Great Service
We had just arrived in Glasgow and our bus driver had suggested a pint at The Auctioneers. Friendly people at a pub with atmosphere.
Young Eve behind the bar gets a special mention as she helped us find our way to Bishopbriggs. Difficult when there is a train strike on.
Thanks again Eve.
Brilliant live music and atmosphere! If you love spicy food then I recommend the pork bao buns and dirty fries as there was loads of raw jalapeños and was perfect for me. My only criticism is that there isn't as much seating and it was with luck a woman leaving noticed my friend and I trying to find somewhere and offered us her table. Even if you don't get a seat the bar is great to drink at
Right in the heart of the city so mostly popular with local workers for their lunches and post work drinks. Has quite a few large screens so not a bad place to watch sport. Not the best location as it’s down an alley so can be a bit shaded but it has plenty of seats and is no frills
First time in a pub since the first lockdown to meet up with a great mate and I couldn't have chosen a better pub. The staff are friendly and helpful, the pub has a great atmosphere and ambience. Never had any food but lots of people were having food and it all looked good. Good range of wines, beers, spirits etc. I left my scarf in the pub and some kind Glaswegian handed it in and the staff kept it behind the bar for me. I went in today and collected it, staff again were helpful and friendly. Will be back in The Auctioneers very soon 👍
Order - Fish and chips with a pint of Carling. Meal deal!
Delicious and great value for money, especially at the moment during this great depression 😂 advertised as £6 but it's actually £7.
Time - 20~ mins
Presentation - see pics. Looks good.
Quality - 4/5 - It's fish and chips, the batter was nice and crunchy and the fish was nice, wasn't too fishy. The chips weren't fries. Proper thick. I didn't touch the green stuff 🤣 The pint of Carling which came in the deal was decent too (there's a selection of drinks to choose from)
Quantity - 2/5 - You get what you pay for. Small plate makes it look bigger than it actually is. The portion size is below average but still fills you up for a lunch.
Value for money - Brilliant, some places charge you £7 for a drink on its own, throw in fish and chips and your definitely onto a winner. Surely they must be losing money here your stealing it off them at this price lol
Additional - I would definitely come here again if you are looking for a quick lunch with a workmate. A must buy!
Checking into our accommodation yesterday (Point A Hotel, Glasgow) we asked the legendary representative “Ross” for a good pub recommendation and he said “The Auctioneers” was the place to go…commenting that he and his wife love it and go there often.
Well, that sounded pretty good to us so off we went…
What a GREAT place!
Food does not disappoint! I’m salivating just thinking about it again. Hands down the best meal I’ve had in a fortnight of being overseas - and I mentioned as much to “Eve”
Eve - what a delight she is! Her customer service and kindness is exemplary.
Bonus: thoughtful facilities for customers, including usb charge ports.
Top stuff guys! Much appreciated 😊
Cheers from the Aussies 🇦🇺
Visit regularly for lunch and a few beers. Always a good experience. Food is great quality and the price of the lunch deal makes it an obvious choice when I'm wanting to meet up for some food and drinks with family and friends. The pub has a nice atmosphere and the staff are always friendly and helpful.
I had my retirement farewell here on Thursday booking out the back room. What can I say it was amazing starting off with friendly faces from all the staff. Eve and Jodie were amazing making sure that all my food and pre ordered drinks were served throughout the event. The food was lovely with chef making delicious fresh pizzas to order. Bar staff Sarah and James making delicious cocktails and very efficient. Value for money and very convenient for both main train stations. I would recommend here for any special occasion and will definitely be back soon. Thank you for everything team. Margaret Marshall
A solid pub for watching sports in a super central location. Loads of well placed HD screens with plenty of seating and vantage points. A good selection of beers and the food is decent pub grub. Will be my go to football pub for the time being.
I was there early Sunday,a quick pint before I met Liz. Lovely pub of George Square Glasgow. I didn't have food myself , but the adjoining table did and it looked amazing. Service ,drinks wise was good , staff friendly and nice to talk to. There are a couple of TVs in the back and front showing sports. It is a bit dark though, apart from that very nice. I would recommend a visit
Dropped in for a few beers to watch the football and the RWC. Fabulous TV's around the pub, not stuck for choice.
Issues getting served, when it's busy. This hasn't changed in years.
Better awareness from the staff would be useful in improving the situation.
Prices are reasonable for a city centre pub.
I will be back...😁
