First time here. Lots of choices and much more interesting than the usual tex-mex offerings. We shared starters including really tasty pork belly skewers with a pineapple salsa (Anticuchos) and a cheese fondue with crispy potato cubes. The salad (Fiesta Ensalada) was a great mix of vegetables, pickles and seeds. My main "Blazin Bird" chicken was really well cooked (think Nandos but better) and the sweet potato fries were superb. My flaming hot habanero sauce wasn't spicy enough for me but I eat vindaloo and love really spicy food. When I mentioned this they brought me a huge pot of extra spicy sauce that was spot on. That was all part of the great service. Lovely drinks too with particularly good margaritas! At £119 for three courses for 4 people with drinks it was pretty good value for money. They do really well being relaxed enough for a casual meal whilst being good enough for a special night out.
Loved our meal at Iguanas! After wondering the streets my partner and I stumbled across Iguanas and decided to have dinner there, so glad we did because everything was delicious and Pina Coladas were £4.50! We shared the nachos, gambas, calamares and the Bahian coconut chicken. All were delicious and would recommend.
Great food and lively ambience. They serve Mexican, Spanish, Brazilian cuisine. It's located in the heart of the city. Must try when visiting Glasgow
Near City center, this is one place where I got introduced to enchiladas. I tried the same at some other places too but I liked the ones here better. Like many other restaurants, they also do lunch menus which offers you a starter and a main in a good deal. The ambience is nice, service is awesome... It might be a better idea to reserve a table in advance but except for a few times when all tables were taken, I could find a table even when I walked in.
A chain place where the staff act as though they are your long lost best mate might not sound appealing but the food was great. Think of this place like a Latin Zizzi's. Huge, busy and an open style kitchen. Service was good, very attentive. The only off putting part was the overly familiar kids tv presenter style of the greeting staff but no big deal. There was a good atmosphere and everyone seemed to be tucking in happily. Our food was really good. Everything that came out was perfect and delicious. Look forward to another visit.
I’ve been to a few launch parties now but none with latin dancers and such a party atmosphere as Las Iguanas on West Nile Street. It was loud, lively and opened the place with a bang.
There was plenty fizz, rum cocktail, sangria, caipirinhas, wine and beer going around and the place was packed. I tried a bit of everything in the name of research and all of the drinks get the thumbs up from me. They are very proud of their caipirinhas because they make them with their own branded cachaca.
They were generous with the food too. It started with the tortilla chips, salsa and guacamole that was on the tables then the staff started handing out a selection of food from their menu. I liked almost all of the food that I tried. There were shot glasses with various sauces like black bean & bacon (not for me) and coconut curry sauce (delicious). Empanadas, quesadillas, meat skewers, leaves cupping various meats in sauces and more.
My favourite was the garlic mushroom quesadilla – there’s no boring veggie options here. In fact, I came with a vegetarian and when the PR lady found out she returned with a veggie platter especially for her. Nice touch.
After feeding us, the team at Las Iguanas then treated us to some funky dancing from the professionals before getting the rest of us on the dance floor for a try.
The whole place and atmosphere screamed fun and, although the place won’t be that lively every day, it could be an ideal place for hens and other groups.
I’d like to extend my thanks to Loop PR & the staff at Las Iguanas for inviting me.
We went on a Tuesday night, so it wasn't busy, but they do have a ton of seating. The atmosphere was amazing, and so did the interior. The wait on drinks and food wasn't too long. Food wise, I think it's a little overpriced for the quality and amount, but it's still good. The cocktails, though, are delicious. I definitely recommend the mango collins. The staff was also very polite
Lovely place and the best food! I was looking for another restaurant when I stumbled across Las Iguanas and how happy I am that I did. Glutenfree, vegan, they have anything for anyone.
I had the Jackfruit Burrito bowl and it was definitely delicious!
We loved the food and had a good time for Father’s Day here. I’d recommend going to this place. The staff is really kind and helped us in deciding our order.
We enjoyed our dinner here last night, I absolutely loved my Chipotle chicken burrito bowl, it was very fresh a filling. My partner got the enchilada which she liked but thought there would be more to it for the price it was and I agree, even if it was a side salad or something. The sides were great we had garlic bread, curly fries and onion rings they onion rings are the best I have had in a long time!! We finished it off by sharing a dulche de leche cheesecake. Waitress couldn't have been any more attentive.
I love coming here for food! The staff are friendly and the food is delicious. The only downside is because of how popular/busy the restaurant is, it can sometimes take a little longer for food to arrive which is to be expected when the place is jam packed on a Saturday evening!
We had a great meal, reasonably priced, and didn't feel rushed at all. The server Katelyn was amazing and had great knowledge of the menu, highly commended for going the extra mile. A very enjoyable time was had by all, and we will definitely be back to try out the 'Boozy Brunch', which was very reasonably priced @ £32 (either that or £35, I can't quite remember). Considering there are 5 cocktails included in the price, that's a bargain 👌
Brilliant service
Food was lovely, our male server was a lovely gentleman a credit to your company. I work in hospitality for last 20 years and know how to run a business myself and would employ him in a heartbeat.
Overall great service and amazing food, my son would like to express his thanks too for the best burger he had this year:)))
Great meal and staff. Not only was it surprisingly good Mexican food, but it was inventive as well. The oat milk drink with popcorn, which was basically horchata, was a perfect mix of sweet and cinnamon-y goodness and fun to drink. The jackfruit was pretty subtle in the burrito bowl. Mixed with all the ingredients, it really could've been anything so it was a nice meat placebo. One of our servers was also kind enough to give us a few touristy recs to check out for our last day in town, so the place was tops in every category.
Went there for a lunch date, they have a good lunch menu, service was quick and friendly but since it was overcast the restuarant was a bit dark which upset the atmosphere. Very good overall though, will be back.
First time going & I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Took advantage of their lunchtime offer, food was amazing, staff were lovely & attentive. Well worth dropping in, especially during lunchtimes if you'd want to take advantage while it's a bit more on the quiet side.
First time I have been for food, even though I was very fussy, Greg was great and got me what I asked for and the food was lovely. Great selection of cocktails that went down a treat. Did I mention that Greg was awesome, clearly a hard worker and had great interaction with all the customers he spoke too.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, pork sandwich was the best one I ever had, the starters and main courses were amazing, well done to chef, highly recommend and definitely will be back.
Stopped in for lunch and decided on Tapas 5 items, friendly staff (Tommy helped us with a different item as our initial choice was available). The food was fresh tasting and just the right amount for 2. Was card payments only, so may not suit everyone. Toilets are located upstairs but accessible toilet are available. Will be back to eat here again 🙂
Lovely meal, lovely place and friendly helpful staff - only wee thing was the prawns in the fajitas had shells on and as they are served piping hot were difficult to peel - otherwise loved this place and will return
Fantastic night , food fabulous, service fabulous, good atmosphere and staff did amazing for a party of 21.
