came across this place by chance and had an incredible meal here.Highly recommend for the food...not for those that judge a book by the cover or like lush surroundings but great food and great value

This is the one fine place to find out South Indian delicacies. We had masala dosa, media vada with sambhar and Gulab jamun. The dosa wasn't that spicy as we get in India. I think the reason is they have to serve it to the localities too. Otherwise the taste of the food and desert is really nice. A big thumbs up to the team. A must recommended restaurant.

Banana Leaf is the closest thing you can get to authentic south Indian food in Glasgow. The chicken meals are absolutely brilliant - the food is spicy and served with butter paranthas. On occasion, I've ordered up to 4 extra paranthas. :P
The dosas are good too, the only downside being that you have to pay for extra sambhar.
All in all, a must try.

Indian Food Authentic. Amazing food and fantastic value. The only Indian establishment that I now revisit. Goodbye bad curries and overpriced venues.

Thank goodness for this place.... Feel free to read my review on Mr India's West End Balti and Dosa House to understand why me and my partner are so happy to have found this place...
The aforementioned restaurant didn't even know what a masala dosa was! Seriously...
This place, well they got it bang on, and at a not bad price too!
It's closer to a café surrounding, not that that bothers me. We're not candles on the table, low lighting type of diners anyway! If we go to an eaterie I'm most interested in the food!
We had starters, instead of going for the bog standard get-them-anywhere pakoras we ordered the potato bondas and yoghurt vadai. The bondas were tasty as anything, and the yoghurt vadai a nice compliment.
The masala dosa did indeed come with sambar, coconut chutney as well as a red curry/chutney (I'm not certain it's exact name but it was tasty!) Much more what I'm used to when I've had masala dosas in London!
Will definitely go again, they had a good selection of nice sounding curries on the menu, and though I'm not a vegetarian I could certainly eat a complete, tasty meal without even straying into the non-veggie part of the menu!
In fact, I can't wait to go again!

I will go again and again as this place is cost effective, authentic taste. They have the best Indian food in Glasgow. South Indian to be precise. The spice level is not milder to cater to local taste so if you have the heart to try authentic South Indian food this is your place. Please note they do not serve alcohol. The quality is good and the price is reasonable.

As an Indian, I can confirm the authenticity and use of accurate spices in these dishes! Loved everything that I ate:) - Service can be a bit slow sometimes, but never that bad. - It is super cheap, I just spent £6 on lunch 😋 - There is a small shop kind of section, where you can buy some ‘not available at Tesco’ spices!

Authentic south Indian food and probably one of the best in Scotland. Home like food at a very affordable price and very satisfying portions. Would recommend to try banana leaf @ 192 StVincent Street.

I can say, one of the best Indian authentic restaurant in Glasgow, UK. I tried south indian style Batata Wada, Prawns dish, chapati and papad. All tried dishes were tasty and delicious in fair price. Cheaper than other Indian restaurants. Serves pure authentic Indian taste. Satisfied!! You must try it at least once!!

A must visit place, homely vibes, portion size is fairly good, taste is very good and price are affordable compared to other south Indian restaurants. We order 3 dosa, 1 vada and a rice dish (I forgot name) and bill just came under 30£ for 3 people which is so fantastic.

Visited for the first time and liked the food. We ordered dosa, gobi 65 and veg set meals . Gobi 65 and veg set meals are good and tasty. Dosa can be roasted more so it will improve the taste but overall we liked the food.

Awesome and authentic South Indian food. One of the best I've tried in the UK.. Prices are very reasonable and one person can eat his fill in less than 10 pounds.
