We have ordered from here a few times. My husband loves their chicken pakora! I went for the chicken and egg curry - and it was delicious! I would have liked it hotter so I will ask for that next time. Lamb bhuna was great. Fast delivery also. I think we would order from here more often if they had a set menu.
Theeee best curry ever! I've been coming here with my family for nearly 30 years and can honestly say that it is the best indian restaurant ever. As I fan of curry I have tried them all over the world and the Alishan wins hands down every time. The owners are lovely too! There is a big menu but if you're not sure what to choose just ask one of the owners (Ali or Chico are always there) and tell them what sort of thing you fancy and they will pick something to suit your taste...I do this often for a little bit of variety :)
Magic food and the friendliest owners. Always beyond very good. The take away is also the same standard with the best and biggest Naans.
Not the nicest decor inside but by far the best restaurant in Glasgow. An excellent personal service delivered from the owner, allowing you to customise your meal exactly the way you want it. Have visited many times and will continue to return for a long time.
Great Indian and well worth.... A great Indian and well worth trying. Decor is stereotypical, but the food is great. Takeaway and home deliveries an option.

Most excellent Glasgow southside Asian restaurant. Huge menu. Staff also pride themselves on making any dish you may desire. The restaurant is on Battlefield rd opposite Langside College at junction of Holmlea Rd..Tonight we had pakora mix ( 4 varieties of your own choice followed by Keema Lamb Masala( minced lamb ) and chicken Korma with pilau rice and Peshwari Nan. excellent, tasty and delicious. Thoroughly recommended. ๐๐
9/1/23 Visited tonight again with friend who had not been before
Food was exquisite as usual. Chicken tikka on a bed of fried onions with Patia sauce accompaniment was very tasty. This is the perfect place for atmosphere for eating and conversing without any loud music or noise. 19/8/23 No changes. Usual standard of excellence. Tonight was a sharing experience. Pakora mix of Veg,Chicken, mushroom and cauliflower followed by Tandoori mixed platter of Lamb, chicken and King Prawn accompanied by pilau rice and Peshwari Nan. Another evening of culinary delights๐
My friend and I came here prior to going to a gig at Hampden Park.
It was absolutely wonderful.
One of the best Indian meals I have ever had!!!

We went as a party of 6, my partners son took us. It doesn't look much from the outside ,but don't judge a book by its cover. Inside a warm welcome from Chico and his staff. The menu is like a book and if you still can't find anything or not sure ask Chico to get Chef to knock something up. To give you an idea of the menu choice 16 different nans, 13 different flavoured rices made of pure Basmati . They blend different sauces to come up with unique flavours. My partner went for a Chicken Schaslik which came with a salad and rice. I had Janter Manter very nice medium to hot. Washed down with mineral water and diet cokes as no alcohol aloud in Glasgow.
The best curry house I've been in.
Some may say a little expensive.
But you pay for quality and that's what you get with excellent service and friendly banter from Chico and staff.
Well worth a visit.
Excellent food, tasted very fresh. Fantastic service too.
Went with a friend, excellent food and service. Will be back!
I've used this restaurant many times and always received a good service and good standard of food.
Absolutely delicious food, excellent and very friendly service with a nice and familiar flair. Highly recommended.
The decor is very Indian (at least I saw similar in India), which means that I find it a bit kitsch - but that's purely a matter of opinion.
Went with a group of mates, service was great and welcoming. Food fantastic
Always great food and service, would recommend ๐
Food is always high standard take away or sit in friendly and helpful staff
Food is second to none and the staff are lovely. Best Indian
Best food on the south side with excellent service
Loved it here. Visited on Saturday with my partner and father in law and his partner. Food was great. Starter was quick to the table and was freshly made with decent sized portions. Mains did take a while though but it did get quite busy so wasn't a major issue. Mains were fresh, hot and big portions. Special thanks to the old waiter who was full of banter and jokes. Will definitely be back.
My wife and I always look forward to our takeaways from this excellent establishment ,one night we will go the whole way and go in for a sit down to enjoy this amazing restaurant in all its spicy glory ,the staff are always polite and the food is to die for
Despite the little eclectic interior, the food was delicious here and the waiters were all super friendly and helpful with choosing dishes. Iโd totally recommend.
I travel an unusual distance to frequent this restaurant, passing many like establishments. I have been unable to find an Indian restaurant of similar quality within my area.
The Alishan is simply brilliant. We had friends over from America who like curry and we took them out on the last day of the holiday. Alishan is local to us and its the most friendly place u can imagine plus the food is great . We usually take out but we all sat in this time and had a delicious meal. Full marks for everything ๐๐๐๐
I recently had the pleasure of dining with a friend here at The Alishan. We received a warm welcome by the owner on arrival. The establishment was small but cosy. The owner has been in business for 33 years. He and a young new waitress who had only been working there for two weeks. They were both very attentive without being overbearing, and injected humour into the conversation, which made my friend and I feel comfortable.
The owner was happy to recommend dishes for me, from the menu, once preferences had been identified.
All dishes ordered were very fresh and succulent, and incredibly tasty. Portion size was also generous and thus were suitably priced.
The Alishan is well worth trying for those who have a penchant for Asian dining. It is my hope to return on my next visit up to Glasgow.
Lovely food. Great advice and good chat
