Stopped by the counting house for a quick drink before dinner. I feel like this is a must do for any tourist as the view from the windows is gorgeous, and they have a huge variety of INEXPENSIVE craft beers.

We tried some dark beers, ales and lagers, and one drink soon became one too many. What really caught my eye is the fact that they have pims lemonade for £7ish.. Ridiculous!

Grand Designs. This former bank on the corner of George Square harks back to the heyday of Glasgow with its opulent decor and stunning scale. I love the old portraits and huge original safe on the wall !! It's spacious and lively and both the food and the service are more than acceptable. Considering its location, it's good value as well. Highly recommended.

We were in Glasgow on a Saturday afternoon, and decided to find a place to relax and sip a pint or two while awaiting the evening, when we had planned to plunge headlong into the local nightlife.

Walking out of the underground station nearby, we were ambling along when we encountered this place. It looked large and inviting, and thinly occupied. We walked in and seated ourselves, and proceeded to pick up our beverages at the bar.

The menu was quite extensive, and everything looked good, but since we were not very hungry, we ordered the Buffalo wings, and Nachos.  The food was well prepared with good ingredients, and the portions were large. The service was friendly, and efficient. Unfortunately we did not try anything else, but I do plan to return and sample more of their offering.

The restaurant is located opposite the iconic George Square in the heart of Glasgow, few minutes walk from the Queen street station and the Buchanan Street subway. The name Counting House comes from the fact that the building was originally constructed in  1893 as Prescott's Bank (the pub on Sauchiehall Street is called Henglers Circus in tribute to the original circus which used to be located in what is now O2 abc) . The ambience is one of old luxury with deep seats and plush carpeting. If you intend to spend a night out, I would recommend booking a table as the pub gets super crowded during the evenings.

The staff are very helpful and efficient. However on weekends it might be a tad hard to get their attention, the place is overflowing with people trying some great ale - a little patience and you will most certainly get served.

The food is great and the quality has been maintained - I've been the JDW in other cities and the food comes out perfect. The quantity might seem to be on the smaller side but with a beer it turns out to fill ones tummy. Their platters and offers are totally worth checking out - different branches might have different offers on during the day so its good to ask the hostess whats available.

Primarily being the pub, the spot has an amazing selection of alcohol. Do not hesitate to ask for a taste of the local cask ale before getting yourself a pint. The casks change regularly so its good to ask and pick one you like. They also have a wide selection of international beers that make for a good evening !!

Another day, another Wetherspoons. This one for a Sunday Breakfast. It’s right next to George Square that is teaming with activity in preparation for the Women’s World Championships race that finishes nearby. Of the half dozen or so Spoons we’ve visited in the past couple of weeks this one is in the most architecturally impressive space. Good food and good service as usual. Good fruit bowl as were the decent hot drinks from the self-service machine. Plus again after the race was over.

Excellent value , great if you are looking to have a couple of bevys for minimal cost in a cool environment. Just outside town square to boot. People come here to drink not have a fine service experience. Use the app for table service if you don’t want to stand at the bar waiting.

As Whetherspoons go this was great, no complaints whatsoever. Obviously bearing in mind the usual expectation of it being tightly packed and busy. We visited as a group of four on an evening/dinner time. We all ordered separately via the app at the table (as it was very busy at the bar). The app was easy to use and the food came out roughly together and quicker than we expected. I tried the haggis pizza, on a recommendation from a (very) close by table and it was delicious. Everything was clean and staff were friendly despite them being run off their feet.

Amazing place with food that comes in large size at great price. Interior is super nice with glass dome. Outside there is huge garden where probably around hundred people can sit and enjoy a pint during a nice day.

One of the greatest Wetherspoon I have been.I haven’t been many years for food in Wetherspoons and on my recent visit I was surprised about how much they change the quality of the food. We ordered couple of side plates that’s was very tasty and amazing value. And even tho is busy the service was fast.

Always a great place to start a night out! we ended up in an old cellar at the back, it was nice and cool as well as blocking most of the noise from how busy it was! It was a good buzzin atmosphere inside. The food is alwayssss class and the drinks are cheap and cheerful!

It’s a great location to grab a bite to eat and drink whilst waiting for a train. It’s right near Queen Street station and pretty central location. There is an outside seating area and the interior is very grande snd spacious. The service was fairly swiftly considering how busy it was too.

This was a lovely pub to go drinking at, with a magnificent design on the ceiling! The bar is well-presented too, chandeliers add to the atmosphere and the staff were friendly. Me and my friend enjoyed cocktails at only £5 each, sitting comfortably at a clean table which still had space despite it being so busy!

Counting House the place to be for breakfast, lunch and diner. Wide variety of beer and wiskey. More then comparative prices, due to partly selfservice.
