What a find. Great food love the small portion option for the mains. The food was superb and was ample. Good selection of real Ales. Nice touch that no children in the main bar area. Plenty of other place within the pub for families. Walkers pets welcome. Must go again

Amazing place. Nice beer and food. But the staff are the best thing-amazing! Me and my friend kinda got our timings wrong and it was about to get dark and we were due to get the train from Grindleford. If we walked we would have been in trouble. Harry who worked offered to drop us off at the train station. And he did! Legend! Thanks again. Amazing service. Cheers guys

A wonderfully warm welcome on Christmas Day. Hot chocolate 'n cream for me, beer for them and even gluten free mince pie for his pops. Perfect. Menu looked delicious too, nice veggie options. We'll be back.

My son and stopped at The grouse inn for some lunch on our walks around the peak District. I had muddled meats salad and my son had vegetable soup which he loved. There was a roaring fire and a lovely welcome to the wet and windy weather. Lovely little find.

Good and fast service! Plenty of tables inside and outside. The fish and chips was not great, the fish was a bit watery, and without seasoning. But the other people loved their dishes. The cheese salad was not what we were expecting but was pretty great and very well served ☺️ The Wi-Fi didn’t work 🙁

Just called in for a couple of pints on Sunday lunch. Very busy. The steak pie smelled delicious. Intend to go there one weekday lunchtime for pie!

Fab! Always good food and beer here and the views are spectacular. Plenty of parking. Management could think about growing some more bushes on the left side of the garden to block the road noise, that's the only improvement I can think of. The staff seem more friendly than last time I came which is great, and the young ones are definitely making an effort to provide good service. Overall, a wonderful country pub in one of the nicest areas of the Peak for hikes and climbing. A gem!

One of the highlights in the peak district. If you want great atmosphere, friendly staff and amazing food you won't be disappointed at The Grouse. The pie is always amazing, a great boost after a day hiking or climbing. If you want something lighter, the brie wedges and fried squid are devine.

Really great food as always. Nice relaxed atmosphere and a good choice of drinks. Perfect for after a walk, great for sitting out on a summer evening or next to the fire on a winter day. The specials board is always changing and definitely worth looking at. If you like your fish and chips then its the best batter we've ever had. And the steak pie of the main menu is a great go to.

Great food. Prices reasonable. Sometimes a bit of a wait. Don’t provide butter and some other standard condiments without asking.

After a 15km walk along the surrounding paths, we decided to eat something at the Grouse Inn before heading home. We ordered a large Cod and Chips, medium Steak and Ale pie, an Onion Rings and a Ice Cream Watsit. Everything was outstanding. Crunchy chips, tender fish, tender beef. Quality, presentation and service 5*s. Thank you very much! Will be back.

Always worth a trip out to The Grouse. (Our Nanan Ellie, bless her, loved it!) The road is closed but access can be gained from the Fox House / Owler Bar direction. Great pint of Banks's.

Great food! We’d been for a nice walk nearby and found The Grouse Inn and stopped for a meal. I had the Ploughman’s Lunch and my wife had the vegetarian Lasagne. These were both VERY nice. We followed it up with pudding, naturally! A nice place, good staff and great food.

Had originally planned to stop here half way around a walk but it hadn’t opened yet. Instead we drove to the pub after the rainy walk and had lovely hot meals, even the small portions were plenty! The pub allows dogs inside which was a nice relief although we were directed to the back room which was equally nice as the front. The steak pie was amazing with very tender meat. The Cod was also a nice meal. The Treacle Sponge and Brownies deserts were both delicious.
