I've been to this pub many times, but this review is for a weekday lunch visit where I was part of a group of seven. The Edward G can get busy and that was certainly the case on the day I visited and so getting a table for seven of us was tricky and in the end we ended up on a low sofa and stools,
I have been here a number of times. And I prefer it midweek as it is quiet.
The pros.
It's pretty cheap. And they have a good supply of ales on tap, as well as some decent bottles.
The staff are generally pretty pleasant, helpful and friendly.
The food is good.
The cons.
It's always loud.
On
Very busy & noisy ( thank goodness they don't have music!) Service was quick though & staff pleasant. Good for a quick drink but not for a seat!
Friday so Haddock and Chips. Really well cooked and a very nice piece of fish. The staff are friendly as well. Only downside being it's location in the office buildings part of Glasgow
Used to be my go to pub for meeting friends. Prices were ok and the food mediocre. But don't go to a pub and expect a lot. Overall decent and good value for drinks.
I bit quieter than other weatherspoon pubs so good value. Food nothing to write home about but expected if you eaten in wetherspoons. Found seat easily.
Good selection of beer's standard food menu always good for value
Staff as usual, friendly and cheerful, nice seating ,no music which means that you can have a chat brilliant.
Busy little public house would visit again
If you wanting greasy breakfast youve come to the wrong place my scotch breakfast was basic but delicious and it beats any other place unless you free beer is part of the menu
Good place to go in the City for a drink and a bite to eat as it's not as busy as the other bars, and the food and service is good and a fair price.
Good beer but a bit inconsistent
Edit: 3/1/17 - have returned on numerous occasions, beer now consistently good. Have amended review accordingly
Great food even better service from the deputy head manager she's very happy and very happy too help friendly and welcoming definitely a credit too her job
Very good pub, you can tell that the staff try hard, my wife loved aswell, and she's not easily satisfied! If you get my meaning
Good prices but like many Weatherspoon's it is a bit grubby and overdue a good clean, some new carpets and lick of paint.
Good cask ale selection and 'craft' beers. Bar service can be slow and strangely operate a queuing system.
Love the food and the selection of beers here. And very reasonable prices.
Great choice of beers but very busy after 5 due to location
