This place was highly recommended by our Airbnb host and we cannot thank him enough. The food here is very tasty and authentic. We had the methi kheema mutter which was perfectly cooked, moist and just right. I had monkfish and tiger prawns in tamarind marinade from the specials and was delighted with the result. The prawns were very fresh and tasty. Then we tried the Dal makhani, nothing wrong with it and last but certainly not the least we had the gulab jamun with vanilla ice cream and it made our day! Extremely soft, juicy and hot jamun with vanilla goes perfectly well. When you are in Glasgow please don't miss this place!

A personal favourite of mine. Particularly if like me you like to sample a lot of different variety of dishes. I always start with a chilli chicken dosa followed by some dahl lentils. Then chicken on the bone with another dish possibly a flavoursome king prawn dish for contrast. Their nan is very light. Fresh, tasty and never heavy. Be prepared to queue, sometimes up to an hour! But you won't be disappointed and well worth the wait.

Some of the best Indian food I have ever eaten. Came 5 years ago, and when I learned I would be returning to Glasgow this was the first thing I put on my to-do list. Service also excellent (although for this food, I'd tolerate just about any level of service.)

They have a cookbook for 20 - I bought a copy and can't wait to try this at home!

A great experience. 4-5 plates between 2 people is ample and you'll be feeling spoilt for choice given the variety on the menu. Everything was so tasty and it was clear this was Indian food done right. Great value for money and highly recommended.

MOTHER WONDERFUL!. I am not easily impressed (see other reviews) but every time I have been here (as well as its other restaurants) the food has been delicious and the service wonderful. I don't eat meat but the fish and vegetarian dishes are always perfectly cooked and infused with interesting and well balanced flavours. One of the best in Glasgow by far. You can tell that most ingredients are fresh - don't start making shortcuts Mother India, you really can tell!

A Tasty Tapas-syle Indians. I've had one rather satisfying experience in Mother Indias Cafe and I demand more. Unfortunately, I'm rarely in that part of town, but I'm safe in the knowledge of knowing it's there to fulfil my needs should I find myself stranded.

Not to be missed.

One of the best for Indian cuisine in Glasgow.. Definitely one of our favourite places for authentic Indian cuisine in Glasgow. The menu gives the opportunity to try a few different dishes as the portions are small and the prices low - tapas-style. Excellent!

Brilliant. Really really love this place. I tend to go with a group of friends 2 or 3 times a year, we have to wait longer for a table but we're all pretty patient because we know it's always worth it. Service is always excellent, dishes are amazing and the staff are spot on.

Great food, served quickly and fantastic selection of tapas style dishes. Makes it easy to try lots of different flavours. You cannot book ahead, so be prepared to queue as this place is popular. Fast table turnaround though, so worth the wait.

Quote - Better than my mums curry. One of my good friends is of Asian decent, and upon a recent visit to this establishment. I can quote him saying that the saag paneer was better than his mums home cooking. (Bet his mother probably disagrees) But after discussing this, he explained that home cooking is always better. This was the first time ever that he experienced some thing better outside.

After tasting the curry, I do agree it was good.

Point though - If his mums cooking is really this good, I want an invite over sometime...! (need to get some flowers or something)

Maybe there is something in the name of this place "Mother India" - Should it be "Better than Mother India" Lol.

There is no better Indian experience in Glasgow. Tapas style, it's a great place to go with friends to get a complete taste of the menu. No reservations means you will likely have to queue but it is worth the wait. It's good value and if you get tired of the wait for a table you can always carry out. No-one I have taken here has not come back.

The restaurant was full on a Tuesday afternoon. We waited for a table for a few minutes which was fine. Food was authentic and served as it was cooked. The lunchtime menu was great value plus we added in extra dishes. Highly recommend, we saw one bad Google review (which was rubbish) - go and see for yourself.

Ordered ahead to pick up a collection. It was my girlfriends birthday dinner and we both really enjoyed our choices. The server said happy birthday to my girlfriend which was a nice touch. He was genuinely interested in what we were up to that night. Would highly recommend this restaurant. We shall be back

I've had recommendations to visit Mother India and finally did it last night. There was an approx 30 minute wait for a table which was absolutely fine given the first come, first serve basis. Given the dishes are stylistically Indian Tapas a couple of dishes was a perfect amount of food. The Butter Chicken was a lovely combination of thick pieces of meat and worth the recommendation. The stand-out for me was the Lamb Karahi, it was excellent and cooked so very well. One Naan is okay to share between two however I would advise to get individual rice portions to make the most of the curries. Service was first class.

Consistently good food with smaller portions at the main Mother India allowing a mixture of dishes. The daily specials are amazing, and the fresh spices come through to deliver an amazing taste and gentle heat that builds slowly, allowing flavours to develop. Highly recommended and worth every penny.

I had paneer saag with naan and masala tea, and it was a warm balanced lunch of good price. Feta cheese in saag was lovely. I'd try dosa or tapas and enjoy the calm mood sometime again. Several vegan options. Decent place to recommend :)

Lucky enough to walk in and get a table, not long before the queue started outside. And it is now obvious why the queue formed. Why have I not been here before?? Amazing food and quick service, will definitely be back soon.
