Best Sushi in Glasgow ! Couldn’t recommend it more. Super authentic and the fish is top quality. Prices are really good for what you are getting. The service is really thoughtful and they are so welcoming in there! They even gave us extra complimentary sweets at the end :)

This is definitely a hidden gem. It's a little smaller than expected, so if you want to make sure you get a table, I'd book in advance. I took my partner here for our anniversary. We wanted something different for a change. We were greeted by a lovely lady who showed us to our seats. Good sized menu with plenty of choice. The food itself was nicely presented. As for the taste ? Delicious 😋 loved every bite. Again, the lady who greeted us also served us, and she was fantastic and very friendly. Its lovely quiet atmosphere, which is a nice change. All in 10/10, I would highly recommend it.

We wanted to experience authentic Japanese cuisine. We looked at the menu and wanted everything, I haven’t been so excited about a menu in a long time. Because we couldn’t choose, the chef ( Japanese and trained in Japan for 10 years) and waitress helped us choose, photos attached. The food looked awesome and tasted amaaaazing 🥳. Pure ingredients, pure flavour, pure presentation. You just have to go. PS the Sake sample trio was worth a try as well. They also use Gluten Free Soya Sauce

We had our socials at Donya Sushi and the owner was kind enough to let us use the private dining room to host our social. The seafood sukiyaki stood out the most for me as the ingredients are very fresh and Donya Sushi is one of the very few places in Glasgow that does sukiyaki. The staff were very friendly and helpful as well. I would highly recommend the place if you are going to dine with a big group of people.

Very cosy, quiet place I would recommend booking in advance as there’s not that many tables. My partner took us here for our anniversary and we did enjoy it. I started to panic a little as there were chopsticks on the table and I don’t know how to use them and I felt embarrassed asking for a fork but luckily, when the woman brought my katsu curry over she also brought a spoon so problem solved. Food was really nice, staff also really nice.

A hidden gem! Finding this little place was an absolute fluke using Google Maps for some nearby sushi after a fun day at the Stand Comedy Club…and what a lucky treat it proved to be. Almost completely hidden, off the main road, in amongst tenement buildings, and on a basement level down from street level…this place is an absolute gem! We quickly checked the impressive menu outside, popped our head inside, and when we saw how nice it was, we decided to sit in, rather than our planned quick takeaway. The place has apparently been recently refurbished and it’s beautiful. The styling is lovely; the lady proudly showed us all the colours, furniture and art pieces she picked out for the place. It’s a lovely, calm and pleasing place to sit inside. Then the food! Wow! Utterly delicious. Such fresh ingredients, superbly cooked, delicious, and beautifully presented. We will definitely be back!

Very nice service. Authentic japanese food in a quiet area. Nice decoration and clean atmosphere. A bit small sushi but so fresh and tasty. I love the Sencha tea and how they serve huge amount of pickle ginger. Credit card accepted.

Okay, so they have an excellent service. Very warm, helpful and welcoming. Place also very comfortable and serene with just perfect Japanese ambience. Neat and beautiful interior. I love their music which so calming and beautiful to listen to. The sushi were plated beautifully, fresh and delicious. Ramen also tasty, but maybe they can add more hotness level to the spicy beef one. I suggest to try the genmachi tea, a delicious umami drink of toasted rice. Price was fair and on the affordable side. Also, the chicken and beef are halal. Im full, happy and will definitely comeback.

Excellent and intimate Japanese restaurant off the beaten path. Very unassuming, service is fantastic. Best Japanese food I’ve had in Scotland in a long time. Next time I will be trying the Wagyu Yakiniku!

The service here is superb! Everyone was nice and helpful. Food was delicious and presentation was really nice :) food took some time, but it was very busy when we were there, so that’s understandable. Their sesame ice cream is a must try! I’d highly recommend the place.

Great place and friendly staff. Ramen was great with the steak! Sushi was really good too. Even the pickled ginger was especially good, and a lot of it provided 😋 Somewhat slow service if there are a few tables going. We can't recommend the grilled oysters with cheese, and bit too sweet and not "oystery" enough.

I have been to Don Ya twice now and the food, service and atmosphere is fantastic. The food is so fresh and very reasonably priced if you consider what you would pay anywhere else in Glasgow. It's my favourite place for Japanese food. Highly recommend.

Really excellent food and friendly service. Nicely presented and freshly made. You have to finish with Mochi ice cream! We had a sushi set, soft shell crab roll, and teriyaki chicken bowl. Perhaps the restaurant could be slightly warmer, but we’d definitely come back!

The place inside is very simple but they do have excellent food! Beautiful presentation of the dishes. Fabulous menu with so many options, oysters, sushi rolls, donburi, ramen, starters and exciting sushi sets. They have some Japanese beers (bottles) and also other bottled drinks. Friendly prices and great service. Can't wait to go back!
