The Angel - Gateshead - Photo album

Beautiful.. worth the visit. Even more impressive in real life. Easy parking, easy walk - and there was even an ice cream van in the car park when we visited - in October!
A definite go to if you are in the North East, and imposing structure that has a real element of peace and tranquility. Free parking which is a bonus. There are some pathways but to take the best photos you need to walk more on the grassy banks, these were very muddy in places. Not a large number of
The Angel of the North is a 208 tonne steel sculpture that is 20 metres high and 54 metres wide. You can see the sculpture from the A1 dual carriageway. Obviously, it's not easy to get a good look at the sculpture when driving or take any photographs, so it's best to head for the free nearby carpark
Our holiday would not have been complete without a photo stop at Antony Gormley's iconic steel artwork! We approached it along the A167 road. The parking area is small with limited spaces, but it's free, and there were not many visitors when we were here in October. It's a short and easy walk up a g
What a monument. Iconic, artitistic, thought provoking, and atmospheric. Close to main road links and good parking. Highly recommended if in the area.
This is one of the Best. Shouldn't miss out if your are visiting Newcastle. Just an hours less drive to The Angel of the North in Gateshead. Is so relaxing piece of Art to watch. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great sculpture by Anthony Gormley easily accessible from the A1M about 3 miles from Newcastle. The free car park also has two fast EV chargers.
One of the most recognisable sculptures in the UK. When driving into the north you must stop here to see it. There is a decent amount of parking and a nice path towards it, you will need to walk off-road to get in front of it to get a photograph.
Well worth the visit with an easy accessible car park right next to it. Most people drive by and don’t actually get up close but it’s definitely worth the extra few minutes to really get a good Idea and feel of what it’s all really about.
Fantastic location to enjoy the view of the immensely built Angel of the North. Good spot for walking as well as taking a break with snacks or brew! The cost was £800,000 to build in 1997 and has three purposes; 1. Reminder for the Coal worker over 200 years 2. For hope and fears 3. Find out by vi
The Angel is enormous! As I don't have good mobility and I struggle with walking and standing. I was quite surprised that the access to the Angel was easy and straightforward. There were benches n tables n a coffee n snack van there. Icecream van. And charging for Electric cars. What was lovely too.
The Angel of the North is a prominent and iconic sculpture located in Gateshead, England. Designed by the renowned British sculptor Antony Gormley, the Angel of the North stands tall on a hillside overlooking the A1 road and the surrounding landscape. It has become one of the most recognized landmar
What an amazing sight on such a beautiful day. Always wanted to come and see this. Although I did think it was on a hill in the middle of vast fields but turned out to be at the side of a dual carriageway (still on a hill though lol). Once you've seen it, there isn't anything else to do but take pi
Beutiful memorial. Could be done with some more more atmosphere like music, souvenirs shop or local information. Parking is Free but If You coming from Newcastle You can easy use 21 bus is running every 10 min 😉
Great place for photos and ice cream. Free parking. Disabled parking. Friendly staff, not. Best to see it when you're leaving Newcastle if you can slow down quickly.
Its powerful statue but its in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by highways, no caffee places nor anything, only accesible with car but worth seeing.
Great to visit on our the way up North. Our 6 year old loved getting out and stretching his legs. Would have been great if it had a toilet, so we had to go to a nearby Sainsbury's :)
Great sculpture, you can see on the picture the weldings everything's very rough and simple. A piece of History that I think deserves to be looked after in just a little bit better way. On the car park on occasions you gonna see coffee station and small van with ice cream but as far as I understand
