Lovely meal with family for my father in law's birthday. Contrary to other reviews I have to say the service was absolutely brilliant, everyone was exceptionally polite and attentive...even apologising when we had to wait about 30 seconds to be served at the bar! The steaks we ordered were very good indeed, quite unusual as between the 3 who did order this dish we had one rare, one medium and one well done and all were served perfectly to requirements. The venue itself is delightful, clean and plenty of space at the table...not squashed in like other venues with a table of 6! Would definitely visit again ☺️
we were a party of 10 impressed as table was ready straightaway and had a drink in my hand 5 mins later food was amazing good choice of meats lots of hot fresh veg gravy etc desserts were impressive too even though we had arrived late in the day the desserts that were sold out were all replaced by something else
good decor and atmosphere cant praise it enough really top marks!
We had a lovely lunch... 7 ladies what could be better? Food was fab and service was excellent, we were really well looked after. Will definitely go again and will recommend. Thank you
We've been recommended to try the Grey Goose for a long time now - & today was the perfect chance to visit for a last minute 'wedding anniversary' Sunday carvery for 2
It certainly didn't disappoint the restaurant has a classy clean modern feel & the staff were ALL so friendly ... I can honestly say the meal was the most tasty perfectly cooked carvery I have ever had & the creme brûlée 'yum' - we will definitely return x
Thank you for hosting our retirement do last night.
Fab food and fab service.
You didn't disappoint in any way!
Well done and thanks to all the staff who made it a very enjoyable evening xxx
This gastro pub has always been a favourite to us for a couple of simple reason
They have great food, actually tasty , good quality ingredients cooked by great chefs
They have great service, with simply hosting and genuine service
They have a good product, nice tables,
They care, they make you feel welcome and they give good quality food and drink at a good price
And as long as they do that we will return and return and share with our friends and family
If you can go to this great place then do. You will always return
Thank you to Lois and Shaun for a lovely evening . Food was excellent and staff a delight.. Trip from Cheltenham was well worth it. Hope to see you again soon.
Excellent food, excellent service, really nicely decorated inside and a lot cheaper than I would have expected for such a nice gastro pub. Great 'british' menu including lots of game and seasonal veg, but with interesting twists. Had a distinctly 'michelin star' feel (or at least aspiring michelin star!) but with portions that actually fill you up and no pretentious attitude at all.
Great experience will definitely go again! Thank You!!
A fantastic restaurant, amazing food in a great setting and ambience. Staff are friendly and attentive and the quality and choice of food on the menu is excellent.
We had a lunch here today, 3 courses. Service was fabulous, food was fabulous will definitely be back here again. Thank you so much!
We went to the Grey Goose today for the Sunday carvery. It was truly delicious and offered so much more variety to the usual carvery offerings. The pork stuffing alone is worth another visit! Along with great service and great surroundings it made for a fantastic Sunday lunch.
Great carvery for Sunday lunch...
Although the knives weren't sharp enough to cut through the roast beef.
Very busy... So booking is a must.
Also very loud... Great for groups.
Staff were very attentive and friendly.
Definitely on the pricier end of the Sunday roast scale.
Lovely evening meal. Nice menu with good selection, food beautifully presented and well cooked, good portion size.
Felt a little rushed to get the order in at the start, we were asked about 3-4 times if ready for the order for drinks and food choices. Maybe a little over attentive at the start before the restaurant filled up.
Otherwise a great meal and restaurant to have nearby. Would return!
Panna cotta was amazing 😋
It's been a while since the last time we were here. But the Carvery didn't disappoint, ir was amazing, the beef cooked rare, turkey was juicy, and the pork with cracklyn amazing, then you have all 5 veg and potatoes...... Pudding was sticky toffee & ice cream 😋
Went here for Sunday roast and it was very good, especially the starters. I had the liver pate and my friend had the goat cheese souffle which was honestly the star. The carvery itself was nice, but due to the time we went (around 15:30), the potatoes had gotten a bit dry. The cheese cauliflower was excellent though, and the turkey was the best. Perfectly cooked and prepared.
The inside of the place is really well done - it's modern and updated without losing the charm of the old building. Drinks were fab as well -- highly recommend the passionfruit mojito. Would definitely be back here! Make sure to book in advance as it fills up quickly.
Delicious food and nice atmosphere. The smell of the restaurant as I walked in was great! The service was very nice and everyone is helpful and polite. The furnishings are great. It’s a great spot for a romantic dinner or a semi-formal o formal meal with friends. I would definitely go back and recommend it to everyone who likes good food. The steak is superb and the dessert is scrumptious!
You won't find the same menu. Being a vegetarian I usually have not more than two choices on the menu. But the choices are amazing. The staff is friendly and helpful.
It is an experience to dine at the grey goose!
Highly recommended!
Superb Sunday carvery with all the trimmings and excellent service. We arrived at midday for Sunday lunch with 11 guests aged 2 to 73. The warm welcome, friendly service and comfortable environment made us feel at home immediately. The carvery was £14 per head for adults, £9 for children and £4 for a mini plate. The food was superbly cooked with three roast meats, vegetarian alternative and ALL the extras - roast parsnips, potatoes roast and mashed, crackling, stuffing balls, giant Yorkshire puddings, minted carrots, apple sauce, gravy, broccoli cheese, peas, horseradish sauce and mint sauce. All hot and plenty of it. A great selection of drinks at the bar and helpful staff willing to assist even though things were very busy. Would recommend booking a table as it was very popular. Definitely recommend, an excellent pub for Sunday lunch.
Always had really nice meals here.
Have been here a few times before and will be back again.
If I was pressed to give a negative, the only thing I could say is that on our last visit one of the mains wasn't overly warm - but we let the waitress know and it was quickly rectified.
Had a lovely time with our friends. Service excellent. It was a catch up "date" so had lots to talk about and wasn't rushed off our table. The main meal wasn't quite so good but starters and puds excellent
We celebrated our wedding anniversary with a 3 courses. The restaurant is always very clean and inviting. The staff are friendly and attentive.
The food was delicious.
Updated review - The steak is still exceptional! The best I can get in the area im sure. Waiting staff were very attentive too. Definitely will keep coming back, as long as the bank balance allows! 😅
We celebrated a birthday party here in The Grey Goose’s private dining room! Completely blown away by the fantastic service from booking-in through to the food! Very helpful and polite staff. The food was very delicious with generous portions and amazing presentation! Would highly recommend The Grey Goose to anyone wishing to have a fab time!
Excellent eatery . Service impeccable, food delicious and spent a very relaxing few hours in this lovely place.
Really pleased with the service and the food! The staff were very attentive with a great atmosphere.
I would really recommend the Prawn and Chorizo risotto which was beautiful.
