It was really busy when we went! Obviously a popular restaurant! The sushi was really good and the noodle dishes were tasty - if it’s described as chilli or hot it’s not kidding! But can’t fault the food.
The service was pretty average and we actually found the restaurant pretty cold so we all kept our jackets on, but other than this it was a nice meal out! We didn’t try the tables with the hotpot and grill because I couldn’t find any information online about prices or what’s included which was kind of annoying, maybe I’ll it in the future.
Nanakusa is an nice restaurant in city centre, Glasgow is an fantastic restaurant the food is delicious their tried some of their tasty food and they were very delicious ambience if this place is good
Love this place...
The atmosphere is really nice..
The food are great..
Ordered unagi kabayaki.. The sauce is just perfect..
Salmon sashimi is so freshh
Dayum!. I cannot stress how good this place is. The food there is amazing. Me and my girlfriend had Ebi gyoza, takoyaki, chicken katsu curry, fried squid, duck curry, grilled red bean mochi. Every single thing was delicious. I prefer it to Ichiban already. The staff are really friendly there too, you can tell that they love their jobs.
The only bad thing was that we were planning on leaving a fiver tip but when we got the bill they had already given us for a service charge, bit cheeky if you ask me.
Yummy!. My boyfriend and I absolutely love Nanakusa. The food is always delicious, and the service is great. I'm a huge fan of the 'chicken noodle soup' and my boyfriend loves the sushi. We live much closer to Ichiban and Wagamama, but we prefer to walk that little extra distance to Nanakusa.
Enjoyed sushi and mixed veg tempura for starter. The mains are quite large and filling. Staff were really friendly.
Can't fathom why you'd go back to Ichiban or Wagamama after eating here! Great food and proper plum wine. Ace!
Best Japanese in Glasgow. I absolutely love this restaurant, one of my faves in Glasgow. The food is delicious, in my opinion, totally beats Ichiban and Wagamama in terms of flavour and quality. The service is fantastic too, always smiley and attentive. We've even been given free dessert on several occasions! (the green tea ice-cream is AMAZING).
As close to genuine Japanese food as you're gonna get outside of Japan. Nom nom nom.
Excellent food and very friendly staff. The place was very nice but the ambient changing lights were very frustrating
Great!. I think this place is great, we have been back twice and the food has been fantastic both times. I would highly recommend it as a great Japanese restaurant in Glasgow. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and the staff are friendly.
Great service but the food is overpriced and nothing special. Don't offer a discount for carry out v
One of my favourite places to eat. The staff is very friendly and strike a perfect balance between being attentive and leaving you in peace. The food is consistently good, fresh and delicious. The place looks small and unprepossessing from the street but is very elegant inside.
The other day my boyfriend and I went out to have a quick dinner in Glasgow and we googled sushi restaurants in the centre and Nanakusa came up.
The decor was very nice and I loved the way we were seated. Even though I felt a little bit in the way, as we were seated in the middle, it was fine.
The choice of sushi was interesting - and it was beautifully served. One weird thing though was that when we asked if we could order again later if we were still hungry, the waiter said 'of course, but you won't need to, this seems like enough sushi' ...it just really surprised us both.
However, we were definitely underwhelmed by the sushi. It felt a bit messy, they were cut unequally and there were bits falling, some sushi just plainly had too much rice, etc. Sushi-making is an art and they weren't masters. The redeeming thing was that despite it being messy it definitely tasted good AND they had a sweet potato sushi which just blew my mind. It was the first time I saw that and it will definitely stay in my memory. Delicious.
In the end, if the sushi had been better we would have ordered again but we decided to leave it at that.
Easily the best Japanese food in the city center, and value for money.
They provide gigantic portions which I struggled to finish, and the food tastes excellent 👌
Reminded me a lot when I was back in Japan. Atmosphere was nice and quiet, they deserve more customers but they're far out.
Highly recommend you trek out to visit this place!
Great bento box option here!
The special bento box is such a great surprise, it came in such a huge portion with nigiri, maki, ebi tempura and chicken teriyaki!
The chicken teriyaki is soo good, genuinely surprised by that, it’s slightly crispy and I loved it!
The sushi were great and gyu don is my friend’s favourite, so if you like beef and onions go give it a try!
Plenty of seating inside and a variety of things from the menu you can choose from. Great price for the portions. Great service from Kenny. Would recommend this place to Japanese food lovers!
Very nice place. Welcoming and polite. Clean and tidy. The food is good the prices are sane. Great place to visit in Glasgow if you are hungry for Japanese cuisine and don't have a billionaire's budget. No need in pre booking.
We had a lovely time here. Lovely food, very tasty.
Service was great, however our re order of wine seemed to be forgotten but arrived after pointing it out (happens). Chicken Katsu was superb.
Lovely food, friendly service and very reasonable prices, highly recommended. Nice relaxed and calm atmosphere when dining at around 6ish. Various types of sake on offer, the yuzu sake is particularly nice.
Lovely Japanese Noodle Soup on a very lively street in Glasgow. Super nice place to take a breath and sit down to have some food. Of course it is not authentic Japanese food but it is nonetheless close to it and still very delicious.
If you happen to be on that street, feel free to stop by if you crave for some japanese food.
Doesn't look much from the outside but never judge a book by its cover so the adage says. The food, service and overall vibe of the place is absolutely excellent. Had a lovely meal with my daughter before heading to the Kings Theatre for a show.
Came here for dinner, the inside of the restaurant is a little bit dark but it has a very chill atmosphere which is nice. I really enjoyed their chicken katsudon and pumpkin korokke and the portions were pretty good! Their menu had a great selection as well. Food was served quickly and the staff were also really friendly and attentive.
One of my fave restaurants. Perfect before a trip to GFT because food arrives quickly, and it's always delicious. Staff are really nice, too.
Good Japanese food on Sauchiehall Street. I particularly enjoyed the sushi platter and the spicy noodle soup. The service was also good too and the price was fair, so I will definitely return. Our group thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Thanks!
Amazing food. The Takoyaki is so yum! Honestly a faultless and fantastic meal. We've been about a dozen times over the years and can't fault the food, the service or the staff. It's all top notch!
Our first visit to this restaurant and certainly not our last. Excellent Japanese food with very pleasant friendly service.
There were a fair number of Japanese folks in which is also a good recommendation.
Nice ambiance, lovely hosts ! Amazing starters, pretty good desserts! Overall great experience !
Great food tucked away in a really unique old building!
Amazing food, full of flavour! Polite and efficient staff. Personally, I think there could have been more lighting, that is my only fault with the place.
