Amazing beer/beer cocktail! They really have good beer: you almost didn’t feel floating even if drinking much. Good atmosphere with some stuffs to play with your friends. Burger is okay for me, really in a big portion and I cannot finish it all :) also feeling the beef is kind of salty and dry for me with too much red cabbage. Overall a good place to have a drink late night!

Visited for the first time and only for drinks, we sat upstairs although we were offered to choose between upstairs and the allocated just bar area downstairs. The place is very nicely decorated and run by “compaesani” as a fellow Italian myself. Tried the “Negroni sbagliato” whilst my husband went for the house red and both enjoyed it. The prices for the drinks are average for a center located premise however the £4 for (smallish) portion of fries seemed a little high .

I have visited the restaurant for lunch with my sister, absolutely loved it , staff were so nice and friendly, food was also very delicious specially the wedges and the sauce that came with it. Also the place was absolutely stunning. Definitely will visit again soon.

Great food and polite staff, however can sometimes feel a bit abandoned, even when it is not too busy! There is a huge selection of beers and lots of good cocktails, including pairing recommendations on the menu. The pasta portions are a little small but all of the food is always reliably tasty.

Gorgeous city centre venue for a late night bite to eat Food was delicious. We both ordered burgers and they absolutely did not disappoint! These things were huge. And the patties so juicy Being a busy Friday night the venue was packed (I'd estimate it at 90% capacity) but the staff were on the ball. Service was super friendly, quick and efficient The colourful umbrella ceiling is beautiful. The interior shelves are filled with a host of quirky, Italian collectables (for lack of a better word!) £37 for the two of us having burgers and fries with a side of onion rings

Booked a table and I was so glad I did . The staff were friendly and helpful nothing was any problem and gave us advice on the menu and drinks. I must say even though it was really busy night the staff were always on hand to help and the waiting times were fab . I can say I will definitely be back

Food was lovely, staff friendly but not sure if they were a little short staffed as we had to try a few times to get someone's attention to order dessert

Oof... what to say here. I guess I'll keep it simple. The service was wonderful; very accommodating, very friendly. Decor was super enjoyable. We took plenty of pictures. Very bright, very fun. The food wasn't bad, it just wasn't all that great. The lasagne was kind of bland, the pizza was... bland, etc. I tried a flight of beers (their own brews) and every one was just a bit too hoppy and bitter for me. To be fair, I really don't like hoppy and bitter... but some people do. 🤷‍♂️ It could have been an off night, but based on our experience, this place *could* be really amazing. Tweak the recipes a bit, then couple that with the service and enjoyable, quirky decor... success. 👌

The staff were helpful. We ordered from the £8 lunch menu and I enjoyed my pizza. We also had beers and appreciated the range on offer. The location is as central as you could get in Glasgow city centre and is especially handy for Queen Street train station. I much prefer this location now compared to its previous incarnation as a Jamie's Italian, especially the grown up seating as opposed to the metal frame chairs that Jamie's used to have.

• Order Pictured - Burger of the month Carbonara burger with an extra patty. Onion rings on the side. • Time - 60 mins in the place. Very Quick service and between courses we always got asked how we were getting on. • Presentation - see pics. Looks amazing. • Quality - 5/5 - one of the best burgers I've had in ages. It was soo juicy. I hope they keep this one on the menu. Tasted absolutely delicious and I ate the lot within 10 mins. I couldn't put it down. Everyone needs to try this. • Quantity - 5/5 - there was loads. I left an onion ring or 2 lol • Value for money - fantastic for the city centre. Without buying any drinks it was £38 for the 2 of us. Both of us had burgers. • Additional - great service and the staff were very attentive. Probably the best service I've had in Glasgow so far the staff were always checking up on us but not overly. Inside, the place was looking fantastic with a great Italian theme. See pics. All in all a great dining experience and the fact it was mobbed just shows you how good the food/beers are. Would thoroughly recommend.

