A great place in the west end of Glasgow just off Byres Road. The huge coffee mugs are a particular favourite of mine and the cake selection is second to none! The ambience, the food, the coffee, the cakes! Ahh I could go on but I would spoil your fun! Explore it for yourself! You will not regret this little hidden gem of a place!

Wonderful drinks and cakes - and the nicest chap who called a taxi for us to save my arthritic knees! Thank you so much and see you next year! :)

Ok, ok, okay!. I felt, as a regular of atrium, that I should offer my piece and try to help some other users understand the way the place is looked after/ ran.

What we have in atrium is a small independent coffee (house) which provides a great amenity and, to many, a welcoming atmosphere. The waiting staff are at a higher standard than many other west end coffee outlets. They will make a big effort to get to know you/ your drink.

I do agree that John (the owner) can be a bit too "efficient" at times where by he moves people on, asks non diners to move away from tables and does not allow food which hasn't been purchased on the premises to be consumed in the shop.

The trend of (big chain) cafes in the area is to allow people to arrive in the morning buy the cheapest coffee then sit for the rest of the day on the WiFi and studying. As a small shop atrium can not accommodate this.

You can never please everyone in the west end but these guys (and their staff) are doing a pretty good job in my eyes.

Good coffee, great staff. I felt compelled to leave a quick review of the Atrium after reading some hissy comments from others.

I use this place every week for the past 3 years and not once have I encountered the nasty things I read on this site.

It's a decent place to go get a good cup of coffee, it uses Matthew Algie coffee which most people who like decent coffee know is far better than the burnt taste of Costa or Starbucks. Prices are reflective of the area and what you expect to pay for good coffee.

Apart from the coffee the reason I keep going back is that the staff make all the difference. The girls who work there always happy to serve me and even though I only go once a week they now ask if I want my 'usual' coffee (medium mocha). It's nice to know that they remember what I order and are happy to see customers.

So if a review of somewhere from someone who goes regularly means anything, there you go this is what I have to say about Atrium.

Best coffee in the West End. I have been going to The Atrium for years and always enjoyed their coffee, but since being taken over by Wayne & John, it has just gone from strength to strength. Warm decor, great coffee, tea, infusions, milkshakes, cakes etc etc. If I had any gripe at all it would be that sometimes tables are taken up by West End "ladies who chat" (for hours) over one or two coffees for what seems like hours at a time, then moan if asked to vacate the table for people who are waiting! I would recommend it to anyone looking for the best coffee. (Try their mochas)

Great coffee, great atmosphere. This place has changed owners recently and John & Wayne (didn't make that up) have turned this place into a little haven of cosyness on Cresswell Street.

The amber and brown colour scheme blend well with the excellent coffee served. With an great selection of cakes and magazines. What else do you need?

To summarise, its like Starbucks but not Starbucks. Understand what I mean? Sorry! - As in the ambiance/service/style/quality/selection of cakes is what you expect from a good coffee house but with the personal feel of a local owner.

Neighbourhood coffee shop in West End. This is the quintessential West End local coffee shop - populated by the regulars, friendly service, excellent coffee, good choice of cakes, muffins, bacon "butties", the daily newspapers, local art adorning the walls, all just off Byres Road.

Popped in today to grab a couple of vanilla lattes to go, it was clean, quiet and very reasonably priced. Coffee was great, im a bit picky with coffee but this was smooth and strong and not scalding hot. Will definitely be back

I like this wee coffee shop. It has a nice relaxed atmosphere, looks clean, nice coffee, good cup of tea, good range of buns and one of the few places in byres Rd area where you can get just an ordinary filled roll for breakfast. Average prices for the area. Comfortably be on your own. Staff are pleasant, smiling and helpful. Highly recommend

Nice coffee shop, friendly staff, good outside seating area and I like that large means large when it come to the drink sizes (huge goblet of coffee). However, I wish they would take down the covid screens in the seating area. Gives the place a slight quarantine ward vibe.

Used to go there for lunch, when i worked nearby. It was a welcome return yesterday. Food as good as ever. Real quality sandwiches and Empire Biscuits to die for. Coffee tastes like coffee should. Staff are friendly and service is prompt. Couldn't be better.

Great coffee shop serving the nicest latte and the best lemon drizzle cake in the West End. The staff are delightful, always welcoming customers with a smile, unlike a certain other similar establishment not a million miles away. Their soups are excellent and good value. The staff work hard to keep the place clean and tidy at all times, with dishes whisked away and tables cleaned efficiently. Plenty tables outside facing the sun. The best coffee shop in the West End by far.

Regular long time visitor here. Kinda says a lot when you consider the choice we have in the area. Tried most of the other venues close by over the years but always come back to Atrium. Consistently meets my needs, coffee is excellent. Portion sizes are generous, prices are fair (it’s an expensive area to be so can understand they have to pay the bills too). Staff are all nice and friendly, have witnessed too many times the entitled sorts they have to deal with and still keep smiling. Oh one other thing it’s usually busy so it has a good atmosphere and most are regulars like me so we all can’t be wrong.

Best coffee in west end by far. Quick service, and decent price. Love their mocha and tasty tuna melt baguettes. Because it’s up a side street off byres road, I forget it’s there sometimes. A gem among a lot of disappointing coffee shops and cafes in west end. 👍
