I was delighted with how great the food, the service and the atmosphere was in La Lanterna. I will be coming back and bringing my family for my graduation! The desert was out of this world fantastic!!
Honestly i came to this place just to have one dish and then move on to another restaurant as my friends were saturated with Italian cuisine. However since i had heard a lot about ravioli here, i promised them one dish and then we move on to try Greek cuisine, but as they say ...Promises are meant to be broken, and for this place, it was well worth it !
Obviously we began with Ravioli Novelli - Apparently this dish was named after some celebrated chef called Christopher Novelli who had won the title of Top Italain Chef in Scotland for 2013. As far as awards and accolades go, this restaurant has been voted as the best Italain restaurant for 4 years in a row from 2013.
After having this dish it was needless to say we charged on the menu and ordered other delicacies as well. Prominent among them was Crespella alla valdostana (Spinach, mushroom and cheese crepe in tomato sauce)
Deserts were equally good and we could not settle with just one
White chocolate with nutella was the best from the lot
Tiramisu came a closed second
Creme brulee & caramel cheese cake were a winner in their own rights
Chocolate mouse was the only let down for me as i dont prefer bitter chocolate , overall deserts were fab !!!!

Excellent experience that I wasn't really expecting in Glasgow. The ambience was warm and cozy, not fancy and cold. The food was fresh and well prepared. The staff took personal interest. Overall, loved dining here.
