An amazing hidden gem. The sushi was phenomenal and the takoyaki was practically a religious experience. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere - eating there felt comforting and relaxing. The service was flawless, and the prices are great. We will absolutely be coming back!
Great Japanese food, we ordered ramen, Katsu curry, seaweed for starter, prawn tempura and seafood gyozas. Everything was tasty and served to us quickly. Really good service, big shout out to Katy and Grace, super lovely people. Great selection of food on the menu as well, you’ll definitely find something you enjoy!
Staff are very friendly, food is great! We got vegetarian sushi platter, vegetarian bento box and the salmon sushi and it was wonderful! The cost for all of this, with their own eat-out-to-help-out discount was very much worth it. Would absolutely recommend.
What an amazing experience we had at Sushi Ya! Already been here multiple times and me and my other half love it. Every time the food is fresh and very well made by the chef, also the staff is lovely. The food looks the part also ,not just tasty. We definitely recommend this place if you are visiting Glasgow ! I would love to give 10 stars if there was an option.
Excellent sushi restauraunt. If you're looking for traditional Japanese sushi in Glasgow, this is the place to try. Staff are so kind and welcoming. Food was 10/10, really tasty and reasonably priced. We had a lovely time and will be back!👏🌸
Bento boxes are wonderful and a good deal for the price. Pretty big too. Takoyaki and tempura were also lovely. You get a lot for what you pay for and good quality too. Kind and attentive staff. I was surprised at how quiet it was.
If you want a bento box, I would recommend here. It’s a very nicely priced meal.
(Went on 12/05/22)
On our fist day of Glasgow, we pumped into this Japanese restaurant and ordered two bento boxes while we were hungry. Each came with 4 pieces of rolls and a very nice and warm miso soup. The food was tasty and satisfying. The waitresses are lovely and attentive.
Authentic Japanese cuisine with great quality of ingredients and wine selection is the best Japanese restaurant in Glasgow City Centre. Bento are perfectly cooked into perfection. Great decorated restaurant on Union Street, with more than 30 seats available and a fully licensed bar onsite invites you to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere of authentic Japanese dinning experience & suitable for family and friends gathering. Wide selections of hot dishes, soup noodle, sashimi with great Ramen Soup Selection, Teriyaki & Japanese specialty Sushi….
Cosy Japanese eatery with friendly staff. Reasonably priced. The pork could be more tender but the broth was great. Considering it is in Glasgow and Asian food isn’t too easy to find, this is a great choice.

The decor was beautiful! We were immediately put at ease by the wonderful and kind staff, who cared for us throughout our visit. The music was slamming and we absolutely loved it!
Big shout out to the chefs who crafted the most delectable Japanese cuisine. Truly doing God's work! Each bite was a flavour sensation! We were given the choice between chopsticks and cutlery, and we politely declined the cutlery as we are chopstick alphas. (so if you can't use chopsticks then it's okay they'll love you anyway). Big ups to the refreshing fruit juices on offer. I personally was a fan of the pineapple juice whilst my partner preferred the orange lemonade. He actually downed 4 glasses and loved every drop.
We aren't usually big eaters, but for SushiYa we made the exception. Clean plates all round and we were absolutely stuffed! Unfortunately I really wanted to try the puddings but I got full up on all of their amazing savoury dishes that I forgot all about dessert lol!
We came here two days in a row and we were the only ones there for the most part- very sad as this is an amazing restaurant in a very good location, as its right next to the station!
We hope to be back as we can't get this place out of our hearts and souls! Truly a life changing experience, no joke!
The best sushi in Glasgow by far. Also the kindest hosts ever, they put me beside the heater because it was a cold day and were so attentive. The owner has worked in many different well known restaurants and his chat was great! Wonderful, authentic ramen, the best I have had in all of Europe. I would highly recommend the Volcano Sushi, what an amazing flavour! The decor will transport you to the Far East.
Excellent place! Came here just by walking in with a friend on a Monday night. Ramen is the most legit in the city and most authentic, I recommend the Tonkotsu Base Pork ramen or the Bento Box B. Lovely and tasty!! Warms the stomach. Soup is excellent! The egg is CORRECT. Thank you very much, the service was excellent as well and the owners are incredibly polite!
Great place for weekends, friendly staff, delicious food...
Love this place! You get transported to Japan and I love it!
The sushi and soups and veggie gyoza were amazing! This is my go-to sushi place now ❤️
What would have helped my experience be 5 star is if the menus were more reader friendly and be accessible to nuerodiverse and any other cognitive ability. It would be helpful if the menu was more organised with better visual aids. This would avoid stress when ordering as noone wants to eat while under stress. Also please include allergens on your menu or have a separate allergen menu again to reduce stress for customers when ordering.
I also understand what was said in previous comments about the wasabi and ginger and it would be helpful if you could explain your policy to customers when they are ordering again to avoid stress of not receiving wasabi and ginger when the sushi comes out. I had a few delays in eating because I had to look for the waitress to repeatedly ask for it. You could ask up front if customers like it and then automatically take out and replenish their wasabi and ginger when it's running low and this will make for a much more enjoyable sushi experience because I have NEVER gone for sushi anywhere in the world and not had wasabi and ginger given with sushi. It was confusing and irritating to be honest and it's hard to say that I will be back.
The waitress made a lot of effort so thank you for that.
Wonderful place. Extremely pleasant and relaxing place. Its a stark contrast to the everyday life and usual meals here in the UK. As if I was in a different world. The staff was beyond pleasant and kind. The food was like nothing I've ever tried. The tea was very refreshing and with a very pleasant aroma. I recommend this place to anyone that wants to stop, take a breath and enjoy some otherworldly cuisine. 11/10.
What a great find! Enjoyed their vegetable tempura and sweet potato maki that came in a bento set. We found the food to be satisfying, ambience of the place to be beautiful and cosy, and service fast and friendly.
They had an extensive menu containing different types of sushi, fried rice, bentos, ramen, in addition to a wide range of sides! We have no choice but to return to try more dishes ◡̈
Great lunch time stop. Salmon sushi was really fresh and the jellyfish starter delicious.
