We got married at Sherbrooke this month and it was the most fantastic experience! The castle is beautiful and the food is incredible, the staff are also amazing, anticipating our every need. The planning stages were an absolute dream thanks to Claire and William (and their work on the day was also seamless). Special thanks to Gregor and Jan as well who are both amazing! Our piper was also amazing and lovely. Thank you all so much!! I would recommend Sherbrooke to anyone!!
Absolutely stunning and beautiful place. The room was very spacious, very comfortable bed and there were so many lamps in the room which made it feel cozy and relaxing. The huge bathroom had a big bathtub too and lots of windows, i think it was part of the turret. There was also a cute seating area in the turret section with armchairs and a coffee section fully equipped. The lady at reception was very friendly too. Highly recommended this place and its very reasonable too
We had a very excellent stay here. The room was amazing, we had a lovely suite in the castle with a sitting area in a turret. The staff were friendly and attentive. Both the dinner and the breakfast were very good, well prepared, and well served. I would 100% stay here again.
I was a little disappointed that we didn't stay "in the castle" and instead were under what was some type of structure next to the castle. The room was fine but in August rather hot. It would be great if the hotel would add small room fans as a few others had done on those stay in Scotland. Really helps on a hot night.
The highlight was seeing a real Scottish wedding and the hotels restaurant/bar. I had the Scottish beef and it was superb. The bar is open 24 hours for guests which is great if you return from Glasgow after a late night.
Location was probably less than ideal if you are looking to enjoy Glasgow. There is a train station near by that supposedly runs every thirty minutes, but when we were there for some reason was only running on the hour. An Uber to Glasgow cost about 18 pounds with a tip. With a similar price for the return, I would recommend the train if you can figure out the times.
But a nice place overall.
I was here for a wedding reception and I enjoyed it very much. There isn't much parking facilities at the hotel but I was able to park on the street close by. We had a lovely meal and the staff coped very well with about one hundred guests. The hotel is easy driving distance from the centre of Glasgow less than fifteen minutes travelling. I was not staying at the hotel and cannot comment on the rooms etc.
Absolutely best hotel experience here when my husband and I going on a round trip in UK starting from Edinburgh. We were very very impressed by the friendly staff, the services and the interior decorations in this castle hotel. Our room was superb, spacious with fantastic views. We had our dinner in this hotel, lots of choices for food and best value for money. Highly recommended for those to stay here while traveling through Glasgow!
Honestly I was a little disappointed, the online photo looks as if the castle is on a larger estate large front yard well the photo is not accurate the castle is in the middle of a subdivision homes all around. It is very beautiful, stunning staircase and ceilings. Our dinner was fabulous.
The room itself was lovely however there was no way to control the temperature , we opened the window however the wind was on the other side of the house so the room was very warm. The bed mattress was horrible sunk in in the middle from left to right so our heads and feet are up and butts sunk down. So a “little” uncomfortable
The staff out bad need to remember guests are staying and sleeping above where they hang out and deliveries are being done. We heard conversation staff leaving (late) etc
Our stay at this quaint little castle like estate completely exceeded our expectations. First off, the staff is absolutely great! Everyone we encountered were helpful and professional. Special shout out to Scott who was manning the bar in the evening.
We extended our stay by a day due to the great atmosphere and close proximity to the trains which are less than a 5 min walk away. A short ride and one stop and you are at Glasgow central. From there you can tour the sights, shop, hit restaurants and bars, whatever.
We stayed in the tower room at the castle. A very large and unique suite. Room number 11. I am sure there are other nice rooms on the property, but all will probably have their own qualities. Some of the other junior suites look more polished. That being said, we wouldn’t have wanted to stay anywhere else or move.
The suite is not suited for physically challenged patrons or people that are not strong enough to carry heavy suitcases or bags up narrow stairs. Although I am quite sure that the helpful staff would assist with any baggage requirements. They did offer to help us.
The breakfast was great and was included in the stay. One thing that we did appreciate is that breakfast is served till 10 unlike many places which include breakfast, but can end earlier. This way we could sleep in and enjoy the suite without missing breakfast.
The tower room may not be for everyone,
But if you want a very unique and roomy layout and want to feel a bit like prince or princess, this is for you. You enter into a roomy sitting area with TV, small bar fridge, and coffee/tea centre. From there, you can walk town a hallway to a very spacious bathroom, located in the tower itself. Brightly lit with 3 windows on each side of the tower. Separate shower and bath.
Walk the opposite way from the tv area and you enter a separate master bedroom area which can be closed off by a door if needed. There is also a TV in the bedroom and it is quite spacious with a desk and sitting area. You are situated in the attic part of the castle that extends across the front of the building. Incredible views can be seen from the small main window. Should it rain, the rain is loud. I like the sound of rain. But if it bothers you don’t pick this room (if you get a choice) or wear ear plugs.
The property itself , bar and restaurant area are very nice and situated at the front of the hotel with great views. I observed a number of families playing cards and having a good time which was refreshing to see. Whether you’re a couple looking for a romantic getaway or a family, the property provides. I could only imagine how nice a small to medium wedding might be here. However, parking might be a challenge for that type of venue. There seem to be ample parking for the guests when we were there. In addition, there are car chargers on site however, they are not particularly fast, so hook up when you arrive. Added are numerous pictures of the accommodation and surrounding.
An anniversary afternoon tea. Service good, sandwiches etc excellent. Company - brilliant + there was a wedding going on as well ++ two families arranging their wedding reception for next year. Only drawback was parking, could have been better organised, otherwise , a delightful afternoon.
Absolutely amazing experience, staff were great, breakfast was excellent, beautiful castle and rooms, couldn't fault it. I'll definitely be staying at the Sherbrooke Castle whenever I'm in Glasgow! Thanks so much to the team!
