An absolutely great place! We went in to have coffee and ice-cream and were delighted. The staff is very efficient and friendly, and the ice-cream is the absolute best in Glasgow (I had double cream, scottish tablet and toffee. Outstanding!). We definitely plan to come back. The only drawback is the very loud music. Everything is just great. There is a takeaway counter with cheese, pastries, deli,..
Celino's is the best Italian food in town, ordered their traditional breakfast full Scottish and it was yummy and delicious spaghetti aloo scoglio and celino's margrehta pizza was soo awesome
U know sometimes you enter a restaurant and you get good vibes, nothing to do with lavish interiors or grand entrance or an attractive attendant flashing that smile, nothing of all sorts but just plain good vibe that food is going to be good here, that's what i felt when i stepped in Celino's
We started with Macroni with a Mascarpone and red cheddar sauce baked in the oven - Classic Mac and cheese what we call it here, the cheese was still bubbling when the dish was brought,i seldom judge a dish by the looks but man this was something different. Must try a definite must try
For pizzas we decided to go with Ortolana but replaced aubergine with mushrooms.
The pizza was great, the toppings were generous but then again excess marinara sauce made the pizza soggy... well so be it !
After much debate we zeroed in on Nocciaola sundae and we were not disappointed with the outcome
Celino's is one of the places which i am yearning to visit again as there were so many dishes i wanted to try but my appetite gave in, would have loved to try their cold rolls and panini
Beautiful food, lovely service and great atmosphere. Highly recommend the lasagna and muscles. Good choice of wines and sumptuous fresh bread.
Celino's is a lovely little place.
Have been here for dinner a few times and tried some of the pasta dishes they have always been really nice. Service has always been really good and staff are always happy to recommend a wine to go with your dish.
Also, this is one of my favourite places to go for breakfast, the full fry up is Very good, it will hold you off till dinner time!
If only they were a little bigger and had more tables!
Simply the best Bolognaise. Mrs Guidi AKA Lena of the Vale Cafe Tollcross lives on in the spaghetti bolognaise here all I can say is give it a try.. A plate of Tuscany in Alexandra Parade I can honestly say better than anywhere in Glasgow or Italy. If Mrs Guidi were here today it is the only way there would be any competition. X
Staff Lunch 23rd February. Ordered take away from Celinos for our staff lunch today (35 guests). Food/Service was fab - in addition to the great food a big thanks to the staff in Celinos who kindly replaced a whole tray of Lasagne at no extra cost which was spilled by accident! How kind was that!
GREAT FOOD!. Just want to thank Celino's for the great food they provided for our staff lunch today 23/02/12, it was delicious and would definately recommend to my friends and family.
Amazing authentic Italian Deli/Cafe & Restaurant. We initially just went in for a coffee, that turned into having a full breakfast which was absolutely superb especially the Stornaway Black Pudding! After being shown the Evening Menu we decided to come back for dinner and I can honestly say that it was one of the best Italian meals that my wife and I have had. The staff were really helpful and this added to the overall experience. Not only is this an authentic Italian deli, but also a welcoming daytime cafe and a first class restaurant in the evening! I would recommend this to anyone who is fed up with the Italian chain restaurants that are all over the city centre and not very good....fantastic. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.
Dukan Diet at Celino. This place is simply amazing. I normally get frustrated at eating out as I am on a strict no fat diet. Celino is living proof that even if you are on the DUKAN diet which is tough, you can still enjoy good food and delicious flavours.
I'm going to recommend it to all that are on the Dukan as in this respect it's absolutely with no rivals. The staff is most helpful and will take care of your dietary needs. Not even Jamies does it that well.
Fantastic!. We have recently moved to the area and last night was our third visit - each time the food, service and general ambience was first class. Both the sea food and lamb specials were cooked to absolute perfection, and the pasta sauce tasted authenic and rustic. The panacotta is defiinatley worth a try - very light but very tasty!!
Could not fault the service - personal touch as we had been remembered from previous visits and chef came to our table post meal to ensure we enjoyed our food.
10/10 - and already booked our table for another visit in 2 weeks!
Wednesday Tapas nights are also a welcome addition to the Celino's experience.
