Attentive, professional staff and friendly. Lunch / brunch menu excellent. Soup and sandwich delicious and plentiful. A great venue for catching up with friends. You can relax without being asked every 10 minutes if you wish to order something else.
After a little goose chase around the west end for some Eggs Benny, we ended up here. It was exactly what I had in mind - a really nice, semi-rustic atmosphere, very relaxed. The staff were very welcoming, and attentive, and it wasn't very busy when we arrived so everything arrived so fast. Our eggs were definitely overcooked, but we pointed it out, and they whisked our plates away and brought back fresh ones (with PERFECTLY cooked eggs). To apologise, they didn't charge us for the coffee, but that was ridiculous! So we left a large-ish tip. All in all I was really happy with the place, even with a minor slip up (and I know I such at poaching eggs), so I will be returning.
This restaurant is a great place to have a meal anytime of the day, but I recommend going here for breakfast or brunch. The interior is warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere is relaxed. It gets pretty busy, so be prepared to wait for a table, or sit by the window counter. The coffee here is well made and tastes great. Try the eggs Benedict or the traditional cullen skink soup! They also have the most amazing brownies you will ever taste.
I shared the meat grazing board, it looked amazing and tasted even better!
Every ingredient tasted fresh and delicious, will definitely be returning to try more from the menu.
The house white wine went well with this!
There was an excellent selection of cakes at the front of the bar when you enter...visiting here without trying one must be impossible!
We were rather full after the grazing board so went for one of the cupcakes, these were a perfect end to a perfect lunch.
Service was very good we had a very friendly and helpful waitress. It was definitely a 5 star experience!
Restaurant. Visited Epicures on various occasions. Each and every time staff pleasant attentive look as if they enjoy working there. Food beautiful . What else can we ask for, be patient all who find fault life's too short appreciate good service!
Exceedingly Good Cakes. I've had my ups and downs with this place, having gone there semi-regularly since it opened. The food, service and ambience has variably been good, great, not so good, and occasionally terrible. I accept that restaurants operate with a transient workforce, and that this can cause inconsistencies in product and service over a given period of time. The one thing, however, that has remained at an excellent standard in Epicures is its cakes, pastries, scones, breads and all other things baked. I'm more of an afternoon diner so often choose from the pastry menu, wherever I happen to be, and can honestly state that Epicures' range of freshly baked goods is of a standard unrivalled by any of its local competitors. Not that this should reflect badly on these other business, just that Epicures does do, as Mr Kipling might put it, exceedingly good cakes.
Extremely disapointing customer service experience following a complaint about bland food. Will not be going back or recommending this place to anyone I know.
Natty says go for the Brownie!!!. So here we go, epicures.... It's lovely, I must say. The staff are great, the coffee is really good and the chocolate brownie is melt in your mouth to die for delicious! I have had on two occasions had the Eggs Benedict and the first time I was dissapointed because it was gammon on it and not bacon. The second time I was dissapointed because my eggs were practically raw but I had asked for real bacon this time which was a bonus. Brownie though........Enough said.
We go here every Saturday for many reasons, two of which are the excellent coffee and the superb, friendly service.Christine,Jane,Kirsty and ALL the staff are so welcoming, you feel as if you are visiting friends and it has been like that from day one!! Several people we have taken are now regulars and we all agree, the staff are quite exceptional. I have to ask myself, exactly who has written some of the nasty reviews and why? So ignore them everyone, Epicures and everyone who works there is FANTASTIC!!!
Epicures New Menu love it!!!. Big news at Epicures...I am local and love the place but have found the menu a bit limited.By chance was in for dinner last night and to my surprise found they had launched new menu!!!Not before time but from what I saw and tasted it has been worth the wait.I had fantastic goats chees tart to start altho if I had been a bit more adventurous would have tried the snails!!!My partner had the seafood starter which he said was fabulous. For mains I had the gorgeous Beef Bourgingon and my partner had the chicken schnitzel again both great dishes. From what I can remeber there is a huge choice of fish , meat and veggy options so should be something for everyone.Think this menu is really going to establish Epicures as a nightime dinner destination. Service great but then I have never had a problem with it.The blonde girl think her name is Bree does a fab job.
Friendly and pleasant. 7 of us went for dinner on Monday night, a couple of weeks back to celebrate my brother's birthday.
Staff were friendly and helpful, food was good and we all enjoyed the evening.
I did wonder having read some of the other reviews, but my experience was all good, so will be back.
I eat regularly in the West End, and now most frequently at Epicures. I haven't experienced poor service and the food is consistently good. I was shocked to read the personal comment directed at the Manager, by a previous reviewer. That says far more about the writer, than the restaurant itself. Debbie R.
