Had an amazing experience yet again in one of the most marvellous restaurants in the city. 5 star hospitality and mouth watering food served all the time. Yash, the manager offered to let us try a couple more dishes we had not eaten before and they were really rich in taste. Not to forget he also made brilliant cocktails for us and made our visit very comfortable. I'd recommend this amazing restaurant to everyone who loves Thai cuisine. Would love to go back again soon

I love restaurants with beautiful ambience, it helps create a certain expectations in your mind. Chaophraya reception has an intriguing glass chandelier with several Buddha statues greeting you.
Since it was only three of us we ordered Thai curry, chicken cashew and beef sizzling with sticky rice & steamed noodles on the side.
All of the dishes did justice but my fav was the cashew nut curry with sticky rice.

Amazing place for authentic Thai fine dining.
I had the Pad Thai noodles with freshly squeezed orange juice and everything was cooked to perfection.

Excellent Excellent Thai food. A bit on the upscale side but we truly enjoyed every bit of our meal. Great service but kinda lost some points because we had to wait for quite a long time between our appetizers and Main course which left us hanging. Otherwise we really enjoyed our meal. Fantastic.

Visited with my friend for our get together dinner. We had an 80 pound voucher to spend as my friend had won it after leaving an online review from the last time we were here. If booking online they email you after your meal to ask to leave a review, it's worth it!

The staff are very attentive, and the food is brilliant. My friend and I had three courses each from the a la carte menu, several drinks and a coffee and our voucher just about covered it! The Weeping tiger as a main course is recommended!

This is a Thai restaurant, located in a beautiful refurbished old building in Glasgow which I believe was an academy of music at one time around a century ago.

Good location, right in the city centre. Think it would be handy for office workers and they do a lunch menu which is reasonably priced.

The food is really good, fragrant, sometimes spicy. The staff are always smiling though service could maybe be quicker.

I have been a few times and have seen staff singing happy birthday with sparklers and drums! It is done in a kind of Thai style which suits the restaurant which isn't cheesy but I realise this isn't everyone's thing.

If there was a clichéd checklist for restaurants, Chaophraya would tick most of them.  Great location,  classic building,  exotic menu, completely unpronounceable name….

Delicious food, presented tastefully with incredible ambience and a very central location. Tried a concil tail, which was fine too. Doesn't get better than this

I had King prawn salad and dumplings. Both of them catching my eye.
King prawn salad : grilled prawns. A little bit burned outside, so when I was peeling off the prawn shel there were sth black burned left in the salad. It's like a style overseas for every grilled things like chicken and steak. but I don't like this burn culture at all. The salad dressing is sweet includes fish sauce, and the fish sauce makes it taste a little bit salty in the end
Dumpling: crap prawn filling with sweet sauce I think it includes later sauce. Love it. Nothing to say anymore. Just love it
Forget to take photo
I recommend this restaurant

My family had an anniversary celebration at the start of April and this is where we tend to go when we want to go somewhere special! The food is always delicious, plentiful and, if you order from the lunch menu, really decently priced. The cocktails were also awesome in the Palm Sugar Lounge.

The building was fab. Lovely atmosphere and great service. Had the vegetarian feast which was pricy but I got to gorge on lots of yummy starters and main courses. My favourite starter was a salad which was packed full of flavour and texture. This was a bit of a surprise to me as I have always followed Homer Simpson's maxim "you don't win friends with salad". I had 2 favourite main courses, the green curry and a tofu one.

Being a half Thai person and lived in Thailand for few years sometime it's hard to find a good Thai restaurant to go to outside of Thailand. Although this is a bit pricey place for some but Chaophraya has some of my Thai favourite dishes spot on and had satisfy my craving for Thai food, as long as I shout out that "I'm Thai". One thing tho, they should start serving Thai dessert as well. As much as I love Crème Brûlée I just wouldn't like to have it after spicy Thai food. Craving for Sticky Rice and Mango...just saying... :)

The Townhouse building houses this amazing restaurant and I can assure you that the food definitely meets the grandeur of the building! The Townhouse is a red stone building that commands the corner of the street. Image from Google Street View. Chaophraya is set across 4 floors and contains the Palm Sugar cocktail bar as well as the restaurant. I was gobsmacked when I walked in. How grand is this foyer? I want this in my living room. The fact that it would totally block the view of the TV is of no concern; it’s so pretty! We were met by a lovely girl who escorted us to The Ballroom where we would be eating. We d

Overall, I really liked Chaophraya. It was about time Glasgow had a high-end Thai Restaurant like this. It is pricey but I do think the food is worth it. I would visit Chaophraya for it’s Cocktail Menu & Satay alone! If you have a Chaophraya in your area & you haven’t already tried it… I suggest you do!

I was part of a large group visiting Glasgow, and decided to go here for dinner based on location and appearance as we were walking along the street.

We had no prior knowledge or information about this restaurant.

Walking into an invitingly bright and airy restaurant, they were able to find a large table to accommodate us, and it was discreetly private.

