A country pub that serves gourmet food in traditional suroundings. Not only was the food superb (we had slow cooked belly pork with CRACKLING) with everything cooked to perfection, the staff were delightful, very attentive without being overbearing. The menu was such that choosing was not easy - every item was appealing. There was a good range of beers, a super wine list including cocktails and desert wines. Although not cheap, the bill was much lower than expected and was excellent value for money. Although it was quite a long journey for us, we will definitely visit again and we very pleased to recommend the White Hart.

Popped in for lunch today for the first time in 30 years when we lived locally and could go more often! Food and welcome from staff was excellent and the Virgin Bloody Mary was delicious.!! One of the best I have had the. The meze platter & fish platter were superb.

Absolutely delicious birthday lunch. I normally choose the slow cooked pork belly, but today I opted for the roast beef for a change. I wasn't disappointed. The meat was so tender and served with really tasty selection of vegetables, treated with as much care as the beef. Also enjoyed the very unusual goose bresaola starter and warming gingerbread dessert. Still my favourite place to eat.

Always exceptional food and service. Sunday lunch on New Year’s Eve was one of the best meals of 2017. Certainly the best soup (parsnip and apple), and the tenderest beef.

Another wonderful meal at the white hart. Food as always was superb. Highly recommend to any one. A regular choice for special occasions for a nice 3 course meal, I only wish we were able to come more often!

We celebrated our 28th Wedding Anniversary on Saturday at the White Hart with our very best friends and everything was excellent, the food, the service and relaxed atmosphere. Once again the old place did not let us down.

Come hear for a last minute meal with my parents and loved it! The steak was amazing and cooked to perfection!! My mum and dad's pork belly looked fantastic and must have tasted just as good as they haven't stopped raving about it. I can't wait to come back and try something different on the menu :) thank you!

Delicious food and wonderful attention to detail in every aspect of our meal. Attentive service and every plate a delightful feast for the tastebuds. This visit was for our son's 18th (we appreciated the little birthday touches) and we will definitely be back.

As usual an 11 out of 10 for my meal tonight. Restaurant looking even more lovely dressed for Christmas. The food is always good, this time, the softest most tender steak, yum. If you also then add in helpful, professional and friendly staff, then you get the whole wonderful picture.

We had a delicious time at this week’s Dinner Club, the venison cottage pie was the most gorgeous cottage pie we’ve ever had. All the staff treated us wonderfully, warm, friendly and professionally from the moment we walked in the door. Thanks for a great midweek treat.

Lovely building and great service. High quality food, quite pricey. Delicious sharing boards. Menu perhaps a little limited if you were to go regularly as it doesn't seem to vary much.

Absolute gorgeous place . And good is out of this world. Didn’t had space for the desserts but next time definitely coming here to try that desserts tasting board 🥰 love the service as well, guys are very down to earth and with the good sense of humour. I am glad I discovered another great place for a good food near my area.

Amazing place. From starters to desserts the food was excellent and refined. The staff was also lovely and the atmosphere in this old building was very pleasant. We really appreciated the time we spent there.

I celebrated my birthday in January there with some friends. And I’ve returned here last weekend. Everything was great, the food was amazing then and now. One thing what I suggest to pay attention to the toilets… they are pretty grim.

Excellent restaurant. Messe board starter was perfectly warmed and the main course very well executed. Personally, I did not like the beaf butter with the bread, but it might appeal to others.

We sat in the pretty garden on a hot sunny day, trying (with moderate success) to stay within the shade of our umbrella. Drinks, thank goodness , were served promptly (including a generous jug of water); food (the set lunch for one of us, pizza for the other) took a little longer (there was an event being catered for at the same time). When it came, my companion's squid starter was piping hot; plump and juicy squid with a crisp, crunchy coating and tasty dipping sauce. His beer battered fish was equally good, and yes, the chips were "proper" good too. The peas had been tarted up with mint and the tartare sauce lived up to expectations. The only downside was my pizza. I'd seen the huge wood-fired oven and in my excitement, gone a bit rogue (I'd never normally choose pizza) seduced by the woody smell and the promise of truffle honey amongst other things. However my heart sank when a piece of chilled dough was sliced off a bigger lump, squeezed through a mangle and yanked into a vague round, scattered over with toppings and shoved into the fire. The result was as expected; an unyielding, dense crust (no time allowed for the yeast to work its magic). The excellent chilli oil I poured on top went some way towards lifting things but if we return I'll stick to what they do best and leave pizza making to those who know how.

THE BEST ROAST BEEF WE HAVE EVER TASTED!! We really wished we lived local, as this would of been an amazing local to have. The foot was honestly outstanding. We chose to have a roast and a dessert. Everything was top notch. If ever we are back this way then we would not hesitate to call in.

Always great food and friendly service. The team are very welcoming and even gave us a little card and brownie bites for our anniversary which was a nice touch. Have been here quite a few times since we moved to the area and will be back again for more!

Super place. It was a great half way meeting point for the two parts of the family to meet. The reviews were all spot on - this is a special place, worthy of the high praise. Food was excellent, good wine list. The team at the White Heart know food, drink and what they’re doing. Well worth a visit.