I won't fault it. I remember Hyndland Rd in the 1990s as the street where all the traffic slowed to a crawl as they came through the lights, either because they were looking for a parking space or just because they were gawping at the shops, for some reason. And in those days there were no eateries as fabby as Epicures to gawp at. I'd describe the ambience here as spacious, airy, clean and friendly. Thumbs up to the sea bass dish, light and tasty and well complemented by the accompanying veg. The house white wine slipped down well. And if you're going to eat a fruit trifle I can't imagine one much tastier than the one I tasted here. All right I'm not an expert - I just like simple healthy food simply cooked. I wasn't disappointed here. Thanks also to the manageress, the goddess-like Jordanne, who embodies proof that Scorpio is indeed the sexiest sign in the zodiac.
Great meal. Although the menu is fairly limited the food is fresh & well cooked, not that cheap in the evenings & £6.50 for 2 small crab cakes starter is a bit steep. Alcohol is also quite expensive but all in all a very good meal.
Very Sociable. My husband and I visit Epicures every weekend as we not only enjoy 'people watching', but the atmosphere is great, the service is excellent and the staff are extremely friendly and professional especially the blonde Manageress. It is our favourite informal venue and we have many such places where we live in Pollokshields but none compare as favourably to Epicures. By the way, we have always enjoyed what we ordered. Mary
Wow- clearly a huge diversity of views proving you either love it or hate it! Well we hit it on a good night with 4 lovely fish courses served up by efficient sweet staff in a very relaxed atmosphere. My seabass on a lemon and thyme risotto was extremely tasty. The fresh mint tea was sensational. Will come back when next in Glasgow- hope that it can be more consistent than the reviewers suggest!
Fantastic Coffee!. Great, friendly ser vice! They were jam packed so i took a seat at the bar for a coffee. Loved everything about the place- staff, atmosphere, efficient service and a perfectly made cappucino. Everyone was all smiles and seemed to be enjoying themselves. Will be back.
Smashing. This is definately the best addition to the West end in a long time. Brilliant food and service. Been many times now. Keep it up guys.
Stunning location. We came for brunch. The food was tasty, although portions small. I would have liked some additional garnish (similar to previous post photos). The waffle chicken was good but half the plate was empty, and could have done with additional syrup and a spicy sauce. The French toast, again was good but a much smaller portion than previous.
The staff were good and the place is lovely inside. I got a bloody Mary cocktail that was delicious.
Can't understand the hate this place gets for portion sizes, came for breakfast/brunch, shakshuka really delicious served with pretty much a loaf of sourdough. Service was without fault, friendly even when confronted with some special requests/sides. Only booked it about an hour before sitting down and the table was all set up ready to go for 7 people, bon.
Epicures hit it out of the park! We shared a heap of their dishes and we were sooo impressed. The staff were excellent and so friendly. We will be back and highly recommend a visit.

I have to admit, the decor and ambiance of this place are on point, and the staff are super welcoming. However, the food is way overpriced, and it's just not worth it. Sure, the dishes look pretty, but the taste doesn't quite hit the mark, which is a real shame. I left feeling kind of let down, despite the overall pleasant experience. Given the cost of the meal, I'm not sure I'd come back again.
Lovely place for brunch. Good menu with options but not overwhelming with too many to pick from. Great cocktails to pair with brunch too.

One of the best places in West End for breakfast or brunch. Great atmosphere and the food is great! The staff is very polite and knows how to make you feel welcome! I was served by Jack he was brilliant.
Maybe the prices are like £2 more than expected but, overall, I would suggest 100%!
Came here twice in two days for breakfast whilst staying with friends. Service was good, the waiters were very nice and the food was excellent. V much recommend the veggie haggis! Second time I went for the French toast and it was delicious. Only thing missing was fresh juice.
I always really enjoy a brunch in here. On last visit we ordered from the lunch menu and it was equally satisfying. Choice for vegetarian diners is great too. However I would stay longer/ have coffee after if there was a better selection of baking, each time I've been it's always been a bit sparse and disappointing.
Great spot for lunch. Amazing food! The service was brilliant also. We will definitely be back
Chicken with waffle was fantastic !!
It was served with cilantro but it went well with chicken and waffle!!
Staff were really dedicated and we love this place.
Went here for brunch. Had the lobster and prawn roll and the Epicures Benedict, both were delicious and we would have it again. Also, had the choux bun (dark chocolate top with mango and passionfruit creme) and chocolate brownie. Again, both delicious. Service was quick and friendly. I just think the prices are a little steep compared to other places in the area.
Great staff, delicious food, beautiful surroundings and the best coffee in Glasgow. What more can I say?
(Pictured is the crayfish roll, korean fried chicken on waffles then carrot cake)
Lovely brunch. The atmosphere, staff and food were so good! I had the waffles with chicken and mocha for drinks
The place is looking great after the refurb. Service was quick. Friendly staff. The food was nothing extraordinary but it was certainly nice, and the portions were generous. The lamb was very tasty. Pints were properly cold which I appreciate. We paid with an Itison voucher so it was very good value!
Excellent food and wonderful service! The decor pulls everything together! Be sure to book a table as it can get a bit busy
Service was excellent during our visit. Surprised to see other reviews saying differently. Coffee was very good as well and they offered both oat and soy milk options. Atmosphere was the topper. Such a lovely place. Would come back if ever in town.
