Great place to have a bite to eat next to our hotel. Stopped for breakfast and the menu offered a wide variety as well as good coffee. Lovely atmosphere, laid back and cool decor. Children had french toast with lovely fruit, partner had the manfull breakfast and I had delicious peanut on brown toast just as I like it ! Happy customers.

Hands down the best salad I've ever eaten and the staff are my favourite! Plus love hearing the quirky names of the meals shouted out.

This is the best place for sandwiches and not just your ordinary type i must make clear. Every ingredient/filling you can think of with the most extensive breads to choose from. Cant fault the food and been going there for years.

Fab. Too loud for easy conversation so just shout louder and enjoy the music. I'm fed up with polite decor, polite everything. The food here is creative, well-priced and appreciated. A simple scrambled egg roll for breakfast is just what you want. Not sure I would enjoy queuing or crowding in as there's not a lot of room but then again where will I find food this good? It's a dilemma.

Great sandwiches, lacklustre service. As it has been for years, WTMS is the absolute best place for sandwiches in Glasgow. The effort they put into their food is fantastic, which even the lacklustre service from the counter staff can't change (sometimes).

The coffee is tasty and very reasonably priced and the music is loud and heavy on the metal, though at times it can be too loud to have a conversation. Frustrating if you've went to lunch with someone and have to either shout to be heard or sit in silence waiting for your sandwich.

Overall, a great place to go. If you're local or from out of town, you won't find a better sandwich in Glasgow.

Great food and coffee, pretty unique menu and food selection. Gets very busy at lunchtimes so be prepared for a wait as the sandwiches are prepared.

The best thing about it has to be the food – otherwise why would I be talking about it?! The range and extent of the paninis and sarnies is staggering and I love the fact the menu takes up half the wall. The soup is also a treat and used to be my lunch of choice, unless I was going for a panini in which case I can chart my Monkey lunch career by way of a Lovely Nancy (Mozzarella, cherry tomato, basil, balsamic vinegar and olive oil) circa 2009, a Loggins (Goat’s cheese, chargrilled peppers, olives, red onion, pine nuts, sun-dried tomatoes, basil, rosemary oil and balsamic vinegar), 2009-10 and then the arrival into my life of all time yummy favourite – a Stoofa (Roast chicken, red onion, mayo, sage, thyme, balsamic vinegar and lemon juice) which basically carried me through until I stopped going after I went on a massively inconvenient but ultra cool diet. Monkey doesn’t have many candida diet friendly things on their menu but they are waaay to cool for that so I forgive them entirel

It was nice to get a chance to lunch in Glasgow, today, after a rather frenetic morning. I toddled along to Where the Monkey Sleeps, which I’d spotted and popped in for coffee after lunching at Babu Kitchen, a few weeks back.

Their below street-level premises combine a cafe and gallery space. There’s a good range of seating from window shelf, high tables, to comfy sofas. It’s both cavernous and really very smart.

Their menu is set out on chalkboards behind the counter. My eye was immediately caught by a bagel called the Witchfynder General. I ordered that and an espresso, then took a seat.

The bagel contained chicken, chorizo, smoked cheese, spring onions and shredded lettuce topped with chilli mayo. It made for good eating. It was accompanied by a nice little potato salad with very tasty creamy mustard dressing. It was an accomplished dish.

The espresso, from Dear Green, was very good, too.

So overall, I was very pleased with my visit to Where the Monkey Sleeps. It’s a lovely spot serving high quality fare. I’d be happy to recommend a visit and look forward to popping in again, soon.

Great little breakfast place! Reasonable prices especially given the high quality of food on offer, and very pleasant staff. The location is quirky, being a cellar but it doesn't feel particularly subterranean or claustrophobic, and the artwork hanging on the walls is a nice touch. For me the 'Manfosh' bagel was the perfect start to my day!

I went back for the first time in years, and was not disappointed. They make the lunchtime sarnie grab interesting, and a soulful experience. Different menu, and some space to hang out when less busy.

Very cool little place. Got a toastie, firewalker, and 2 sodas for only about $15 USD total. The toastie was our favorite!

Just eaten here this morning. Quirky little place with plenty of seating and a great menu. My partner had a man's bagel with bacon, cheese, poached egg and brown sauce, looked amazing. I had porridge with honey and it was worth the wait. Freshly made, creamy and delicious. I highly recommend a visit if you're in Glasgow.

Favourite sandwich shop in town! With a kind of underground / heavy metal style and feel, the extravagant dishes are named appropriately and the style is executed so well, not too over the top. The decor is amazing and it has little rooms where you can chow down and chew the cud in semi privacy. Even the toilet is entertaining! It is plastered with magazine cuttings and pictures, with the off bit of hilarious graffiti to boot. This place is where the cycle couriered used to hang out and you can still feel their presence, even if they're long gone from the corner of blythswood square...

One of my favourite places to eat lunch in town. Alright, so there's a bit of a queue if you come right in the middle of the lunch-hour rush, but it's worth it for the delicious bagels and other menu items. Apparently you can phone an order in as well which would save time. Prices are on the high side yes but you can still have an absolutely massive bagel / panino for £5 sit-in (or less take-away).

I was in for a take away order on a weekday lunchtime. I had a Meat for the Beast, toasted bagel burger that was fresh, generously portioned and tasty. The menu is pretty varied and so it's a good value place to grab lunch on the go.

Love this place 🤩. I'm not in Glasgow very often now but always call in when I'm there. The choice is great, service is quick and the sandwiches/paninis/bagels etc are *so good*. How can they get them so right, when just about everywhere else is just slightly disappointing!
