Been going to the Skiff Inn now for years every time we are in the Gateshead area, staff are always great and food is fabulous, never had a bad meal, place is always busy so it's a good recommendation can't ask for better than that, fantastic menu and everything cooked fresh, so much better than the frozen microwave stuff some restaurants class as food, I would rather wait a bit longer on my food being cooked properly than hear the microwave ping. See you next time.
Have ate at the Skiff several times. We've never had a bad word to say about the place. The food is excellent value for money. Would highly recommend to anyone.
The staff here are very friendly and polite service was great and the meals were excellent would definitely recommend this place.

1st visit today for Mother's Day Lunch. Was very busy on arrival at about 2.30pm (expected) was told 20 minutes wait for a table (again expected) however we were seated within about 5 minutes . Once ordered we waited approximately 15-20 minutes for our food and was well and truly worth the wait. Mam and me had the Roast Beef whilst my brother had Pasta. The Sunday Lunch was absolute heaven, the meat just melted in your mouth and taste was delicious. Brother said Pasta was nice but nothing special. Desserts were also delicious too. Staff were very helpful and friendly and gave great service. Overall a fabulous experience and will definitely go again. ���

Had a fab meal here last night and tonight - fab staff - would recommend it to anyone who stays at Holiday Inn next door - we love it and kids always have plenty choice of what to eat �
We were staying at The Holiday Inn Express next door and decided to wander to here.Was taken straight to a table and the service was quick and the food was lovely.Would definitely recommend to eat here
Went for Sunday dinner friendly staff and lamb dinner was the best I’ve had in ages will be back again
Been here a few times. Work do’s, my retirement, meeting up with grandkids. Once again, great food , great service and reasonable prices. A lot to choose from on the menu. Not been disappointed yet. Well presented , tasty and piping hot. See you again soon.
Decided to give this place ago after a few recommendations and it didn’t disappoint! We turned up at peak time on a Sunday lunch time and were seated straight away. Ordered a beef dinner which is unusual for me as I rarely eat a dinner out, I prefer my own but can honestly say it was delicious. We will definitely be returning.
Food was amazing, was not expecting it to be as good as it was. 100% come here again. Staff were very friendly, dogs are allowed outside only and will be provided dog bowls.
We went there just recently for a pub meal. It was really nice good portions and the food was cooked nicely. Steak was very good and loads to choose from . But on second visit it wasn't as good cold dry chips and we were seated in the conservatory which was so noisy i was pleased to get out so mixed review now . Staff are lovely

Amazing visit today! My dad wanted to visit with it being his birthday. We booked in advance and the table was perfect. The staff were attentive, friendly and funny, and the food was beautiful! It arrived maybe 10 minutes after ordering, piping hot and delicious. As a veggie, trying to find a good Sunday roast can be tricky, but it was beautiful (I had the nut roast), although looking at the beef on everyone else’s plates, I could have been tempted! Great prices and great atmosphere! Do not overlook!!!
Often pop in for food always really nice and service spot on. I had the corned beef pie and gutted I didn't take a photo because nobody will believe the size of it. The young man who served us was lovely. It was really nice to see a young person smiling and engaging with his customers, well done young man, keep it up.
Absolutely amazing through out. Excellent food. Staff polite and friendly. Would recommend The Skiff Inn. 100% Enjoyed every minute of it celebrating my son and daughter in laws wedding Anniversary. 😍
We went here to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary and we had a great time, the food was exceptional and the servers would go above and beyond for you with no questions asked. The portion sizes are amazing.
Great local pub, which can get pretty busy, popped in for drinks a few times, good beer and service. The nice gentleman I think was called Papa Joe was great. The food looked good, so we tried it and it was awesome, the chicken Parmigiana was good value and a very large portion.
Surprised my daughter (there were 11 of us) for her birthday. The food was delicious, as always and the staff were friendly and helpful, wven helping my mam with her wheelchair. Never had a bad meal or bad service in all the times we've gone there.
Excellent friendly welcoming atmosphere. Staff very pleasant and helpful despite eating at end of shift. Food excellent freshly prepared and cooked good size portions local fresh vegetables very tasty. Good value for money. Great welcome back following day when only called in for a drink. Good to see and speak to owner and observe staff being treated well at end of shift
Long weekend in the Holiday Inn Express, just up from the Inn, we had two meal’s which were delicious and good the . Staff are very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back. Tom & Linda, from Lanark
Always a warm, friendly atmosphere. Never had food here but it always looks and smells incredible and plates going back to the kitchen are pretty much licked clean!
Decent selection of beers too 👍🏻
Very busy pub/restaurant, no indoor seating available for 5 when we first got there but it was lovely outside while we had a beer or 2 waiting for a table, great menu..most had starters and mains bit I just had the minced beef and dumplings with chips and it was absolutely delicious and great sized portion, also the others commented that they wished they'd ordered same. Can't wait to go back and try something else as all meals looked amazing and big portions..I've only recommended food I saw in the day in our group but everything that was served around us looked amazing
Expect a warm welcome on arrival, ideally situated a very short walk from a few hotels in the area and I can assure you they serve much better food. I ordered the mixed grill and as a big eater I was ready for the challenge but was really struggling at the end. The steak was cooked just how I’d ordered, sausages very nice with the nice addition of black pudding and a beef burger that really makes a mixed grill for me. Everything was lovely and I had no room for dessert although they looked amazing. Prices very reasonable for the size of the portions and the staff couldn’t do enough to ensure everything was to my standard. I was pleased to see they had two locally produced real ales on my visit which seemed well kept. I will certainly be visiting again.
What a fantastic restaurant, largest menu I have ever seen. We ate here three times during our short break at the hotel across the road. The food is outstanding, the staff are all lovely and the atmosphere was great too. Would 100% recommend.
