My husband and I visited here recently and had a fantastic lunch. My husband had an incredible burger which came with coleslaw and skinny fries which were still crispy when they came to the table. I had pumpkin tortellini with tomato and sage, I could not taste any sage but it was still tasty. I do not think it was worth £14 as you only got 5 or 6 pieces of tortellini with 4 quarters of cherry tomatoes and some butter sauce and had to buy the fries separate. Staff very attentive and the place was clean.

I went to the Anchor Line with a group of coworkers for dinner, we reserved by phone, were professionally greeted on arrival. The place has several seating rooms, one of them has a bar ( looks great). We tried several of their plates: i tried the pork ribs which tasted great but had a very thick coating of bbq sauce. The prices are fine. Overall recommended.

It was a really busy night but the staff were friendly and helpful and knew their way around the menu. Service was quick and attentive. The food was great. Portions were huge. The Lobster Mac and Cheese was delicious with big chunks of lobster and very rich, a hint of truffle making it ultra luxurious! My friend had Fish and chips, could've been whale and chips, it was huge! My only criticism is it could've had some greenery. Desserts were Raspberry Creme Brûlée and Lime Sundae, both delicious and very substantial. We waddled out very happy and mellow!

There seems to be a check sheet for opening a restaurant these days, one which The Anchor Line may have looked at. 1. Restore a landmark city centre building - check. 2. Prepare good quality food - Yup. 3. Welcoming, relaxed atmosphere - yes indeed. 4. Overpriced little portions of pretentious food - erm nope

The building is very central right off George Square, the design and layout set the atmosphere perfectly. The bar area is classic and well laid out. Through in the dinning area the design continues with pictures and decorations fitting for the theme. The staff from the moment we entered were friendly and very accommodating. The food was excellent and they allowed time between courses to enjoy what you had eaten. There was a good selection of cocktails and spirits to find something for everyone's taste. We had chosen to eat earlier in the evening so our table was to be returned for the next service which was expected, before our allotted time our excellent waitress informed us that she would reserve us a table at the bar if we wished, a great touch. We had used itison for a deal so the price was very reasonable also. We enjoyed a great night of food and drinks and we will be visiting again

The history associated with this place is really cool. The pictures show lots of folks who started their trips in Glasgow off to NYC at the turn of the century. Additionally, the food and service here are really good. They make a decent drink here as well.

Lovely place and flame is nice. Nice touch with piano playing. Came here with friend for lunch but normally go to the Ivy. Service was just about same as ivy but the food wasn’t - much preferred the drinks and food! Was nice enough but felt like it lacked something.

Visited for a birthday celebration. Really enjoyed the experience. Staff were lovely, very helpful and clued up on allergens. Had a gluten free menu with lots of options which is one of the main reasons for choosing to visit. Opted for the mussels and fries which was lovely!

The restaurant is designed for luxury atmosphere. It is divided to only drinks section or for having a meal. We were offered to give our coats and umbrellas so we can sit comfortably. We started with the soup of the day which was made with leek and was delicious. We also ordered a Cesar salad with prawns which was very fresh and and tasty. For mains we ordered lamb and a filet which were very tender with a delicious gravy. The dessert was a little disappointing but it did not ruin the great impression of the meal.

Been several times for cocktails. You will struggle to find a better margarita. Not had food as yet but I've heard it is very good. The pianist adds a to a nice atmosphere and they open the windows on sunny nice days which adds to the atmosphere. Highly recommend. Thank you
