Overall a pleasant dining experience. Dishes were hit and miss. Snails were rather blend and tasteless, raw oysters were small but tasty and fresh, scallops were good, however the ribeye steak was the highlight of all. Tender juicy well aged and perfectly grilled, one of the best in town. Most staff are friendly and attentive, we were late due to having too much fun in another cocktail bar prior to coming for dinner, the front door lady was not happy and you can tell from her face and her tone of voice, that made us felt uncomfortable and guilty, there were many empty tables and wasn’t that full while we arrived but she was putting on a wide smile when we left.
Very nice restaurant in Glasgow city centre.
We were staying a night en route elsewhere to catch up with family and glad we decided to go here.
Excellent food quality, albeit a little expensive, and definitely reserve on weekends, as space is limited.
We picked Gost for our last dinner on our 2 week trip all over Scotland and it was one of the BEST dinners we have ever had. We arrived a little later in the evening but they happily seated us. The decor is really great but most importantly the food was absolutely incredible! We started with the TRUFFLE, CHIVE & BONE MARROW CROQUETTE which was so so good. Order more than 1 or 2! - My wife had the FILLET with BLACK TRUFFLE & CHIVE BUTTER and I had the FORAGED MUSHROOM AND TRUFFLE RISOTTO. The risotto was very good. Wild and earthy flavours with that amazing 30-month Parmesan. Then my wife demands I try a piece of her steak. It was only 200g so I said no that's OK, you enjoy it. She said, "NO TRY THIS" and put a piece on my plate. Holy....can I swear on reviews? I don't think I can eat steak and be 100% happy ever again this was SO INSANELY GOOD! If you haven't had a meal that made you laugh it was so good, hopefully you have that experience soon. We also spoke to the head bartender, and I believe partner, who explained the incredible level of detail he put into their cocktails which were both very good. With so many restaurants in Glasgow it would have been easy to pick one those but we were SO HAPPY we ended our trip here. - Thanks!
Gost is an absolute gem in Glasgow city centre. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The interior is beautifully decorated, creating a cozy and intimate ambiance. The staff at Gost are incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel like a valued guest.
Now, let's talk about the food. The menu at Gost is a culinary delight. I was happy to know that they now have an halal menu Whether you're a meat lover or a vegetarian, Gost has something for everyone. Their extensive menu offers a wide variety of options, ensuring that there's always something new and exciting to try.
To top it all off, Gost also offers an impressive selection of wines and cocktails/mock tails that perfectly complement the meal.
Overall, Gost is a must-visit restaurant for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. With its impeccable service, delectable cuisine, and charming ambiance, you're guaranteed to have a fantastic time. Bon appétit!🍽️😊
Brilliant food and even better service! Visited for a special occasion and Gost didn’t disappoint. We got the Prestige Steak and Wine for Two for our main and it had to be one of the best steaks I’ve had. The team were very attentive and knowledgeable and the restaurant had a very plush yet cozy feel. Also the cocktails were fantastic, so good we didn’t even get a picture before we finished them. It is a bit more on the expensive side but worth it if you wanted to do something special!
Wow, they had the best espresso martini!!!
Food was delicious, but we felt that crisps were too oily (we appreciate they were with truffle and homemade) and ruined the amazing look of tar tartars. Scallops were absolutely delicious Fish was good as well.
We were slightly disappointed with the level of service as they didn’t remove the plates on time and they did not remove the wine glasses that we didn’t need.
Second time visiting Gōst for my girlfriend’s birthday dinner. Genuinely one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. Chateaubriand was cooked to perfection and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. Can tell the chef really cares about the quality of the food served. Will be back for sure!
This is a beautiful place to dine - immaculately decorated and tasteful. In fact, I hadn’t realised there were other people in when I walked though the door - the booths and decor mean there’s an atmosphere but it’s nice and quiet for chats.
The food is amazing - but the steak wasn’t the best I’ve had. The fries, onion rings, butter and risotto were all delicious, but I thought the steak was a little expensive for what it was.
Dessert was out of this world - highly recommend the chocolate pavé.
The service was incredible - personable, witty, friendly, attentive. Couldn’t fault it at all.
I’ll come back for sure but will probably order a different steak when I do.
Hats off to the interior designers. It’s warm, intimate, luxurious and modern. Really high end feel to this venue. Slightly out from the main city centre but worth the short walk. Bone marrow croquette as a small starter was fabulous. Ribeye was cooked (medium rare) to perfection and the pepper sauce was velvety smooth. Merlot and gin tonics were also quite lovely. Service was a bit hot and cold unfortunately and prices are at the high end. If you can get a deal or pre theatre it’s a really pleasant place to eat some amazing food
Incredible food, every bite was so delicious. The staff were super friendly and attentive, the cocktails were so amazing. It's gorgeous inside too! Would highly recommend
The most BEAUTIFUL restaurant in Glasgow for sure! What a gorgeous spot, it's like perfect for a special occasion or a date. The food is equally as incredible! Steak was perfect, the chicken and egg pasta as stunning, cocktails were delicious and honestly, everything was just great! You should definitely check it out.
We had a fantastic dining experience here shortly after their opening. Wonderful steak, delicious chips and cured beef. Their beef whipped butter is sublime! Excellent service too. Would highly recommend it.
What a place! Food and drink is exceptional!
We had the cured beef, olives and sourdough with the beef butter! Cured beef was really really packed with flavour and went nicely with the buttered sourdough! Great starter! 👌🏻
For mains I had the Gost burger that blows any burger I’ve had in Glasgow out the water! 🍔 the beef patty’s were succulent and full of flavour, as was the bacon mayo, and the cheese sauce was a real treat 👍🏻
My wife had the rump, it was full of flavour as you would expect from a quality rump steak, and it was cooked perfectly. 🥩 the bottle of Cotes du Rhône complimented the food lovely.
Desert I couldn’t quite squeeze in after overdoing it with the food and anything my wife didn’t eat, but I did have the salted caramel espresso martini that is a nice twist on the classic cocktail 🍸
Definitely will be returning to this place whether it’s for a sit down meal or to sit at the bar to enjoy some top cocktails! 👍🏻
Stunning decor with a great atmosphere. The team looking after us on the night were very attentive and recommended the T-bone steak which was unreal. Great variety of cocktails, perfect for post/pre dinner drinks. Overall, Fantastic experience!
Been here twice! The food was great! Steak was amazingly done! Only issue was not much options for good starters and the olives were not great! However everything was amazing!
Really enjoyed a special night out. The food was delicious and we were attended to with friendliness
Was in the mood for a steak and I had heard good things about this place, they did not disappoint. We both had fillet steaks, both cooked to perfection! One portion of chunky chips, one portion of skinny and one portion of onion rings. The wine paired up beautifully with everything.
