Really nice food. Pricing for drinks was a bit exorbitant but the great service made up for the cost for sure. They were even so kind as to make our afternoon tea vegetarian friendly at absolutely no notice because I was an idiot and forgot that I was bringing my vegetarian friend with me. šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļøšŸ˜‚ Lovely selection of nibbles within the afternoon tea and great value for what you get. The soup was also amazing. šŸ„° Would definitely come again and want to try their restaurant next time!

Quantities of food. The soup was really good. We got the leaks and the bacon did not see any bacon. Did not see leaks but the bread they gave us to put in it. I dunked it and that was a really good combination. The staff was really nice, courteous and a good answer. All of our questions that we didn't question them about where the leaks of bacon were.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon/evening and luckily found an empty table for 2 (it was quite crowded with reservations). Ordered Haggis Fritters, Olives & Bread, Sweet Potato & Chili soup, Pea Rissoto, and Steak Pie - everything was very tasty and decently priced. Also enjoyed some Scotch, a Scotch Old Fashioned (wasn't my favorite), and a Peach Mule. Service was so friendly, and atmosphere was wonderful. Would recommend for a big or small group - make reservations in advance if you can.

Bed & pillows were so comfortable. Staff were friendly & accommodated an early check in without issue. The shower was amazing! The toiletries were fantastic as well. Really enjoyed staying at this location & walked everywhere from here.

The butterfly and the pig was an unexpected gem in downtown Glasgow for two weary travellers from overseas. We were greeted with friendly staff, a huge space complete with plush couches, booths, or tables. The music was a mix of classic jazz, funk, and disco from the best eras and I was delighted at the amount of different theme days, high teas, and fun this place puts on either solo or by collaborating with other places nearby. The food is delicious and I highly recommend the raspberry and mango cider!

Definitely recommend this place. It's a cozy and beautiful restaurant. I loved the interior design and every small detail around the place. We tried traditional fish and chips, scotish steak pie, and sticky toffee pudding. All were delicious. The service was great, and the staff were friendly.

We arrived early so had a drink at the bar whilst we waited and it was a great atmosphere. They came to get us when our table was ready. Starters were delicious. Haggis fritters were so lightly battered and tasty. I ordered the gammon steak but changed the accompaniments but that was no trouble for them. The steak was delicious. Mrs had steak pie and the lumps of meat were beautifully cooked. We left suitably stuffed.

Dinner with husband on a Saturday night. A popular shabby chic bar and restaurant. Great service and atmosphere and the food was plentiful and delicious. A great location to catch up with friends or celebrate with family. Considering the current cost of living reasonably priced. Ā£25 each for a two course meal. Worth every penny. Looking forward to the next visit.

Excellent gastro pub experience with some of the best pub food Iā€™ve ever had for a very affordable price! All the ingredients and sauces are excellently paired with each other! The pork belly starter was excellent. Crispy and sweet because of its glazing and the dressing on the small accompanying salad. My colleague had the Butterfly and the Pig Burger with a gluten-free bun and really enjoyed it. Luckily we walked in on Sunday, meaning thereā€™s the Sunday roast special! The ribeye just sold out sadly, but the sirloin was also amazing! Also had a side of the awesome crunchy fried haggis balls. As a Dutchman these remind me of most gourmet ā€˜bitterballsā€™ from home, so getting a side of mustard worked perfectly with these! We are stuffed, but it wonā€™t hurt to have a look at their desert menu would it? Definitely coming back here! Wish they had some older whiskies available, but the Dalmore 18 kept me happy and was perfectly paired with my meal :). Update one year later (Nov 1st 2023): Came back, not on a Sunday this time. Started with sharing the haggis fritters, which were super fluffy and tasty paired perfectly with a peppercorn sauce. As a main, I had the seasonal Gammon steak while my friend took the chicken burger with a gluten free bun. Everything was excellent. The fries were cooked to perfection, the portions were almost too much for us and the staff was super helpful as always! Make sure to also check their website for their calendar of various events!

Atmosphere and decor gave a relaxing feel with couches. Like how they have sectioned off an area to eat with family and another area set up more like a relaxed bar. Wished I had more food but wasn't feeling well that day, but they had homemade soup, and I had tea.

Sometimes you wander into a place because the name is whimsical and reminds you of the (very) old days, and sometimes those places end up being your favorite restaurant for your entire visit. So it is with the butterfly and the pig (BaP). A bit tucked away, it can be easy to walk right by, but BaP should make anyone's itinerary for restaurants in Glasgow. The meat pie and salmon were absolute perfection, and the drinks were as delightful as the friendly and engaging staff. After eating out for the next 10 days, always a different location, BaP won out with it's amazing food, exquisite charms, and fun atmosphere!

Very fun and cozy spot for dinner and lounging! The establishment has two sides, the restaurant and the bar. The bar area has nice and comfy couches, so it is a great spot to bring friends. I dined alone tonight, so I sat in the restaurant by a window. The table actually had a real candle on it, which I thought was a refreshing break from other places that have the candle shaped LEDs. I ate their sirloin for dinner. It is actually a really thick sirloin, so make sure you are hungry when you order this. It was cooked perfectly and the taste was great. The sauce that it came with was what really made it so good. The fries and tomato were nice, nothing really unique about them. The main show is the sirloin in this dish, which was what I was most interested in, and as stated it was fantastic. The service is here is quick and they take care of their customers well. I will be back here before I leave Glasgow!

Not fine dining, but definitely good dining. The meat pie was good and they made me a special request non- alcoholic drink, no problem. Well priced, (approx Ā£ 58 for dinner and drinks for three), good and very friendly service. Dog friendly. They had an open mike night when I was there.

The Butterfly and the Pig is an excellent restaurant! The atmosphere is great, very cozy. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is amazing! Portions are large, could easily split a meal. We loved it so much we visited the tea room for breakfast the next day! We will definitely plan to eat there the next time we are in Glasgow.

The meat pie was fantastic. Sat in the upper room with a large group and had two staff members working with 17 people. They were friendly and quick. Offered excellent recommendations. I also had the toffee desert which was wonderful. Enjoyed a Long Island iced tea that was made to perfection.

Iā€™m not a fan for haggis but this restaurant is a nice place to try the Scottish iconic dish as well as the steak pie. My favorite was the sea bass and potatoes which were quite surprisingly tasty. You wouldnā€™t believe how can the potatoes be so delicious and keep wanting more šŸ„²Definitely love the old fashioned decorations here and the tale behind ā€œthe butterfly and the pigā€ was a genius idea
