As pizza places go, this was above average. Good portion sizes and very tasty and prices much in line with other city centre venues. I scored 4 stars instead of 5 due to the staff. On a quiet day where there was only a scattering of other tables in the restaurant at the time, I would have expected

Great quality of food and fast service, had a salad and ask to add some roasted tomatoes. For 2 pounds more I upgraded the salad to a very tasty meal.

I would normally eschew as chain but I love Pizza Express. I think their name doesn't even do them justice. Their vegan menu is excellent and the new vegan calzone is actually exceptional. the dough balls alone are delicious enough to keep me coming to pizza express again and again. the pizza's are brilliant, and are served quickly, with speed and efficiency. i feel that they should try to explain this using their name somehow.

Always good pizza, service is pleasant but slow even on quiet days. Good for a quick bite but not the ambiance for a long, leisurely dinner as it always seems to be full of families with small (noisy) children!
