of flavour. First time visited today, we will definitely be back as a family again soon.

This is one of the first places I visited in Shawlands, and I haven't stopped going there for brunch. Whenever a friend wants to meet up, I make sure to bring them to Shawlands just so we can have brunch at Hugs and Mugs.
Their Eggs Benedic, Eggs Mexicana, tomato soup with sourdough, and their pancakes are all amazing. My favorite choice is the Eggs Mexicana because it perfectly combines the texture of the poached eggs with the spiciness of the sausage and the sriracha sauce on the side. The bread they use to accompany the eggs is crunchy and soft, buttery. The food feels so fresh and savory.
The quality of the coffee is quite good. I personally like my capuccinos having more body, but theirs is so good you won't want to ruin it by adding sugar. The texture and flavor of the coffee has been consistent every time I've been there.
As for juices, I wish there would be organic or natural choices since I don't personally like juices from concentrate, but if you're not nitpicky about this, you'll have a an amazing time alone, with loved ones or with friends.
The staff is incredible attentive and kind. I also enjoy the music selection and the entire ambience, both inside and outside, when the weather allows it.
I visited Hugs and Mugs whilst on vacation in Scotland, and was given excellent service. My server was kind enough to make me a raspberry Nutella latte which was immaculate. Really good. Can get a little busy. But worth it.
Dropped in here for breakfast when two other nearby places (with high ratings) eat said we'd have to wait 45mins (!) for a table.
Walked straight in, quick friendly service and food brought out swiftly. It was lovely, well-prepared and tasty. V good coffee. I'd really recommend.
Fantastic little quaint place located right next to Queen’s Park. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a nice breakfast/brunch and then a walk in the park! The interior is warm and cosy, staff were very attentive, and they have outdoor seating with patio heaters which is great for Autumn at the moment and if you have a dog. The avocado stack was really good-perfect poached eggs, fresh avocado, and the smoked salmon was decent quality. Good price for what you get, and the pancakes on offer also looked amazing! The full breakfast was also a really good standard, and everything was served hot. Only criticism would be that my iced latte was quite weak, so you would need an extra shot. But the flat white was very nice. There is parking just behind Hugs&Mugs but just be aware that you need to pay via an app online with your reg number as there isn’t a parking meter. Will definitely be going back again. 5 ⭐️

Cappuccino with coconut milk was rich and delicious. Gluten-free millionaires shortbread disappeared faster than you can say, "gluten-free millionaires shortbread". Great service from lovely relaxed but skilled staff. Great setting including outdoors seating in sun/ shade.
This place is a lovely, relaxing place to have coffee and cake. Today I had brunch. I chose the Mediterranean hummus toast which was very tasty. I will definitely be having it again. The staff are friendly and attentive and the latte art is amazing. I definitely recommend this place.
We visited the shop with my family. Everything we tried was spot on. Coffee, breakfast and dessert. The staff would get a 6 star review if that was allowed. The only thing that put me in the dilemma of wether it would be a total of 4 or 5 stars would be the space of the room, as it is a bit small, limiting the privacy between tables a little bit. Bit then again, sometimes, some things are not really in our hands and appreciated the fact that the business had thought of a take away orders window (like a drive thru, but for pedestrians), so it would get as less crowded as possible in the premises. Plus, there are additional seatings outside, if the weather is your ally. No, on a second thought, no second thoughts. 5 stars from me.

What a lovely place food is amazing I travel from west end to this little gem and also have told lots of friends about it the one thing I do like is the warm welcome you receive and the great banter from Stephanie Gallacher who goes all out to make you feel more than welcome the food 8s incredible tasty i will be bak when I can x
