An excellent restaurant - simply a must when in Gairloch. I visited this evening with my partner and his mother, and we had a great time together. The venue is very relaxing, with gentle lighting, plenty of seats (both inside and outside) and it's clear whoever has made the playlist that was on has excellent music taste, too. When we first came in we were greeted by friendly and happy staff (including the restaurant's owner) who did a great job of making us feel at home. Even though a couple of bits were sold out as we appeared late in the evening, this wasn't a problem because we were recommended some excellent dishes in lieu. The food was incredible! Everything was flavourful, brightly coloured, and presented beautifully. My personal favourite were the ribs (which were sticky and tender), but we shared all the dishes and I truly couldn't fault any of them. There was a slight spice to a couple of dishes, but this added a much needed kick without overpowering the food. Overall, I'm writing this review with a full stomach and a content attitude. It's been a pleasure; thank you to Anji and the team for your excellent service and food :)

Holy smokes! Everything was exceptional, the food, service, atmosphere! I’m pretty sure it was the best food that I ate for the past few years of my life, it was that good! 😋 The staff is just so alive and friendly:) Definitely coming back some day although I live 3 hours away (by plane) 😌

They earn the high rating through friendly service and excellent food. The jerk chicken is some of the best i have eaten. You will feel like old friends and will definitely want to return. When leaving i saw the rib on the grill and they looked amazing... will have to try them next time

This place is truly a Highland gem. The food, atmosphere and service is absolutely impeccable. On our first night in Gairloch we arrived after a very long journey and went straight to The Black Pearl. My partner had done some research and was excited to try the Caribbean Creole style cooking (in particular the slaw). As someone who doesn’t do spicy food I was unsure of what to order but went for the jerk chicken cheese burger with new potatoes. The owners were wonderful, very attentive, and more than happy to discuss our food choices. My partner ordered the ribs with slaw and rice. We settled in with some delicious rum punch and soaked up the friendly, relaxed atmosphere. The food arrived very promptly and was unbelievably good. I made a bold statement, and I stick by it…this was the best burger I’ve ever eaten. The flavours were just perfect, not overwhelmed with heat and spice, just a wonderful balance, every dish was delicious, the ribs melted in the mouth too and the slaw was exquisite. I had the rum and ginger sticky toffee pudding as desert and it was to die for! We went back there again this evening (we couldn’t resist) and every morsel was immaculate. My partner had discussed the curried goat dish with the owner earlier in the week and despite this not yet being on the menu, they were more than happy to provide. He’s had curried goat in the past and it’s always been too spicy, this, on the other hand, was perfect. The food was so good that we ordered additional take away after we’d finished our meal so that we could savour more dishes when we had room. Absolutely amazing food, amazing people and an all round wonderful food experience. If you get the chance to go, it’s a must. If I could give it six stars I would!

What a gem in Gairloch! Noticed its up for the Scottish Street Food awards and no wonder. Spent the last 7 days doing NC500 and partner and I both agreed this was the best meal of the holiday! Ribs were unbelievable and the sweet potato bites were 10/10. Dog friendly, really nice outside area and staff couldn't be friendlier. Couldn't recommend enough if in the area.

We popped in for lunch, and it was SO DELICIOUS we had to go back for dinner the same day! The jerk chicken and bbq ribs are outstanding. The sweet potato nests are ridiculously good! The rum punch definitely lives up to its name! The owners are delightful and lovely and have created a really fabulous experience. I felt like I was on holiday in the Caribbean! We will be returning again and again. Don't miss it!!!

Just amazing. Really warm welcome when we arrived. Great menu with plenty of options for vegetarians. We opted for takeaway because we were staying in the area and have a big dog ;) but the dining in atmosphere looked lovely. Food was ready in a very short time and we LOVED every bit of it. We'll definitely be back. Absolutely delighted by every aspect of the experience. Thank you.