Best in glasgow by far. After hearing my friends rave about this restaurant i thought i must give it a try, i am a frequant diner in places such as italian kitchen, amore, bar gandolfi and even on the odd occasion cameron house (5*) and if i was to give celinos a star it would be 6*. i will tell you why, i had the most amazing fish platter at a mere 17.95. and for this i recieved fresh langoustines, scallops, clams mussels, king prawns calamari halibut and trout. each piece of fish was cooked from the heart and i know this because seafood is my passion. not 1 piece of fish overcooked and the sauce was truley delightful. this itself does not justify 6* yes? but on my second return i had to endulge in the rack of lamb that was on offer this week. cooked to perfection with a jus-(sauce) out of this world. to top themeal off i took the panna cotta as desert, smartly served in a champagn fluet with the most melt in your mouth texture. in my eyes this place is truley an undescoverd sleeping giant about to explode in life
What a Great Place. Had heard about Celino's and eventually gave it a try. Couldn't have been more impressed. They obviously care about the food they are serving and the service was first class. We loved everything we tried and can't wait to go back to try some other dishes. Friendly, unpretentious with a sense of quality. The selection of meats and cheeses in the deli counter looked amazing.
Now open until 9pm Thurs - Sun
Great grub!. You've never tasted pizza until you've tasted a Celino's pizza..... and the deli counter is absolutely first class.
Celino's is a great place to eat. The food is top notch, authentic Italian coooking and the service is friendly and efficient. It's a cut above anything else in the area.
Phenomenal..... Quite simply one of the most exqusite deli/resteraunts in this fair city. The selection behing the counter of cheese, meats & breads is out of this world and as for the service....world class. Don't hang around, just get on down and taste for yourself
I am in love. I have just moved into the area from the Southside and knew i ws going to miss my favourite Deli 1901.
What a surprise when i walked down the parade and came across Celino's.
A VISION OUT OF THE MIST
Popped in and purchase a calzone and eye balled the delights in the chill cabinet.......
i am in love x
Fantastic. I would recommend Celinos to anyone. It offers superb food at very reasonable prices. The staff are first class. There is a real old school charm to the place, you can imagine sitting in Little Italy because of it's urban setting. It has an eclectic feel of interesting customers from every walk of life. Perfect for a coffee and cake or a three course meal. Take the family there any night and you'll all eat and drink very well without breaking the bank.
Owner Claudio is the perfect host.
Now open late!!. Fantastic food, great atmosphere and excellent value for money - the set menu available on Thurs, Fri, Sat & Sun evenings is a real bargain!!
Simply the Best. Best Coffee and rolls of Glasgow
Great Food & Friendly Service. If you are looking for great food and friendly service, Celino's is the place to visit. Had lunch on my last visit from Nova Scotia, Canada and hope to see you all again soon. Good luck Claudio with your extended menu and hours.
Celinos. Well done on the refurbishment, place is looking great. Food is as fantastic as ever.
Recently refurrbished, this.... Recently refurbished, this great Italian Deli now has proper seating space and a pizza oven. Great range of sandwiches to eat in or takeaway, or you can choose your own bread and fillings from the Deli counter. Pasta dishes in the fridge to take home and re-heat are good, as are the calzone. They also do hampers and outside catereing.Quite a good wine and beer selection, and try the garlic and chilli olives. Just wish they opened in the evening - they close at 5.30pm.
The restaurant menu changes from day to night & they also have lunch and pre-theatre menus. I’d recommend the penne salsiccia aurora, macaroni cheese, pollo milanese, pollo bianco, the soprano & focaccia. And the soups and pizzas are pretty great too. They have got Moretti on tap to wash it all down. Celinos is somewhere that I regularly meet friends for coffee or lunch. I have been so busy in January that I wasn’t in at all so the first free day off I had I popped in. Alan (the maître d’ or
Great cafe and deli. An institution in ️Dennistoun and well worth a visit. Filling foo, friendly staff and you can then buy it to take home!

Celinos is somewhere that I regularly meet friends for coffee or lunch. I have been so busy in January that I wasn’t in at all so the first free day off I had I popped in. Alan (the maître d’ or front of house manager) greets everyone like an old friend – it’s no wonder that he was a runner up for best front of house in the Scottish Italian Awards 2013. He is always on the ball and, working in a restaurant, I can almost see what he is thinking at times. Definitely a major asset to the place.
Anyway, Alan made sure I got a good seat & a drink straight away. They sell cans of San Pellegrino Aranciata so I usually have that or the blood orange one. When it came to ordering I really wanted the seabass with leek risotto that used to be on the pre-theatre menu & the head chef kindly arranged to make it for me. This is the type of place Celinos is – the staff working there seem passionate about what they do & have an understanding of what brings people back. They appear to genuinely care if you enjoyed your visit. Unfortunately this is not apparent in many places that I visit so it stands out.
I sat back and made use of the free wi-fi to do some blogging and the place literally filled up in minutes. During the day it is busy and bustling with a mixture of people.
My dish arrived and I was offered freshly ground black pepper. The seabass was cooked perfectly with a really crispy skin. The risotto was creamy and cheesy with a slight sweetness from the leek. Together it was a rich and indulgent mouthful & exactly as I remembered it.I noticed that the pre-theatre menu now has seabass with infused rice so I’ll try that next time if I can drag myself away from the pasta.
