I went here a few weeks ago. We had a 3 course meal from the 3 for £20 menu and the food was exceptional. The cocktails were a little strong for my taste but we're still good. The staff were amazing, 5* service and the restaurant was immaculate. Also Jamie Oliver cook books were available to buy for £10 so I bought 2 for at home!

I was very surprised at the high quality of the food. I guess I was expecting something tacky, I don't know. But the food was delicious. The service was great, and very well-versed with the menu. The ambience was terrific, cozy and family style without being too quaint. Really enjoyable experience all in all.

This was my first visit to Jamie’s Italian. I’d heard quite mixed reviews about the restaurants but I was keen to try them out for myself. My husband and I popped in for the Evening Meal Deal and had a really lovely meal. Our waiter was attentive and we never felt rushed or anything was too much of a hassle. All our food was great, I never sampled any of the cocktails but I will do the next time I’m in. Jamie’s Italian is particularly perfect for catching up with friends, family meals, a quick bite to eat or longer meals with your partner. Jamie's Italian also caters well for those with food allergies. The online menu lets you select which meals are appropriate for a range of allergies.

We had a fantastic meal here last night. It was a bit pricey and will only be for special occasions. The staff and food were fab!

Nice mushroom starter but no minestrone soup which was strange for an Italian eaterie, sirloin steak was more like rump but quite tasty just the same. It was quite good value for the money and the polenta chips should get a mention for their quality, superb. 7 out of 10 overall.

Our experience was positive. Early lunch and quickly seated. Kids food out first and quickly. Wild boar salami was excellent. Ravioli had a good sauce and well cooked. Portion sizes were ok.

Today's Lunch. We went to Jamie's Italian in Glasgow today, one word - Amazing! we loved it! We booked a table for 12.30 and were running late, called to say that we would be 15 mins late and were told its not a problem. We were taken to our table by Leon, who was extremely friendly and efficient. The home baked breads were fantastic, pasta was delicious and the surroundings were rustic and relaxed. They seem to have found their feet and resolved any teething problems, as my experience there was a great one.

Yummy. If you're criticising Jamie's Italian, maybe it's just that you're choosing the wrong dishes. I know some of the items on the menu are a bit boring like spag bol and chicken in a tomato and olive sauce. But I have to say the Roquefort winter salad is wonderful as a starter, the chicken liver tortellini is absolutely out of this world (and new on the autumn 2011 menu!) and as for the Amalfi lemon curd, well, oooh you just have to try it and see! Enjoy...

Had a late lunch today in Jamies Italian. There was 6 of us, and we were seated in a booth - bit of a squeeze - had to ask for an extra seat on the end of the booth! We had some nice bread and olives, brushetta and crispy squid. Mains arrived in good time - grilled pork with potato (specials board), Italian burger, risotto (a little watery, an not too many mushrooms), spaghetti carbonara, and a good old bolognese. All washed down with lashings of Sauvignon Blanc, iced tap water, Irn Bru, Coke and fresh apple juice. Panacotta coffee and hot chocolate followed, an the total bill came to £185. This included 10% service charge which was fair enough with 6 of us. Didn't leave a tip. Overall, and considering it was an afternoon meal, the place was buzzing, and the staff were attentive. Not too much to complain about, but didn't leave very excited and REALLY wanting to go back. 7/10.

Very nice restaurant, negative reviews are unfair. Last Wednesday I had a great evening at Jamie's Italian. Around 19:00h the restaurant was already packed.
I cannot say dishes were overpriced or to small. Especially when the most expensive starter is 6,95 Pounds! Also the main course was very reasonable of price. I had Tortellini for 10 Pounds. In the Benelux you can't even get a starter for that price.
Staff was very friendly. We sat there for more than three hours. The tables surrounding us were taken at least 3 times more and our waiter (Leon) didn't care. He just kept on serving and having a chat with us. He didn't even try pushing us out of the restaurant.

My opinion is, that it is a great, attractive restaurant with great food and great service. You expect a restaurant of a famous chef like Jamie Oliver to be very expensive, but in fact it's the opposite.
I highly recommend everyone to visit it and have a great time!

Queuing for Lunch!!!!!!. This much hyped eatery was top of my list when visiting Glasgow. However, I wasn't banking on the 30 minutes wait to get a table (reservations can't be made for lunch!!)
Once inside, I found the food to be of a high standard with acceptable levels of service. MERLIN

Just Perfect. Did any of the people on here who gave this place a bad review actually go to thr resturant they are slating.
From the minute we arrived we were treated like royalty. Yes there was a bit of a queue, yes there was a bit of a wait down stairs in the bar. but once we were seated the service was extremally personal. We were brought to our table by a lovely waitress who was knoledgeable and friendly.
The food was out of this world. It was fresh and plentiful. The bread was great and enough for two to nibble along to as we ate our starter. The Mains were just perfect. Spaghetti Bolognese and tha Tagliatelle with truffle. Wow.
As for the price. We got one starter, a basket of gormet bread, two main courses, a portion of posh chips (Chips with parmesan and truffle oil) and a desert. This came to £36.
Seriously £36 quid. I went with the intention of trying the place as a once off. Well I will be going back, and the sooner, the better.
The resturant is beautiful. Its not a Shrine to Jamie Oliver, Aye you can buy some bits and peices, but they are certainly not in your face and its not being touted.
I loved the entire experience. I would recomment this to anyone. £36 quid. I still cant get over it.

