Mind-blowing food at Madras Cafe.
Went it on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was quiet. I’m a fuzzy eater. Was looking for something lite for lunch. The menu looked appealing and was in a dilemma about which dish to take. Thanks to the waiter who helped me when I told him to pick something lite for me. Had a South Indian mixed vegetables dish with lentils and the classic chicken tikka. Both of them were outstanding. Could taste the freshness of vegetables. The chicken had a smokey flavour of coal which I guess was cooked in a clay oven run by coal. The meat here was surprisingly not dry like other places I ate in. Good balance of spices and freshness everywhere.
Another thing that surprised me was their washroom 😃. It was clean and shiny which is surprising at places with this price range. Thanks to Madras Cafe for their incredible food and service. Will return and definitely recommend it to my friends.
Have been to many Indian restaurants but haven’t tasted something better than this. Will return soon for sure and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good Indian curry. Service was exceptional.
A great and authentic culinary experience with very friendly staff and southern style Indian food. Staff will guide you through the menu and the best experience. Wines however are a bit sub standard with a generous mark up, I would be happy to pay a little more and have a proper bottle - overalls great experience - best to book on en ends
The best and most authentic Indian curry I had in the town. We were a group of 4 and tried out different starters and mains. All were 10 out of 10. From my more than 30 years of experience with Indian cuisine, I can tell that the food Couldn't be better. The lamb chops starter and the monkfish dish was the star of the show according to my friends. They also have an extended menu for the vegetarian which I found quite helpful and unique as a vegetarian. I had the tawa sabzi which was a mix of maybe
6-8 kinds of vegetables. Could taste freshness in every bite. The amount of oil was controlled to perfection as in my past experience found the curried of most of the places oily. From the waiter, I got to know that they don't use any Ghee or food colour in food which expresses their concern for healthy food. The spices used were fresh and not too much in amount which you can tell as you eat.
The service was the best. Couldn't imagine this level of service at this price point. Was my first visit but can guarantee it won't be the last. Would recommend it to people who really know Indian curries.
Very warm and welcoming place. Great staff who were quick with service. Loved the way the menu was designed and ambience. Starters and street food was reasonably priced. Dosa felt £1-2 slightly expensive.
Masala dosa was crispy, unique pink beetroot chutney. However, the sambhar lacked a certain flavour and didn’t quite feel satisfying.
Paneer Frankie - Filling was spicy and tasty, however the outer covering should be a Paratha, but it tasted and felt like a spring roll that was deep fried.
One of most amazing Indian restaurant. Foods are halal, delicious and plated beautifully. The best battered prawn we had in Glasgow.

Me and my mom visited Glasgow, and we decided to check this place out. It had a warm and friendly atmosphere, and the food was amazing. The portions are excellent (not small). I loved that they had a wide selection of dishes, drinks, and appetisers. The food was delicious, I’d definitely recommend it for anyone who likes Indian food. I’d be wary about spices if you are sensitive to them, and ask the waiter if you have any questions, they were very welcoming and equipped to answer our questions. This place is a 10/10 for both me and my mom:D
Lovely restaurant with tasty food. The pink sauce with the aloo starter tasted like sherbet which was an odd pairing.
Stopped here whilst travelling with work. Sat on my own but was immediately put at ease by the waiter and atmosphere. Food was tasty, hot and I really enjoyed it. Would certainly recommend whilst in Glasgow
Excellent service and very tasty. Plenty of food we had to get a doggy bag.
Amazing south Indian food.. a must try!
Going to be a fav for our family!
The fish dishes, dosas, parottas yummm yummm
Outstanding Indian food, the best in Scotland 🏴 👍. Excellent food, service and great value for money. Will definitely be visiting again soon.
The spicy lamb chops were finger licking good.
Had dosa after a long time. They make tea with machine (which was not bad surprisingly). Wish they made authentic Indian tea. That would have made it perfect!
My wife went for a pleasant meal here before our gig. The restaurant was surprisingly very quiet. I feel that the restaurant could do with a bit of a renovation as some parts of it look a little old and run down. The mirror in the toilet needs cleaned. Staff were friendly. Menu is extensive. Everything we ordered tasted nice apart from the special fries which I regret ordering. They were very basic and had spices on them which made them taste even worse. The naan bread was our favourite - very delicious. Our starters were also particularly nice. The restaurant is very affordable especially if you choose the pre theatre menu. Overall I we enjoyed our meal but was expecting better, considering the excellent reviews on Google and Tripadvisor but maybe we just ordered the wrong things.
Had seen the great reviews and decided to give it a go. Ordering from the main menu we were really pleased with the flavours in everything we had, the garlic chilli chicken was delicious and the deserts were really good too. Will definitely be back to try some of the other items on the menu.
Absolutely amazing. I didn't expect much walking in but was recommended here by a friend. It is very very good food. Came as a big group, and everyone had different things everything we ordered was tastier than expected
The food was very good. The only downside is that it was very hot indoors, but that's the same in the entire Glasgow, so locals are probably used to it...
We'd heard this was one of the best rated Indian restaurants in Glasgow, but it was on trip advisor so you never really know. But it really was amazing. The waiter was extremely helpful and informative and stopped me from way way way over ordering. Would highly recommend this place to anyone who asked.
