The food was very good and the staff were pleasant. We had the Steak Pie and Haggis Lasagna, and opted for 2 courses. I had Haddock Potato soup (in the US we would call it a chowder). My husband opted for his second course to be dessert and had the cheesecake. We love sharing food so we get a variety. We were very pleased with the portions and the flavors of all the food. The waitstaff seemed a little under staffed but handled it with grace. We appreciate their professionalism.
First day in Scotland and wanted to get some delicious fish and chips, Mharsanta did not disappoint! Quality of the food was excellent and was exactly what I wanted. Followed that up with some apple pie for a perfect overall meal. Service and atmosphere was also great and would definitely go back next time I’m in Glasgow.
We had an excellent experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and the food was fantastic!
They even let us in early when they saw us standing outside in the miserable weather - thanks!
Haggis is now on the list of foods I love. The staff are friendly and the service is excellent. The food is top-notch, scotish done right. My family all enjoyed their meals immensely.
Fabulois place with authenic scottish food and produce. Menue offers every corner of Scottish traditional specialities with a modern twist. Some local sea food and a huggis variations that taste and look excellent. From drinks, food, desrts, ambient, decour and music, you can experince Scotland will all senses. Prime location in merchant city. We went for a bussiness meal for six and each course was fabulous. Joy to the eye and taste buds. Portions are generous and prices competative with local area with mains between £15 -£20 worth every penny. There is a fine dining, secluded area available downstairs for more official parties. Top floor is more casual with tartan morives and greenery of highlands. Toilets are clean and specious. Service was very quick and waiting team was very friendly and attentive. Supervisor Ellie helped us accomodate to our group's needs and made us very welcome. Must come place if visiting Scotland or for tasting good Scottish food.
I am tourist and never try Scotish food but overall the experience is okie. They have aet menu that is value for money, the staff is patient to explain the menu to me. Big serving.
Pork medallion is almost perfect. Creamy mushroom taste perfect. Vegetable is beautifully cooked. Potatoes is great. Pork is a bit overcooked.
Had a small intimate wedding in the room downstairs. I would recommend this place for any small gathering. From beginning to end, they accommodated us. Fast at emailing back any queries . Set up everything as we asked. The service all day was excellent and the food was delicious. I really cannot thank them enough for making it such a memorable day.
Another one of these Merchant City restaurants I'd been meaning to visit for a while and unfortunately another mixed experience.
The starter of Cullen Skink was perfect. It's difficult to make a bad Cullen Skink but this was definitely at the top end. And the main of haggis lasagne was very filling. Unfortunately the bread served with the soup was paper thin and any attempt to butter it was futile unless softened under a hot soup bowl. And the brownie dessert while nice was seriously overpriced for the size of portion.
All in all, a lovely Scottish restaurant - well decorated with attentive staff - but a couple of things that meant I can't bring myself to give it 5 stars
I got a bowl of Cullen Skink, I liked it except I find it much too salty. The haggis Scotch egg was also good, except the sauce that came with it didn’t work well or compliment the dish at all. The sticky toffee pudding was nice.
The restaurant had a good atmosphere, quite dark, and the waitresses were kind and friendly. The food came out very quickly.
Took my English friend here to try some traditional Scottish food. It was delicious, I had the haggis, neeps & tatties, it was soooo good! Think I'll take all my visitors here so they can get the proper Scottish experience
Fantastic place with great food and buzzing atmosphere.
Service was good, just about attentive enough.
We had the haggis bon bons for starter and I had the steak and sausage pie, which was excellent, and my wife had the Chicken Balmoral.
Would love to go back when we visit Glasgow again, great time had
Enjoyed a delightful meal at Mharsanta Glasgow. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the menu boasts a selection of authentic Scottish dishes. Service was impeccable, and every dish was a testament to the rich culinary heritage of the region. A must-visit spot in Glasgow!
I entered into a food coma... to the point that I totally forgot my take-away tub on the table and realised only 20 minutes after I've left the place.
Lovely food and amazing staff.
We will definitely go back.
I had a great experience at that restaurant. The server, a young man who claimed was of Polish origin, was friendly and answered all our questions with enthusiasm and provided great advice. I had the haggis and my girlfriend has the vegetarian variant and we both really enjoyed it! Of my whole trip across Scotland, it was hands down the best haggis with neeps and tatties I've had. The desserts were also fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone seeking the best Scottish cuisine dinner experience in Glasgow.