Good food decent value. The food here is good & not overpriced but for Italian I don't think it's the best in Glasgow - I was with a large group so got to taste lots of different bits & everyone enjoyed their food but I know La Vita still came out trumps with a few of us. The puddings were easily the best part - outstanding. We would definitely go back but wouldn't wait for an hour to get a table.

Fresh, interesting, rustic as creative Italian food, beautifully presented. I'm not sure what so many people are givin bad reviews for but having eaten here several times I can say the food is delicious. Try the 3 varieties of bruscetta, the mezzo platter, any of the fresh pasta and undoubtedly the best pannacotta anywhere.

Mixed Bag.... First, the painfully bourgeois clientele of Glasgow need to grow up: the best thing that has happened here is a restaurant that doesn't bend to a small town mentality about 'bookings'. If the rest would follow suit, perhaps the street culture and general ambiance of Glasgow would improve beyond a bunch of yuppies running to and from their cars.

I've been to Jamie's three times. The first: great. The second, skimpy portions. The third: the front of house was typical paid-by-the-hour, uninterested, sat me and my business partner and my partner, who were out for a birthday lunch, under the stairs in the cramped bar - although there were seats upstairs. The food is generally ok, but the portions are too small for the prcie points.

All in all Glasgow can't seem to handle a cosmopolitan restaurant, and this particular restaurant location needs to up its game. I'm waiting to be a big fan.

Good grub. Went with my friend just after noon on Monday. Seated immediately by a really nice waitress. Gave us plenty time to choose our meal Offered us tap water, not overpriced mineral water. Had a lovely meal and what my friend liked was the fact that they offered small portions. She does not eat much at lunchtime. I had aburger. Quite spectacular! Very tasty. It was a real surprise as I thought it would be over priced and pretentious. Not so! I discovered the next day that a lady who goes to college with me had also been there. She thought it great too. Will go back

I Like it.. We went ( four girls) on a Thursday evening and were a little apprehensive having read the reviews.
As we were unable to reserve a table we arrived around 7.30pm anticipating a long wait.
We were told it would be around an hours wait so headed to the bar. We Ordered 3 cosmopolitans (which were fantastic) and an Orange Juice freshly squeezed (kept our driver happy) and settled down for our wait. After 20 mins to our surprise our table was ready.
Our waiter was extremely pleasant and attentive and exceptionally knowledgeable helping us make our choices when ordering.
The food was fantastic. The moules marinere linguine special was delicious and the antipasti selection was great and well presented. With 5 differant meats and two cheeses, we were told in great detail about there different flavours.
I cannot rate The King Scallops high enough, and my friends who tried the meatballs and Steak were also full of compliments.
Although the Dessert selection is limited, we did our best, the Sorbet was suberb, the ice creams with various toppings perfect and the Chocolate and amaretto Brownie ........ sheer Heaven.
If you are looking for margarita Pizza ........ go to di maggios, however if you are looking for a reasonably priced authentic italian well give Jamies a try.

Fab!!. Having read all the dismal & disappointing reviews on here, I was unsure how my experience of Jamie's Italian would be. I visited on a Tuesday night, just after 6pm, greeted by very friendly staff who showed us to a table downstairs immediately. Our server gave us sufficient time to get settled then arrived with menus and offered glasses of water while we looked at the menu. Prices are pretty reasonable and worth paying as our food was delicious. I had the Carbonara which was lovely, clearly freshly made pasta and very tasty unlike another review I have read on here! My friend had the Ravioli which was also delicious but she was left wanting more as the portion size was a bit on the small side. Desserts were also wonderful and I have to recommend the Ultimate Chocolate Raspberry & Amaretto Brownie with Bourbon Ice Cream - OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! Overall, I though the place was great. Staff were friendly, easy to get hold of if you needed anything and checked everything was ok with each course. Their electronic way of taking you order is great as they are able to tell you there & then if they had ran out of something unlike some other restaurants I have been to! To those who complain about waiting so long for a table, I suggest trying it on a quieter/midweek night. Will totally be making a return visit!

