To me an Indian with a difference. The dishes we tried were great, service also very good. I like to try indian food with no sauce, and this place ticked all the boxes for a return visit when I am in Glasgow again. The spices used flavoured the dishes, and not over powered in anyway. I can understand why this gets busy, after eating the food. I would suggest you book in advance, even at our lunch time it was really busy. Its hard to find places that don't use sauces in their meals, this is a great venue.

Haven’t dined here in over ten years. Food and service impeccable. Ordered the tandoori roasted poussin and cardamom laced tomato tandoori chicken and it was very tasty. The side dishes of daal and chickpea complimented the main dishes very well. Accompanied by the tandoori roti was a meal fit for the maharaja!

Amazing Indian food though a little bit on the expensive side.
For starters we had the Sheetal Kachori which is like a version of the Dahi Puri however this is a fresher, tastier and tangier combo drizzled in yogurt with a crunchy base.
For mains it was the Subzi Seekh, Malai Kofta, Vegetable and Chicken biryanis, Lehsuni Naan and Paneer Kulcha. All of which could individually rival any 5 star restaurant and give them a run for their money.
The fresh lehsuni naan paired with the malai kofta felt like a meal made for the royals.
The ambience is nice and the atmosphere is kept personal at best thanks to their lighting which I appreciate.

Best Indian restaurant in Glasgow

They've just launched their new menu which is pretty astounding, a whole section devoted to North Indian street food.

The North Indian cuisine from The Dhabba is outstanding.
There is a prawn starter dish I must have every time I visit it is delicious. The leg of lamb is a sight...and tastes amazing too, this is for those with a big appetite!
Go authentic and have a pint of kingfisher!

A great north Indian restaurant. The pre-theatre offer (half price on main courses) is good value. Join the loyalty programme for an extra 10% off.

Like Curry? Then You'll Love This Restaurant.. It's no secret that Glasgow enjoys its Indian food. But one secret most folk are keeping to themselves are the locations of the best restaurants out there. It's understandable that you want to keep them yours. If more people head to them, maybe the prices will rise, quality will dip, service suffer etc etc.

Not a problem with the Dhabba, or its sister venue the Dhakin. Both are among the best Indian restaurants I have ever eaten at and are locate slap bang in the City Centre.

The prices are slightly more than you get at the other Indians around the area, but well worth it. You'd be hard pressed to find a meal for 4 going even £5 over what you'd get at the next one down, and the Dhabba will beat them hands down for quality.
Authentic North Indian food (if you've never tried it) is delicious, and the starting point of most of the curries we Glaswegians love - tikkas, bhoonas, masalas. You will not be disappointed by the menu range, and if on the off chance you'd like something creamier, spicier, milder or whatever; they're happy to tailor it to your tastes. If you're very nice to the waiters, they'll take a list of your preferences and have the chef whip something up.

Service is great with all the staff being attentive while not overbearing. You won't feel rushed, and you'll leave with a full belly, a happy smile, and your wallet won't have taken a pounding.

Good Food, Good Service. I don't think I agree with the price this place is listed at. It can definitely be cheaper.

This was my first experience with Northern Indian cuisine, so I don't have anything to compare against. I liked my dish well enough, it's just hard for me to know whether it was great or just average as far as this region of food goes.

The service however, was very good. I would definitely go back, just so I could try something different.

All in, we had a great lunch here and it was fantastic value for money. I’ll definitely come back to try out the evening menu, or their sister restaurant which specialises in southern Indian dishes.

Dhabba is a long-time favourite of mine and it never lets me down. I remember when it opened round the corner from my apartment when I lived in the Merchant City and you could immediately tell it was already breaking the mould for Indian Restaurants in Glasgow.
Everyone knows that Scotland's largest city has always been in love with food from the subcontinent, so you have to do something special to grab attention, and Dhabba certainly achieved that.
There is a superior lightness to the cuisine that I've only ever experienced in there, and at their sister restaurant around the corner, Dhakan.
You won't find any flabby, dripping garlic nans in here - it's rotis instead. And the meat and fish dishes are all filling, without being overwhelming.
Put it this way, you can nip in for a three-course lunch at Dhabba (a bargain at £9.95) and go and run a half marathon in the afternoon.
Okay, I'm obviously exaggerating but you won't waddle out of here feeling bloated and desperate for a lie down.
The portions are just right and there is a wide and varied selection of exceptional dishes, many of which I'd never tried before this place opened one glorious day.
Special mention for the monkfish dish, which you have to enjoy at least once in your life.
Combined with great service, incredible variety and a superb location, Dhabba is the best Indian Restaurant in the Merchant City. And there's some pretty strong competition.

