We regularly stay at this beautiful hotel in the centre of Frome. Location is perfect for us when we go to events on at the cheese and grain/visit the monthly market. The staff are always so lovely and welcoming they really make you feel like nothing is too much trouble. The rooms we’ve had have all been spacious, clean and tidy. We often have our evening meals here when we stay and the food has always been superb! The burger is a firm fave and a must try. All in all a great hotel and pub. We won’t stay anywhere else 😊
Fantastic hotel!
After staying here for three nights, I was able to extend my stay a further two more nights.
The hotel is situated in the middle of the Frome with plenty of local shops and a local market down the road.
The staff was super friendly, they went above and beyond to make sure I was well looked after. The menu had a nice variety of food and they were able to cater for all my dietary needs.
The room facilities were spot on the bed was super comfy
Highly recommend staying here, for business or pleasure stays
Perfectly located on a main road in Frome, we have stayed several times at this fantastic dog friendly hotel, each time in a different room. The en-suite rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean and the beds large and comfy. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Our nervous dog settles very well and enjoys the fuss and treats the staff give her. The food is just delicious and good value. We had a special celebratory meal for a group of us and the order was spot on regarding the various dietary requirements. We’re looking forward to our next stay in a few weeks and sampling the new menu. The free secure parking is a bonus. The hotel has run events to support charities and hopefully our next stay will coincide with an event or one of their popular quiz nights.
Great visit, staff friendly and a nice relaxed atmosphere. There's some tired areas but nothing too offputting.
Younger serving staff seemed confident making conversation with customers makes this one of the better pubs in Frome. Beer was good and they have sport on. Made for a decent night out.
Lovely hotel!
Me and my mum stayed there for 5 days and the staff were friendly, helpful and approachable.
The meals were delicious as well, especially the full english vegetarian breakfast.
Special thanks to the cleaning staff, the rooms were immaculate and comfortable.
Would recommend this hotel to everyone, travelling with families, friends or alone.
We’ve found the best hotel in Frome! The staff (Wayne and Lexi in particular) are so lovely, it’s bang in the centre of town and what a great selection of food! Best vegan dish of 2023 was found in the Cauliflower Steak with Caponata
Thank you so much guys, we’ll be back next year ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Perfect place to stay in a great location. Staff were welcoming and friendly. We had both evening meal and breakfast which was of a great standard. Our family came with us and all thoroughly enjoyed this visit - we will be back x
Friday night in Frome.
The George is sat in the middle of the high street and as newbies to Frome you are looking for somewhere to eat drink and enjoy your evening.
From the outside the place looks like fun.. once in its simple
The bar staff are amazing .. very welcoming and great value to each customer.
Lots of choices of drinks .. Ales, lager, Gins etc
And we had some food , reasonable prices and the food was very pleasant #pubgrub
If back in frome we would return .. give it a try
Good value rooms with everything you could want. The shower was hot with good pressure. The rooms are not over the pub and whilst our room looked over the main street, we had a very quiet and peaceful night. Good bed and a good night's sleep. Can't really comment on the breakfast as we skipped it but it looked decent and generous. I'd stay here again.
Bang in the centre of the town and a good location for the Cheese and Grain. It's a brewery pub, so mostly Wadsworth beers. Rooms are good in an authentic old fashioned way, and the breakfast is good.
We had a lovely weekend break here. It was a great base so we could explore the area. The staff were brilliant, nothing was to much trouble. The food was great and had something on offer for everyone, including picky kids.
Arrived to this lovely little pub/ hotel.
Wasn't expecting a boutique style hotel,,
But I was amazed at how comfortable the bed was,as both me and my friend are fibromyalgia sufferers.
A lovely night sleep.
Not really bothered about decor,if you want that, you go 5 star and pay more.
Rooms clean enough for me,love my little tea tray in my room too.
Orderd food around 6 pm, plenty of time for a few vodkas, food absolutely fine,as expected by price.
If you want 5 star go to a very very posh restaurant.
A traditional little pub, varied menu, enough choice just for one night.
Enjoyed our little stay, and will book again soon x
Nice food, pleasant staff, but the dining room is very close to the bar where large screens had the football on and there was a lot of noise. Football is great, but not when you're trying to have a nice, quiet dinner, hence 4 stars.
Great experience for a family function; we were well looked after by Chris during our stay. Attended for a function in the evening and stayed over in the hotel also. Room was lovely with good facilities and all of the team couldn’t do more to help us during our time in Frome. Thank you Chris & team