Thought I'd treat myself to a 3 course lunch on my pay day. The service was prompt, attentive, personable and friendly. I liked the interior design and the individually framed professional photos of staff on the walls which is a nice touch. The food was awesome and I had a couple of their craft IPA beers which were also very good. Overall for what I ordered it was well worth it. I'd definitely go back as the menu is quite extensive and lots more to try.

We had no booking and they offered us a table straight away. Their craft beer was very good. We ordered a few kinds of meat and one of them was quite raw, but the other ones were alright. Staff came a bit too often at our table, rushing us somehow to finish eat and leave. I can only think that they had the table booked for someone else. Other than that, staff was friendly and smiling all time. Good location and well presented place.

Excellent service and food There are some places that stand out for their food, or their service, or the venue. Doppio Malto was a stand out for the full trifecta. The food was great, we got the sharing platter and it was delicious. The staff were attentive without being in your face, and they were knowledgeable about their beers. The setting was lovely and a great space upstairs for dining with a more relaxed space downstairs. The staff though really set the place apart. They had a few different people in each area so one person was never overloaded, and each one was great. We asked about a slightly sweeter cocktail, and our wait person at that time said he would make us an espresso martini himself. He made a slightly sweeter version that he tailored to our question, and it was absolutely delightful. First, but most definitely not our last, visit.

Visited for the first time with friends last week. Staff were friendly and attentive throughout our meal. Atmosphere was really nice too. My partner and I tried chicken wings and cheesy croquettes. He said he would have liked the wings to come with sauce over them making them more wet, they were battered and had a bbq dipping sauce. My croquettes were decent, tasty but not much more to say. The pastas were the star of the show. I had the cacio e pepe, it was delicious. A really good portion and perfectly cooked. My partner had the carbonara and he loved it too. The menu was cool as it had beer suggestion that accompanied the food you ordered if you fancied being adventurous. I personally tried the Pilsner and it was spot on, my partner had the stout (Guiness drinker) and said it was really nice. We used a January offer for discount from our food bill, taking the price per couple down considerably.

I've been a frequent visitor to Doppio Malto, a charming Italian restaurant located in central Glasgow near George Square. The restaurant has a lot going for it, but there are a few areas that could use some improvement. On the positive side, the location is fantastic, making it convenient to meet up with friends and enjoy a delicious Italian meal. The food at Doppio Malto is consistently impressive, and their diverse selection of beers adds a delightful touch to the dining experience. The staff's attention and service have always been top-notch, creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. The restaurant's decoration also adds to its charm, making it a pleasant place to spend time. However, there are a couple of areas that require immediate attention. Firstly, the female toilet has an ongoing problem with a continuously running tap, which has been left unresolved for an extended period. Furthermore, the unpleasant odour in the toilet area can significantly impact the overall experience. On a positive note, the accessible toilet offers a much cleaner and more pleasant alternative. One concerning incident that I personally observed is a manager loudly berating and humiliating staff members at the bar, all of this occurring in plain view of customers. This type of behaviour is disheartening and creates an uncomfortable atmosphere for both the employees and patrons. The consistent high turnover of staff raises serious questions about the underlying workplace culture, making it crucial for improvements to be made in this aspect as well. One noticeable recent change has been the alteration of the menu design and food offerings. While the food remains delicious as always, the new minimalist menu lacks pictures and features smaller text, making it harder to visualize the dishes. The previous menu layout with images provided a clearer idea of what to expect, I hope the previous design can come back.

Managed to book a table the Saturday before Christmas for dinner the same day. We arrived 5 mins before and were seated after a few minutes. The restaurant was rammed but the service was great. Our server was on the ball and food and drink orders were taken quickly. The food was great, the only negative was that the pasta was a bit lukewarm and far more ' al dente ' than I'd have liked. But it was delicious nonetheless. The cocktails were delicious if not a wee bit pricey, but its the city centre so its to be expected. There was an issue at the end trying to pay as the card reader kept going down but we got there in the end. We were given a voucher for 25% off food in January and will definitely return for this. I'm not usually the biggest fan of going out for Italian, but Doppio Malto didn't disappoint.