A wonderful find in the heart of Glasgow! We had yellow daal, sabzi takatak and plain rice and I was pleasantly surprised by the authenticity of all the dishes. After a number of days of having mostly English food, this was a welcome change 😃 the staff were polite and attentive.

The Dhabba is a highly-rated Indian restaurant in Glasgow, Scotland. It has been open since 2002 and has a loyal following of customers. The restaurant is known for its authentic North Indian cuisine, which is made with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. The Dhabba's menu features a wide variety of dishes, including tandoori meats, curries, biryanis, and vegetarian options. The dishes are all cooked using traditional Indian methods, and the flavors are bold and complex. The restaurant also has a good selection of Indian beers and wines. The Dhabba's interior is decorated in a traditional Indian style, with plenty of leafy plants and warm lighting. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the staff are friendly and attentive. The Dhabba is a great place to go for a special occasion or a casual meal with friends. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is good. The food was exceptional and the staff was tremendous. One of our party has an onion allergy (the worst allergy to have at an Indian restaurant) and the staff was extremely accommodating and walked us through all the options and even gave us a complementary appetiser. Cannot recommend this spot highly enough!

Interesting menu food was as per the expectation serving an Indian and above all a North Indian is not easy. Tandoorii fish was wonderful, chicken tikkas were done well. We had daal mahkani and chicken Dhabha as mains. Would prefer if they add chicken tandoori in Dhabha curry as the chicken was bland and a bit chewy. But many like it that way and in Scotland there spice tolerance is much less. I ordered Roku and my husband got a MacAllan they should charge more but give 50ml at least. But overall good experience.

My friends and I were in Glasgow during the busy Easter weekend and struggling to find a restaurant that was still open. Luckily, The Dhabba accommodated us even though they were closing. We were impressed with the friendly and welcoming staff, who didn't rush us out or sacrifice the quality of their food despite the late hour. We ordered daal makhni, paneer, and garlic naan and were blown away by the amazing taste of the daal makhni. We enjoyed the food and staff so much that we decided to return for lunch and were once again impressed by the quality of the food and friendly service. We ordered their veg and non-veg thalis, which had apt portions, quality, and cost. I highly recommend this beautiful restaurant with its humble, polite, and energetic staff.

Loved the ambience, the location is quite central to glasgow ( nearabout Trongate) the layout and seating arrangement is quite spacious and has most of the basic amenities like wheelchair access and baby changing facilities. Special mention goes to the fact that we were a group of 10 and was successfully accomodated in one long table even after catering for decent number of customers as one would expect for a friday night in city centre glasgow. The crowd quality was quite decent and liked the hygiene measures , toilets were clean but a bit stuffy size wise and dark colour theme made it appear smaller and claustrophobic. The food we had was amazing, specially the tandoori platter- chicken and fish were sumotious, didnot like the lamb chop tandoori much as it was quite rubbery and tough. For the main course we went for laal maas ( lamb meat in spicy curry) , personal favourite was the rogan josh - absolute closest to indian level spice, the fish ajwain was okayish but wont be ordering in future- good for one time taste. The butter naan tasted well. Murgh Musqawala was also medium spicy and didnt catch much attention as compared to rogan josh in terms of spice levels. Outstanding was the ghost biriyani- had ordered jeera rice as well but would order only biriyani henceforth - it was thaaaatttt good! The raita was unique and tasted well. Overall, would definitely recommend and totally value for money!

This Indian restaurant in Glasgow opens at 5 pm for dinner. It serves authentic Indian food with the right spices added. The meat was well cooked and it came with different textures. It is reasonably priced. The ambiance was good. We really enjoyed ourselves. You have to try this restaurant if you like Indian food. 🤗
