Great cocktails. Good food. The mussels were good. The tatties were ok. The octopus was very tender but lacked flavor. Ambience was modern, nice but a bit generic and sterile.
The restaurant was very clean nice atmosphere and very easy to find.
Thank you Craig for been our server you went beyond you duties..
The food was fabulous value for money we spend £35 each. We did tapas style. We had oysters sardines fish, tacos, scallops mussels octopus chips peppers and courgettes and a dessert. The chips were fat, the oysters fresh and delicious the octopus was divine the fish tacos were good but for the price I should have chose another dish and been a bit more advantageous.
A great experience.
The food was amazing, the service not so great. Booked a table for 8pm had to wait 10 mins to be seated and then a further 20 for any orders to be taken. Ordered a couple of oysters, scallops, octopus and a couple of lobster rolls. We'd been in the restaurant for over an over before the first thing arrived, the oysters which is bizarre because there's no cooking involved. The scallops and octopus arrived at the same time then the lobster rolls arrived just as we were finishing those. The server did mention that the dishes are served tapas style and would arrive when they're ready which is fair enough if it's all small sharing plates but I think they'd be better just listing the menu as starters and mains and serve it like that rather than small and large plates. The lobster roll is main course size and the octopus and scallops starter size so having them all arrive at the table at roughly the same time just makes the whole thing a bit disjointed. Anyway apart from that and the really long wait to be served and any food to arrive at the table, the food itself was amazing and it's a very good menu. The oysters were fresh and tasty, the scallops and octopus were both cooked perfectly and really were top quality. The lobster roll was also excellent and packed full of lobster meat with a big portion of very good fries on the side. The only criticism would be that with the hot lobster roll, whenever I've had a really good one the roll is toasted, it just adds to it and makes it even better but they don't do that in here. The prices are fair especially considering the quality of the food and they serve really good cocktails too. As good as the food is I probably wouldn't rush back though, maybe for a lobster roll at lunchtime but not for dinner
Had a lovely meal in here tonight. I had oysters and lobster and my partner had fish and chips and fish tacos it was all amazing. Elinor looked after us really well and couldn't have been more attentive.
Visited for the first time last night, we had the hot lobster roll, mussels, and lobster Mac & Cheese. The mussels were definitely the favourite, absolutely gorgeous!
My only negative feedback was the upstairs feels like an unfinished after thought, it feels like the inside of an old cabin compared to downstairs which is lovely, two completely different vibes.
Friendly service, didn’t get the girls name (purple hair), knowledgable, quick service.
Good place if you fancy something a bit different, I’d recommend requesting a downstairs table if your planning on a date night/special occasion.
Was in last night, great atmosphere and the staff were lovely. The red-haired woman who served us (sorry I can't remember her name!) was very friendly and super knowledgeable about the food when we asked.
Fantastic food, service and ambience. Loved it.
Went here for a try at a seafood restaurant, was not disappointed. 4 adults and a 8 month old, the staff were lovely and took time to speak through the menu with us. We ordered a mix of small plates. The scallops were absolutely beautiful, the mussels again lovely, grilled octopus with nduja was unbelievable. My partner got a “small plate” of fish and chips and couldn’t finish it it was so big! Staff were very understanding when bringing plates out with a curious baby and catered for us well. The only thing I would say is that the table was too small with us all ordering small plates. It would’ve been a lot easier if the table was bigger so we didn’t have to keep the staff waiting while we re-arranged the table. Everything else was superb, and we can’t wait to go again!
On a solo trip working remote I needed a break from classic British fare and found this spot - they have an amazing selection of small seafood dishes - it’s sometimes hard to find a comfortable spot to eat alone but the wine, food (Crab salad! Mussels! Broccoli! ) and service were phenomenal. Will absolutely be back!
The prices are reasonable and the staff service is very good. The oysters, scallops tasted good, the lobster roll had a lot of lobster meat in it, but it was a bit salty, but it went well with the bread.
Visited today for the 1st time, food was absolutely beautiful, very fresh and tasty. Staff were extremely attentive and very friendly. Will def return.
Just had a lovely dinner here tonight. The food was delicious and arrived quickly. The waiting staff were so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back!
Delicious simple menu, well explained and beautifully cooked. Best scallops we have had for years.
The bread of the lobster roll is really tasty while the fish taco is a bit spicy. I give 5 stars and recommend this restaurant due to their service. The waitress is really considerate and helpful.
