Went for pre-gig dinner at the Hyrdo(5 minutes away). Incredibly friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and beautifully decorated. My friend is gluten/wheat intolerant and they could do any of the pasta dishes, except the lasagne, gf for them. Pizzas have activated black charcoal, hence the colour, and it was so tasty.

Really nice atmosphere as soon as we walked in, bright vibrant festive restaurant. Pleasant, kind service and comfortable seating also. Menu selection was plentiful and had delicious sounding variety. We ordered a number of different dishes and they all looked appetising. The dishes weren't so overly huge that our group could enjoy a mix of starters, sides and dessert. My dish was very flavourful, the bruschetta was soft in the centre and had a satisfying crunch around the edge with numerous different tasty toppings. My pasta was seasoned well and creamy as I'd hoped. The rest of my group enjoyed their food also. The ambient music was Italian which helped enjoying the authenticity of the place. I also tried the dessert which was tasty and a unique concept of a deconstructed tiramisu. The zucchini fries were tasty but a little oily. The prices were just a little higher than expected but overall my group really enjoyed the dining experience. I would recommend this restaurant for a pleasant Italian meal.

I went to this restaurant to celebrate Halloween with their special menu. I ordered one regular dinner and one vegetarian - both were absolutely amazing. The portions were perfect for the number of courses. I opted to included the pairing wines and they couldn’t have been better. My favorite part of the meal was the dessert. It was one of the best I’ve had in years. The staff were also very helpful and attentive. They kept an eye on the table but provided us our space - they checked in on us when it was obvious we had finished our course. The owner came through to personally check on all of the tables - something I truly appreciate and wish restaurants did more of. They also included a special Halloween trick-or-treat gift for visiting. The experience was one of the best I’ve had in Glasgow. It was worth the price we paid - I highly recommend giving this place a try.

Delicious food, neither of us could fault any course it was beautiful. I’m not usually a dessert person but the pistachio lava cake was incredible!!! Service was lovely and the interiors of the restaurant are great. Also a great price for the quality of the food. We will be back!

For my birthday, I went to this restaurant Wednesday, but I have been fews times previously and it has always been great! The restaurant is a nice, cozy place and everything is clean and tidy. The atmosphere with Italian music in background made it special. The staff are welcoming and are always smiling and give great suggestions about the wine. The service was also attentive and all the dishes were delicious. As starter, i opted for a pizza with the charcoal dough, potato scamorza and sausages: it was soft and light, the topping were flavourful. For the Main, i took pasta with artichokes (suggested by the manager) and the lamb. Pasta was properly cooked but chapeau for the lamb, as it was very tender and delicious! For dessert, I had the panna cotta and tiramisù 2.0, the latter had a unique spherical shape. I would recommend this restaurants particularly for a special occasion!

What an amazing restaurant!! Walked in without a reservation and had the best meal in our 9 weeks away. The food was excellent, the service was personal and welcoming and the atmosphere perfect. My husband is raving about the pasta with truffle sauce and the lasagna was the best I have ever had. I would give a higher review if it was possible.

Joia is not a cheap restaurant but I thoroughly enjoyed everything I ate there. I was with a vegan who struggled to find anything on the menu to accommodate her. Luckily they had gluten free pasta they could sub in and my partner was absolutely thrilled with his gluten free, vegetarian carbonara. I had ragu, it was delicious and generous. If there was more choice for vegans it would be easy five star.

Highly recommended: a fantastic discovery for the excellent dishes, cosy ambience and warm hospitality make Joia a top-notch place. A must try for true Italian flavours (coming from an Italian). During my summer stay in Glasgow I returned several times with pleasure.

This is a new italian restaurant in the Finnieston area. I would highly recommend, the food was really amazing and the staff are great too! It's on the slightly expensive side but definitely worth it. They do more unique dishes and flavours than you'd find in a standard Italian. My partner is Italian so I have had my fair share of Italian food both in Italy and in Scotland and I need to say that being in joia honestly felt like visiting Italy which was great. The restaurant would sit well in a northern Italian town. All of our courses were beautifully presented and tasted just as good. If you like Italian food then definitely give this place a try, I don't think you will be disappointed!
