Top notch quality place all food freshly made on order super fast and excellent service highly recommended for dining in or out, give them a try...
Consistently good.. I have been going to this place for months and it delivers every time. The staff are lovely, the food is top quality and it is just wonderful.
An absolute highlight is the full English breakfast. The ingredients are impeccable.
This is highly recommended.
A cracking wee place for brunch in the southside. 7/10
Love it.. I don't know why this place has mixed reviews. I live in the neighborhood and have been to it many times. It's a friendly, relaxed place and the food is simple, top quality and reasonably priced. The deli food they sell is nice too, and the special dinners that they do occasionally are well worth the cost. Highly recommended.
Amazing does not do it justice. Hey there,
I have to say, for a lil place on Pollokshaws Road this place is amazing. All their food is wonderfully fresh, the service is great, and its all very well priced. How the heck its got a low rating is beyond me.
I've been for breakfast and lunch a few times, and have never been disappointed.
Personal fav of mine is the french toast with bacon... what a way to start the day.
Be sure you don't miss this little Gem of Glasgow.
The food is great. You can tell the guy cooking really means it- he makes his own sausages, trust me they're fantastic. agree the decor and ambience aren't great, but significantly superior to it's crusty, lazy neighbour, Tapa.
Quality food does the talking. G&R is constantly good.
Not sure the deli/shop aspect of G&R works certainly Cookie on Nithsdale Rd. has the edge in this respect and the decor is more functional than cool destination although pleasant enough - it's a nice place to eat not somewhere to hang out and read the paper for any length of time.
The food is where G&R really shines. My last visit was for breakfast scrambled eggs on brown toast (beautiful bread, think crunchy outside and soft in the middle) well priced at £4, the visit prior to that a pasta dish of Gnocchi with Chorizo and Shallots a bargain at £6. Staff are always friendly, menu changes daily and the bill is usually less than you were expecting.
The specials are the way to go, always somthing fantastic and always attention to detail - point in case "crushed" new potoatos to acompany a sausage stew, ideal for picking up more sauce! perfect.
High point - homemade sausages they are EPIC!
Low point - a seriously lazy macaroni cheese that i had once as we were too late for breakfast (see homemade sausages above), so much cheese i had to spend the rest of the day in bed hiding from the acid trip goblins that were dancing around in front of my eyes. In hindsight a bad choice given the hangover, it was never going to work.
I'd recommend G&R - the quality of the cooking sets the bar high for the local competition to aim for.
Good value cafe deli on the Southside. Menu is varied from cakes to lunches and full breakfast. Food is excellent quality, their beef lasagne is the best I have ever tasted. Deli section has a good range of produce. They also open earlier than most on a Sunday which is fantastic if you want breakfast before midday..
Local deli/cake/cafe near to Queens Park. Nicely decorated and informal, relaxed style.
The sandwiches are tasty and well worth seeking out.
Perfect! Amazing food, coffee drinks and freshly made smoothies. We are gluten free and the options were great (they make their own gluten free bread). The Florentine egg bake was to die for! The Italian sandwich was also excellent with high quality meats and cheese- served with a fresh salad and unique little potato salad. The whole staff was lovely and very friendly too! We were so lucky to find this place!
Really good options on the menu and the food was really tasty. Probably one of the best value for money brunch places in south side of Glasgow. Would definitely recommend for good sandwiches and brunch dishes.
Healthy and delish food choices, can accommodate those with allergies and friendly service. There will be a wait on the weekend but just grab a coffee and relax, it’s worth it!
Absolutely beautiful breakfast. I would go as far as saying possibly the best breakfast I have had. Would highly recommend. I could tell that all the ingredients were only the best quality but yet the prices are so reasonable. Service was great too. Amazing all round!
So good, we all had the breakfast with all the trimmings.
Definitely one of the best brunches I've had in Glasgow, and not expensive.
Definitely going back, great coffee, great food and brilliant service
Muy sabroso!!! (So delicious). Really busy and people queuing is a good sing. portions, flavor, prices, service! GREAT. And if you get tor read a different review, well things happen, maybe wasn't your day, mine was and I love it, I'm coming back tomorrow. 😉😀
This is the super fresh and super yummy Escape from Crete sandwich sans Halloumi, I thought it was so nice they asked if I wanted extra vegetables. Probably the best Oat Latte I’ve had in Glasgow. Lovely people. Thanks so much!
Been going here for a while. Quick service, Good customer service and even better food! Coffee is really nice here. Great for a quick bite or a chill morning to yourself
Well run and tasty cafe/brunch spot. Lots of variety on the menu, including vegan and veggie options. Coffee was particularly good.
Lovely quick breakfasts, English breakfast tea was perfect. A little hot and humid with little to no air circulation but didn't take away from the food!
