Three course on a groupon. The shared platter for starters was a standard, Parmalat ham, prosciutto and garlicy bread was good. The dessert was alson a standard sundea that was also good. My main, being a simple carbonate, was excellent. A simple, 5 ingredients but done to perfection. You can tell a lot about a place by how well they do the easy stuff. This was a great example of well done.
The restaurant itself was well set out, staff attentive but not overbearing. Service as you would expect.

Lovely. What a lovely place. We rarely venture over the road to Trongate but when we do we always made a note to go to this place. We went on Saturday night. The place was really busy so I would recommend booking. When we arrived there was a queue out the door of people waiting to be shown to their tables. You enter through a curtain and the see the dimly lit restaurant. Everyone looked really happy and to be enjoying their food. Food and service were really good. The only fault was a rather dry pasta main. They also own the attached Cafe E2 and they are joined by a corridor so you can go for a drink there whilst you wait for your table. We would definitely go back to Esca.
Didn't disappoint. Went here with a group of friends, had been meaning to try it out for a while so was pleased to get along. It certainly didn't disapoint and felt that it was everything it was suggesting. Good modern Italian/European menu and food was cook well with very good fresh ingrediants. A good indicator of this was that I had mussles and were of a very good quality and fresh, so flavour was good. Staff were all very good and attentive and knew the menu and specials well. Pretty reasonable pricing and a very good deal on the pre-theatre, especially if you book a table online through agent website. Only critisism is that it got quite hot at times and it wasn't especially warm outside.

Food is a bit expensive but the set menu is good value. Drinks are pricey. Service was quick and nice. Pleasant atmosphere. I had the chicken with peppercorn sauce, my partner had the lasagna, we were both pleased with the quality of food.
Little Italian Restaurant with loads of opportunities to buy Italian food after you had yiur lunch/dinner. The service was excellent my mouth was still watering when I went to the deli area oh my lord! I had to buy the spicy sausage, caramelised onion and of course the deserts. Its so hard to resist that gorgeous Nutella Canolli! We will be going back soon for dinner. Grazzie Mille arrivedercí 🙏🏽
Took my girlfriend for her birthday dinner - was a nice meal in pleasant surroundings and terrific value for 3 courses (Big thumbs up for the trio of desserts!)
Excellent, myself and my wife just had two fillet steak meals, both were cooked to perfection with a side of onion rings which were also terrific. Followed by two coffees, brilliant meal, will definitely be back. Staff were very friendly and always had a smile.

Well, this was a lovely little surprise for two weary walkers seeking, e.g., fish-n-chips or haggis bon-bons, and instead finding delicious Italian food and cocktails -- with a Dean Martin/Perry Como soundtrack. (That clocktower in the photo is a block or so away.)
Good place for lunch. We had poached eggs in Benedict style with an excellent hollandaise sauce. Nice interior. Good service. Will go again :-)
The esca Italian was brillant.😊😀👍 it was the 1st time I ever set foot in & ate & drank at the restaurant. I was in there earlier this afternoon with some of my family members & niece's best friends. We were celebrating my niece's 8th birthday with a big birthday cake filled with m&m sweeties on top. 🎂🎉 I had the spaghetti cabarona pasta with a glass of Pepsi & glass of cold tap water.🍴🍝❤ Brillant food & brillant restaurant. I would definitely come in here again 4 a family meal or other event in the future. 😊☺😀👍

We visited Esca for the first time in February 2019. Food was top notch Italian and authentic. Waitress was very helpful. The restaurant was cold when we visited but they put on the heating just before we left. We should have asked the staff to turn on heating earlier. We would definitely return.
Lovely food, lovely atmosphere. Tomato and basil soup was lovely and our chicken starter was fabulous. I'm writing this review before we've even had our mains because I have utter faith in this restaurant. Would recommend to anyone.
Popped in for lunch and very pleasantly surprised! Lovely atmosphere, comfortable with great service. Fantastic food, I had goats cheese salad with freshly baked ciabatta bread, amazing light and tasty. Also Pizza Americano which was authentic Italian, beautifully cooked, thin base and fresh. The sweets were gorgeous with a cafe latte. Highly recommended, definitely be back!
Very accommodating staff, was running late as taxi let me down. They fitted us in later no problem. Beautiful steak and great value from a groupon voucher. Would highly recommend .
Had a very pleasant early meal before a 7.00pm show at The Tron Theatre.
Service excellent. Hot goats cheese followed by fish of the day and finishing with Sticky Toffee Pudding. Recommend.
Booked before we went got 40% off the meal would highly recommend this place food service was amazing only down side even though the steak was amazing it could have been bigger.
But with the discount it still was value for money. Perhaps offer larger steak with at more money.

Seconds from the Tron Theatre, at the East end of Argyle Street, this cosy little restaurant offers some fantastic food and drink with a great atmosphere.
My fiancée and I have been a few times and have introduced friends to this great eatery. Esca works equally well for a romantic dinner for two or a group table for dinner and drinks.
The risotto is the best I've tried!
Prices are really reasonable and the food is excellent. Definitely worth visiting. Call ahead for table though - it's becoming really popular!
Update: After a bunch more visits, still a 5-star place! The staff really put in an effort here, making every visit something to look forward to. We had the fillet for the first time tonight and it might well have been the best I've ever had at a restaurant! Cooked to perfection, juicy and melt-in-your-mouth, with the tastiest peppercorn sauce, balsamic drizzled salad and little roast potatoes.
