Went here on the spur of the moment for a weekday (thursday) lunch. They were busy. It was a good sign! The food was all cooked from scratch (or at least tasted like it). The atmosphere is friendly and comfortable, the food was probably one of the top 3 best meals I recall having eaten!! I love my food. This was very tasty "fancy" pub grub with the decent portions so I left very satisfied. The meal was perfectly cooked (fresh veggies, real custard and who would have thought "pork belly and black pudding" would be such a gastronomical delight!)
Definitely a highly recommend!!!
We popped in today for lunch. What amazing food and lovely place. We will definitely be returning to try more off the menu. Would recommend people give this place a visit . xx
Had the absolute pleasure of staying here on Saturday (13/5/17) lovely room looking over the courtyard, superb bed, very spacious bathroom, in particular a very deep bath,( had to make use of). We had booked a table for diner, ( a must)
was not disappointed at all. exactly what is said on their web site, locally produced food. Although this is a pub we felt we were in their home. The service was quick and very obliging. Great wine choice as well, we had a bottle that was recommended and it did not fail. So I have given five stars but would like to give more. Will definitely stay here again.
Went there for our sons 18th birthday group of ten, all our food was gorgeous, very tasty, pudding where lovely, portions sizes great. The staff where very friendly and attentive, relaxing evening. Would recommend it and definately go again. Thank you

Visited yesterday 31/10/16 with my daughter for a Lunchtime treat..My daughter had the Ploughmans and it was excellent..all the staff were very friendly and attentive..we have been numerous times and are never disappointed..always recommend it to friends..�
We come here regularly for family get togethers and celebrations, and visited today for my brother's 30th birthday meal. We just wanted to say a big thank you, the food as always was spot on, but the way you looked after us, and especially my 2 year old little girl, was above and beyond. A lovely afternoon! What a lovely place for a meal. The food was fabulous and the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much to ask. Didn't feel rushed - some places are wanting your table for a second sitting, increasing their covers. Nice feeling - thank you 😀.

Very much worth the hour's drive...best tasting food I have had in an eatery in a very long time.
It's been a little while since we have dined at The Hare & Hounds, we took advantage of some free time and called for a table for Sunday lunch.
Very Impressed with the service and staff, as a Gin drinker was so pleased to see a great selection of boutique brands .., though a Copa glass would have made it exceptional (NB A burgundy glass works well if you don't have them) Hubby equally pleased that Timothy Taylor Landlord was on draught.
Portion sizes were very generous , each one was served at the appropriate temperature and full on flavour. It was also nice not to be rushed with just the right time between courses
All in all ..a lovely afternoon. Hope it's not as long until our next visit.
Divine food, amazing service, beautiful surroundings and the staff even sang happy birthday and put a candle in dessert. Would highly recommend for those who enjoy quality home cooked food.
Thank you for a lovely Sunday roast lunch for my daughter's special birthday. Don't think any of us could fault one single thing. And the candle in her dessert and the staff singing Happy Birthday was fabulous.

We visited with friends for Sunday lunch. Very tasty carvery with freshly cooked vegetables in ample supply. Deserts were very appetising and the apple crumble was delicious. Lovely setting. Would recommend 😁
Went for a lovely Sunday roast. Great selection of food, including a couple of options for kids. Deserts were also fab. Interior is lovely and staff were great. A couple of cask beers available as well. Also went for a little stroll around the picturesque village. Would definitely recommend and will be returning when back in the area.
Previously visited for drinks only and waited ages to dine here. The food was worth the wait. Portion sizes were huge. Massive variety on the menu to please everyone. Delicious food it was really was so tasty. Highly recommend. Beautiful outdoor area.
Gem of a pub. Your quintessential ideal of a country pub in fact. Hearty food, tastefully and efficiently served. Bangers and mash with classic local fare. Great beer and on a sunny day the tables outside are glorious.

Sunday dinner is always popular, and for good reason. The food is great, the portions are ample and service from staff is higher than you’d ever expect at a local village pub.
We ate here 2 days ago, it's a beautiful country pub, very sympathetically decorated ,and very welcoming. It has a pleasant outside seating area .
The food is superb I had the sea bass ( fish of the day) in a wonderful sauce, it usually comes with sauté potatoes but I asked to replace those with fresh vegetables, and they were excellent, fresh perfectly cooked as was the sea bass.
My husband had the chicken schnitzel, only complaint not enough garlic.
Try the Key Lime pie, this is the most authentic KLP I've had in a restaurant outside Florida, delicious.

Didn't start overnight this time, but have before. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Food is excellent, I have eaten here several times and never been disappointed with the nosh. In a lovely village, with a stroll around.
Nice pub. Didn't eat, as we just dropped in for a drink, but the menu looked good.

Only went for food which was lovely. Can say about the hotel part. But the bar and food area is nice and clean and staff were nice and helpful.