We had the numbers and were able to order a good variety of dishes from their extensive menu. While everything was uniformly excellent in preparation and presentation, the following dishes stand out - Thai fish cakes, steamed dumplings, seafood medley, Aubergine and basil, bananas in coconut milk.

The service was polite, attentive and faultless. Our waiters were knowledgeable, and offered good recommendations.

It was an excellent and a very satisfying meal!

I am certain to visit again.

Chaopraya is probably the most glamourous restaurant in Glasgow. With its high ceilings, plush furnishings, and all the glitz. The ambience is far from the traditional minimal asian, but definitely reflects the oriental culture. The food is absolutely delicious - the dishes certainly look (and smell) fantastic. My personal favourites include the som tam salad and the chicken satay (peanut sauce: amazing.) All dishes are well balanced with the simultaneous punch of sweet, spicy, sour, on the palate.  The cocktail list is very interesting (some are better than the others.) Overall, this is the kind of place which would probably appeal to all, and is a great dining experience. Would highly recommend, especially for a special occasion or an intimate private dining experience.

At the higher end of the Glasgow dining circuit, Chaophraya is an exciting and authentic experience. I cannot fault the food and service when the occasion comes to spend a bit more than I usually do on restaurant food. I've had the Thai green curry both times.

Got vouchers for Christmas last year and finally went. Good selection of food and reasonable prices. We got the sharing platter as a starter and it was delicious. Got the specials for our mains a bit disappointed that you had to order rice or noodles separately

The food is very tasty and the menu has a really good selection. The seafood udon noodles were delicious, but with 19£ quite pricy. That being said, the food is very expensive generally and the portion sizes aren’t big, but you do get a fine dining experience. The service is excellent and the building/atmosphere speaks for itself, so it’s definitely a special occasion kind of restaurant.

Service was perfect and food was delicious! It was my husband's 30th and they gave him a cheesecake with happy birthday on it. Lovely personal touch. We will return and recommend to everyone! Thank you! Watermelon cooler is also a cocktail I would recommend.

From the friendly staff to the delicious food I can not recommend Chaophraya enough. We had the sharing platter to start I had the chicken with chilli basil and 5 spice fries. My partner had crispy chicken cashew with jasmine rice. 10/10 all round and will definitely be back.

The food here is phenomenal. The sharing platter is a must try as was the chocolate bombe. So much to taste and all the flavours were beautifully complimentary. Even the prawn crackers were supreme. Everything was well seasoned, fresh and delicious. The gin cocktails were extremely good and complimented the food. I'd say everything we had was slightly spicy, but also zesty and sweet. I was extremely pleased with the presentation, cleanliness and service. It wasn't the cheapest meal I've ever had, but it was also worth the money. The portions were the perfect size for three courses. The atmosphere was upscale casual, and the building is stunning. Shout out to our server Ruby, she gave excellent recommendations and was an professional brand ambassador. We will eat here again.

Nice place with good food. Service wasn't great and even then they put an optional service charge in the bill that can be easily overlooked while checking it.

My daughters birthday meal here. Service was very slow. Food came before any drinks came. Had to ask for water for table a few times. I had the beef rib which was almost impossible to take off the bone to eat. A bit disappointing

Very classy surroundings so the perfect place if you have a special occasion coming up. The menu is huge so plenty of options, and every dish we tried was great. Also to say, the cocktails were amazing. I'd come back just to go to the bar! Dessert was actually a bit of a let down for the price (12 quid each), everything is just drowned in chocolate or caramel sauce without really tasting of much else tbh.... So I'd recommend skip dessert and get another one of the excellent cocktails instead!

Best Thai food I've had in Glasgow. The price is not cheap, but the location and the quality of the food are good. The service is amazing, the waiter came to ask how each dish tastes. They have a 12.5% service charge and the waiter would tell you it's optional. The only suggestion is that the waiters must be careful when wiping the table and spraying detergent. Today they were clearing the next table but we got splashed.

Returning for open house during Chinese new year, glad to say the heating is still on unlike some restaurants😉. Inside was as charming as ever, however I would recommend putting the wifi somewhere on the menu as there are quite a few options called chaophraya. Unfortunately certain items such as the stata starter were missing however I understand based on the season. To start tempura was well cooked and both sauces delightful. Ribs were garnish a touch above what I enjoy but the chilli complemented well with the hint of sweet. Tom yum was as good as always, still the best starter for Thai lovers. Main was Kao Soi Goai with coconut rice(that was well done, the correct amount of coconut can be hard to get but they did well), while the noodles were nice i expected a few more along with more veg bit the curry was perfect. Sea bass was the best we although a touch too wet in terms of sauce And i prefer more herbs for a cooler taste. Service was good, and particularly understanding during my "ummm ahhh" moments ordering. Helpful when recommending drinks and not always pushing the most expensive option, a trait all to rare in Scottish service. Always a good day when staff can recognize a look of "can we get more food" from across the restaurant. Would recommend for Thai food in Glasgow or something to take friends to before an evening out.

Was my first Thai experience. Was very delicious. Went with a middle of the road spice. Very good chicken rice. Definitely get the fried egg on top. Had the chocolate bombe for dessert. That is a must. The only down side was waiting a while to get the check after the meal.
