Terrific food, atmosphere & staff. Lovely surroundings , good wine also. The soup and fish cake starters were great. I had the burger and my husband had fish, we were both full to the brim.
There is a formal restaurant upstairs, but we opted to go for a more relaxed gastropub experience in the bar this time. The bar area is in the basement of a traditional Glasgow tenement and the interior decor is a classic stripped stone and dark wood look, which gives it a really cosy Scottish feel.

I thought I had booked the fancier upstairs dining room for Saturday lunch but when we got there, there was no one to be found. Staff or customers! Which allowed us to stroll around the upstairs unhindered. Parts seem a bit in need of tlc others look excellent.
We eventually found our way downstairs to the bar/restaurant. Friendly and informal staff. We opted to do without starters and have main and dessert.
With the main course, it was simple, good quality, well cooked, pub grub. I had 6 OZ Steak Burger with a side of red cabbage coleslaw topped with Dunlop Cheddar and Ayrshire Bacon. Served in a Toasted Bun with Handcut Chips and House Relish. (£10.95)
For dessert I choose the Scottish Cheese selection, Dunlop Cheddar, Strathdon Blue and a Brie, with oatcakes, seasonal chutney apple & grapes, steady if not spectacular. (£6.95)
Great local pub, great selection of beers, good food, great service. Managed to watch the rugby he too … great atmosphere and nice wee sweet spot.
First time visiting. Walked past it when trying to find it. I am glad I double backed 🤪. Service could not fault, atmosphere not too busy just how I like it (even though owner might not 😂). Food was lovely. Only fault. More roasties less carrot and greens 😉
We are visiting Glasgow for the weekend and wanted a Sunday Roast, The Drake did not disappoint! We had a wonderful meal! Service was great!
More well known for its food and Sunday roast dinners it’s a slightly different style of bar. Very discreet and low key. If your looking for somewhere you can converse or catch your thoughts I would recommend. Barman very friendly and a homely vibe
We were a large group going for Sunday lunch (9 people and 1 dog), and the team at the Drake were so accommodating, we had a great time. The ambience and the service were great, and the food was also fantastic. You could tell the meat was high quality and was cooked perfectly. The cheeseboard was a highlight and it was great value for money. We agreed it was probably the best roast dinner we've had out at a pub/restaurant. Would highly recommend and thank you to the team at the Drake for such a good lunch!
Fantastic veggie burger! There were a few vegetarian options catching my attention however I opted for the beetroot, carrot and chickpea burger. It was not what I expected with a crunchy battered coating to a soft delicious filling in a bun. It was Good!! Chips were fabulous too - big chucky pieces of potato cooked perfectly.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful too.
Went for some food on New Year's Day and the service was excellent, I think the kitchen maybe struggled with the amount of tables, unfortunately, but the food itself was very good. I enjoyed the cocktails and I think it's a lovely wee pub. I'd definitely recommend the place.
Came here for the Sunday Roast. Everything on the plate from the main to the sides were very good, especially the cauliflower. The servers were friendly.
I showed up on a Sunday afternoon after a tough morning of traveling mix ups and misunderstanding. I asked for table for one and was told they were full. The look on my face must have said it all because the host said "I have this counter space available if you don't mind." I happily agreed that it was fine.

I live close to this so use it as a local pub. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. The service is always great. In winter the real log fire is a welcome warmer creating a lovely atmosphere. There is a small beer garden area at the rear but it has limited sunlight. Two plates of fish and chips and two glasses of wine came to £40 including the tip. Typical prices for the area, great quality. Would recommend.
One of the best sunday roasts I've ever had!
Myself and partner came yesterday for a Sunday roast was outstanding food & excellent Service. Wish I knew about this place before, Felt very comfortable! If I hadent of been driving would of loved to tried the cocktails, always next time! On the way out every staff member made the effort to smile and wave goodbye very pleasent. Will be back!

Food seems to be high end bar foods but they do have a kids menu. I will be going there again in the future.
Great food and a low price compared to similar local places at the same caliber :) oh and dogs are welcome, I. Fact they love dogs :-D
My favourite Sunday Roast in Glasgow! An absolute treat. The waiters & waitresses are lovely. I had the courgette bhaji with curry mayo & roast chicken with all the trimmings. The courgette bhaji was probably one of my favourite starter’s I’ve had in years. Absolutely delicious - when I praised it to the waiter he told me they run curry nights every so often (I’m really going to keep my eyes peeled for this as a result). Yum! And the roast chicken was phenomenal. Succulent roast chicken with all the trimmings & all cooked perfectly.
They have a great variety of cocktails & drinks too I’ll most definitely be back for another roast & such lovely service.