Good, but why wait. I visited JO's with my husband and well behaved 2 year old on Saturday at 12.45. We had a 15 minute wait downstairs in the bar. The service was pleasant enough, but (most of) the waiting staff don't appear to have been recruited on the basis of their amazing customer service skills, they seemed a little too rushed - but they did have great hair :). I think thats fair enough because its all about show really isn't it? its supposed to be part of the "experience" Ahem.
We shared squid and a meat antipasti to start, which was good - but why the chilli jam on the pecorino? Odd. Anyway, I had the truffle tagliatelle to follow but a small portion and it was really good. Husband had frutti di mare platter - which was ok, big amount of battered fish really presented very well. Bread and oil delicious. Small well behaved child had childrens bolognese - there was food for children, on a retro viewer so they could look themselves, but no prices and no kids desserts! Hmm. I liked it, it was really nice, different menu and a good buzz. I wish other people were a little bit more considerate of other though with their children - little "darlings" running around restaurants is a pain for all - please keep them in their seats! Its not all about them....
HOWEVER, myself and two girl friends tried to go last night at 6pm (Thursday) and were told it was an 1hrs wait! Get lost. Its NOT that good. So we went elsewhere - brilliant and ever reliable Italian Cafe in Merchant City.
So Jamies is good, and it is what it is, but you'll not get many people queing outside in November in the pouring rain.....

Very good food. Go early to avoid having to wait for a table. We had pasta dishes as starters, a steak and the lamb dish for main course and two desserts. We also shared a bottle of wine, in total (including tip) we spent £80. In summary, worth it for a special occasion.

Great.. After hearing mixed reviews about this place, I was rather apprehensive to check it out and see how it delivered. Me and the rest of the clan decided to give it a go last night and we were pleasantly overwhelmed.

The service was good, the waiters very attentive and friendly and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant is very warming.

We were told there would be a wait of about 45minutes for our table, we decided to go downstairs for drinks while we waited. However, the table was ready after only 20 minutes of waiting! Jamie's Italian has a system where they give waiting tables a buzzing black device to inform you when your table was ready. Handy!

For our starters, We had the bread selection, meat board antipasti, rice and mozzarella balls to share. Each dish was full of flavour.

For mains, we ordered two portions of Meatballs, which came with a really unusual pasta, but delicious nonetheless. I had one of the lamb lollipops, which was by far the best lamb i've ever eaten. You need to try this! Two portions of the garlic chips and one portion of polenta and rosemary hand-cut chips were also ordered - they are divine!

The meals are averagely priced, but for what you get you will realise that it is worth it!

I will definitely be returning!

Very canteen like in atmosphere - close together tables, the kind of place you eat and leave!

Food is OK, sounds good on the menu but for the price, overpriced.

I set an online reservation 3 months ahead from Toronto. The interior is gorgeous.. the staff professional, incredibly personable, and efficient. The Weekly special was Ndjua Casarecce and was gorgeous. The perfect balance of heat and savoury. This was our first restaurant to visit while in Glasgow and it was worth every penny.

What a spectacular lunch! The cost was well under the average of the immediate area and a great portion and service. I would definitely go back, though the cut of steak on the lunch menu for an additional charge was not for me. Lesson learned! The baked ravioli appetizer was perfectly sized and lovely, would definitely get that again.

Had an absolutely amazing meal here. The staff were so attentive and helpful. Sophia who served us was beyond brilliant and went the extra mile to make us feel well looked after. She was always friendly and waiting for the table which sometimes took a long time. She was also engaged in conversation with us which was nice and had a great personality. The food was outstanding and couldn't fault it. Stand out dish was the lobster ravioli. We didn't think it was too expensive and thought it on par in terms of price with many other Italian places in Glasgow.

Nice restaurant to come with friends or family. We made the reservation for big table. I brough a discount promotion which given from the Cineworld 4Dx ticket (40% discount for the main courses, valid from 1 Apr-31 July18). They serves wines and signature cocktails. Lots of vegetarian menus available. Ask for the daily special menu, its fab! I ordered Pasta, pizza ,steak) and tiramisu and gelato! The shop environment is lovely. The wait here was so friendly and suggest me on choosing the good dishes.

Couldn't fault it, it's a chain restaurant but everything we had didn't seem to be mass produced. Service was great. My only complaint was the amount of tables crammed in and where we were sat was a main thoroughfare so we had half the restaurant walking passed us.

We ordered apps, half portions of pasta and a side and dessert and drinks. We went all out. Me and my husband were pleasantly surprised. Everything tasted as good as it sounded! Prices were decent. Server was nice. Have nothing bad to say. Have no idea what the bad reviews are founded on. Maybe they don't know what good authentic Italian food is all about.

Restaurant's location is super central, great to look at George Square. Spent NYE here, food and atmosphere were great! We tried the festive 3-course menu and we were not disappointed. Staff was very nice, pace was good and dishes were well balanced and of appropriate size. Slightly overpriced but worth it. Pleasantly surprised by the polenta fries and the shared cheese/antipasti platter. Would recommend giving it a go!