I ended the meal with a cappuccino & when I asked for a coffee Alan knew straight away that I drink cappuccinos. Even my dad who lives in Inverness talks about Celinos coffee. It’s strong, Italian coffee that packs a punch & wakes me up when I’m hungover or tired!
I paid the bill and forced myself to walk past the deli counter and not buy a big Italian loaf & goddess olives. Until next time!
(I’d like to make it clear that I received no payment for this review & I paid for my meal. I just rave because Celinos is my local & I have a great deal of affection for it!)
I've eaten at Celino's thrice this month and it's one of the most authentic Italian foods that I have ever eaten! Each experience has been amazing and the portion size, food and service has been on point. Definitely recommend!
Lovely place. Excellent food. Very busy and loud so good for large parties. Not a fan of the lasagna, but when you've had the best (italian mama) nothing comes close. Think you can sit outside too. Deli part delish but expensive!! Worth it tho.
Great atmosphere and fantastic food. Both the Gamborini & Lasagne were fantastic.
Cosy Italian spot in east glasgow with not only nice dine-in and take away, but also the perfect place to buy some yummy Italian goods. We got a ciabatta and a panini and they were so good! Defined would recommend, and i’ve we had longer in Glasgow, we would defined have visited more often.
have been a customer for over 23years and have previously written a review regarding your fab scrambled eggs which were the best !
However in Monday my son got us a take away and my eggs and toast were more like a battered up omelette I just assumed the chef had taken their eyes off and forgot to stir until it had set causing them to break it up. However on Wednesday I sat in for a full vegetarian breakfast with scrambled
eggs and again it was greasy and like a omelette broken up not your usually fab quality at all the waiter who removed my plate didn’t ask if I enjoyed the breakfast nor did the waitress who took my payment or I would have informed them no and the reason why.
Needless to say it has put me off returning

A very delicious stop on our tour of Scotland! We were too early for lunch, so we had breakfast! So delicious! Very impressed with the food, coffee, and service!
Nice Italian place with freshly cooked food. It has delie on site so you can stick up on italian cheese, olives cold meats or drinks. Menue is big with pasta , pizza , meats and two fish choices.
All starters and mains are freshly cooked. It does lack some seasoning, salad on the plate was dry with no dressing which is disappointing. Pizza base is fantastic, freshly maid, thin and so soft but crispy , very authentic. The toppings can be refined but generous. All drinks available and great vine selection from Italy. Tables are small and good, not a fine dining. Toilets definitely need some attention. They were converted into storage room with paper all over the place and not a pleasant site. Service is attentive and fast, and fair. If they make a mistake they will rectify it. Prices are on the higher end for the overall experience and area, but food is good . It can improve on presentation and some attention to detail
We booked for a 21st, party of 25 (ended up 19 due to last minute cancellations -sorry).
We arrived at 7.30 and the tabled was set and reserved waiting for us. Our table waiter was spot on (fantastic humour and very attentive) - told us he got a promotion - to 'chairperson', which he then insisted on helping some of the party in to their seats. His humour and many other jokes was spot on and made us laugh lots. This set the tone for the night. The food tasted great, portion sizes fab and we received amazing service - outstanding. The staff went above and beyond and nothing was a hassle. Children in the party were kept amused with plenty of drawing and colouring activities so no any wee moans or groans about being bored. Celino's allowed us to bring our own cookie birthday cake to 'toast' the celebration and they even went above and beyond by cutting it up and serving it out without purchasing desserts. Thank you for giving us a wonderful evening x We certainly will be back x x
Excellent pasta and super lovely service. The place was recently refurbished and looks great! The Gamberoni pasta is delicious. We have been a few times and always have the best time, fantastic Italian restaurant in Glasgow.
Great restaurant, food, service, attention and value for money. Relaxed atmosphere. We return often. Thanks again for a great night especially as it was my son's 18th birthday. See you soon.
Great little place which offers dine-in, takeaway and shopping options. Good sized portions and a great selection of fresh made pasta recipes, as well as an excellent wine selection.
Good food nice atmosphere friendly staff
can't count how many times I have been to Ceoino's, the food and staff are always great. Beautiful restaurant and deli counter. Brian the waiter is always available for a joke or two as well. I look forward to my next visit.
A go to local for me, lovely staff and a brilliant Italian deli. The food is solidly good, I love the pollo Milanese and pavlova, nice wine selection too. Would recommend making a reservation in advance.
Good choice on the menu and good quality food. Service is fairly attentive here.
Reasonable choice for non meat eaters. Would recommend booking at weekends or for larger parties.
Good location with on street parking available.
Brilliant deli counter, great food and service, and good value for money.
Have been before and will be back again.
