Ate at nippon and largely enjoyed. Meal was served promptly and warm. Partner had chicken cha Han and enjoyed, we shared chicken gyoza, I had chicken curry udon noodles. The chicken was breaded and this was my only complaint, the chicken seemed to be more of a pre prepared chicken steak from a pack rather than fresh on premises. It did taste fine but thought this was a bit processed compared to the other fresh food that looks good. Bento Boxes look great. Main each, starter to share, one beer and one wine was 37. Wine on the expensive side by the glass, bottles ok.
An excellent place for oriental food. We did not have a booking but we were accommodated quickly. The food was served fast and tasted really good. Glad we walked by and decided to come in.
Love trips to this place. They nail the basics making them feel more like a treat. The salmon sashimi was pretty much perfect. Ochazuke was lovely too.
Tried their Unadon..
Delish.. with generous portion of unagi..
The ocha also good..
The staff are very friendly..
Lil bit expensive though..
Good food, decent presentation, variety to choose from and friendly staff... Enjoyed what we ate and I am sure if i try more stuff, It will be equally good. Me n my hubby were super happy to see that they had good whiskey collection in their drinks menu. Looking forward to visit again.
In town for the football and was recommend this place and the sushi and prawn tempura was the bomb.. Great spot and service was excellent...
Best sushi in Glasgow. I dine here often with my boyfriend and we always leave happy. We mostly always have a sushi platter to share and cannot visit without having the prawn tempura - it is as good or better than tempura we have tried in Japan! I have tried a few of the cocktails and they have always been great.
The only complaint we have ever had was that my boyfriend thought one of the whiskies (I can't remember the name) wasn't good...but he can be fussy with whisky!
Highlights column says no takeaway but we have ordered takeaway from here a few times!
Went here for lunch and it was nice to see some tables were already in. Firstly l would like to say its an odd choice of location as its right next to wagamamas which is does similar main noodle and soup based dishes.
The sushi opitions are really good and they are made there and then unlike some places as it doesnt taste the same.
My girlfriend got the bento box with the chicken teriyaki and l got a spicy pork noodles soup based which both were very good.
The staff were prompt to come over and help with anything and were always polite when answering any questions. As for value wise, its worth it if you are looking for a japanese influenced dish.
We went for the full 38 piece sushi platter (perhaps we were the first to do so?) We also noticed they stocked a few Japanese beers which we hadn’t tried so we asked for 2 different Asahi beers only to find out that they were both out of stock, so we each settled for refillable green tea instead, which we both finished before the food had arrived so we asked for a refill but we were brought the bill instead before we’d even eaten anything!!!
We looked over at the kitchen counter and could see a big platter for sushi sitting there…was it ours?

Had a really lovely meal here for my daughter's birthday. The food was delicious and the 4 of us left completely satisfied. The service was very friendly, attentive and warm and we are looking forward to our next visit!
*edit* my daughter returned the following night with her friend, and once again received 5 Star service and amazing food! Her particular favourite was the tapoyaki starter. Delicious!
The food was really good with a varied menu. The prawn tempura was delicious. Sushi was nice but not the best you’ll find in Glasgow. The staff were really friendly as well.
Came in because we saw that they had a separate vegan menu. We were not disappointed. Chilli vegan stirfry was fantastic and the avocado rolls were nice too. Serving staff were efficient and friendly. House sake was good too. Japanese green tea had free refills which was nice on a cold wet afternoon.
I got lots of allergies, the staff was very kind and happy to help me decide between their available options. Also, they were able to slightly accommodate a dish i wanted to try. I loved the tuna!
The food was so good I actually couldn't stop smiling the entire time I couldn't express the amazing staff's kindness as well. 100% will come here again. 😋😋😋
We visited yesterday (16.05.23) on a whim whilst exploring Glasgow centre. SO glad we did. Honestly this is some of the best Japanese food we have ever had. Staff cannot do enough for you and are very attentive as well as warm and friendly. If you're in the area and you like this kind of food, ignore the Yo Sushi and ignore the wagamamas and come here instead! You'll have a much nicer experience and you're supporting a small business rather than a chain.
We were craving sushi and were so excited to find this spot. We started with the miso soup which was good. Then the pork ribs which were absolutely amazing, I could have eaten more !! The sushi was also great too. Our waitress chatted to us a bunch so it was a very welcoming environment. Highly recommend!!
Thank you Nippon Kitchen, great Japanese restaurant very close to Queen Street train station. I was there for dinner with my wife, we booked our table in advance for a Saturday night. Despite arriving 15 minutes early we were seated almost straight away no problem. I loved the decor and the food was excellent. Service was also very good but I was not convinced about the music. Look forward to another visit in the future.
Lush food and lovely service. The area is perfect in city center if you come through the Glasgow queen's street.
The food was lovely and well priced for how much to get. My friend and I shared the starters and had our own mains and we were stuff at the end. Service was lovely, slightly slow but it was really full so completely understandable and also the dishes we ordered were presented beautifully.
The service was really great. Food came in quick, and staff was amazing. Serving size was quite big. Although the place was quite dark.
First time dining here and I was pleasantly surprised!
Food: absolutely delicious. We ordered the chicken miso ramen, tenuki uramaki, and salmon nigiri. Loved everything!
Service: kind workers. The only issue was grabbing the servers’ attention when we wanted to pay.
Atmosphere: interior design and decorations were nice and added to the atmosphere. The tables were slightly sticky and I’m not sure if the mats on the table get cleaned between guests (or under the mats).
Thank you!!
Great experience! Awesome sushi options and my wife liked the chicken bento box.
We were desperate for a Japanese when we got here and this hit the spot!
I had the udon noodles with chicken and it looked like this. The noodles were thick and juicy, the chicken was lovely and crispy - you can never go wrong with Katsu either. There was some chilli added but was not excessively spicy. Just a delicious dish, generous serving also.
Note they also have a gluten free beer.
Been coming here since the restaurant opened, over 10 years! Love visiting, service is really good and food is great. Would recommend a bento to try a little of everything. The sushi is great and love their tempura. Usually for a lovely Japanese style cocktail too. 😍
Our favourite Japanese restaurant in Glasgow. Always go for Bento Box D, Edamame beans and Chilli chicken Noodles. Recommended!
My first visit was with my father and my sister, brilliant food amazing service had duck with rice and those mini seaweed sushi rolls with salmon and mayonnaise and green tea ice-cream. Food was delicious and fresh & they were kind and accommodating to my gluten free needs. Today got for takeaway the mini ones with salmon mayo again and something I hadn't tried before the Moriawase. Again delicious and fresh I would definitely recommend.
Good size portions and really tasty food. I had the Curry Udon and it was flavorful and filling. All of the staff seemed really nice and the service was speedy
Visited with friends recently and had a lovely meal and drinks, great service.
They had a separate gluten free menu, which had many dishes on it, also they brought out gluten free soy sauce for me. They seemed to really understand allergens.
This is the best food we have experienced in Glasgow. So fresh and flavorful. The choices are great, plus lots of drink options. I recommend the Lychee sake martini. The restaurant and toilets are clean although located upstairs. My only gripe is the already added 10% gratuity, the experience was worth a tip but I prefer to decide how much.
