Five of us came yesterday for father's day x had the Sunday best roast and it was the best Sunday lunch we've had anywhere x the staff were brilliant great service x definitely come back again x
First visit last night and was very impressed with both the food and the staff. Extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. And the food was lovely, second best gravy I've tasted (after my Dad's). Will definitely be back soon.

We came for Mother’s Day lunch, they catered for ten of us, nothing was to much trouble, they were very attentive and the food was excellent! Thank you very much x
Really good atmosphere and an amazing roast dinner & the deserts are to die for! I really enjoyed the gin of the week too it, really good evening especially with the pub quiz!

Nice little find in a residential area. My husband said the beer was too nice and he had fight the urge to down his pint quickly. The consevatory restaurant area is nice and light and comfortable. We had Himalayan steak which we all agreed was delicious. This photo is minus the mushrooms which should come with it. I don't like mushrooms, but I loved the chips!
Their own brewed beer is good!

A little longer than usual to wait for our food, but it was well worth it for the meat eaters. All fresh vegetables, good sized roasters, nice amount of meat and great tasting gravy. Daughter's nut roast not very good though, odd taste and very slimy. She didn't enjoy it at all. They redeemed themselves with the pudding selections. Definitely worth another visit.
Beautiful pub restaurant. The food was delicious and tasty. It looked nice and tasted great. Definitely worth a trip.

I am highly disappointed from my recent booking today 5-3/23 at 12pm. My gf booked online for 2 persons. We were seated in the dining room , not the conservatory which was kinda ok initially although the decor felt like a holiday inn room. The Meal came quickly yet we were expected to share 1 tiny platter of veg and a small ramekin of cauliflower cheese, thought the server would bring the next portion of veg but nothing came . How is a single meal the same veg and cauliflower cheese for a couple when it’s double the price ? My dinner was not enough of a portion either.
If this wasn’t bad enough that our dinner wasn’t fully equipped we had the whole football team next to us drinking eating crisps , swearing , shouting , my girlfriend being pregnant is not something I want to be around or expect when having a roast dinner in a dining area.
Not once did the server offer to move us , check on us ( my dinner needed more gravy , where as my partners was swimming in it ), we were just left there. I couldn’t even speak to my partner during our whole meal and couldn’t wait to leave. The ambience was of a social club not a family dining. This was our first time and we are local residents and will not be returning or recommending.
I would of complained whilst I was there but I just couldn’t wait to leave and the bar server wouldn’t of been able to hear me and I didn’t fancy shouting across the bar to explain my dissatisfaction. (We had to fight our way through the people at the bar drinking and queuing to get anyone’s attention and pay)
I paid £34.35 for this disaster.
If you are out with mates then it’s ok to drink but with a partner or kids avoid like the plague

We attended today and were sat in the conservatory part !!
This made a massive difference - the customer service was awesome and the food and atmosphere was much better !!
Based off this experience I would now recommend this place and will come again with my partner !

Such a gem. Lovely to see so many locals in. Beer excellent well kept. Food excellent as well. Lovely see a skittle Hall also a piano in the bar area for those inclined. A must visit
Opted for the Himalayan steak, however, it was very tough for a medium rare steak, compared to one served here 3 weeks ago!!
Menu selection was very good and specials board updated as service progressed. Fantastic choice of beer from Hop Union, with Maiden Voyage a favourite.
Lovely friendly country type pub with a good choice of food freshly cooked and served with a lovely choice of vegetables. Nice selection of unusual and popular desserts. Friendly and efficient staff made this a memorable occasion and we will certainly return!
Quite frankly outstanding! I simply do not understand why/how we have lived in Stoke Gifford for 38 years without discovering this 1st class pub/eatery until now when it was recommended by a friend.

Can recommend this place 100% Could have chosen anything from the menu. I went for the gomemade Lamb pie. Lovely village pub. The sweet board was fantastic. I had the pear and Amereto crumble with custard and ice cream as I couldn't choose.
A proper pub. Staff are friendly and welcoming.
Beer was excellent.
I will be back soon.
We all had lovely meals the three of us,good service,lovely in the conservatory, what's not to like well done, certainly be back.

Very good food , one of the beslt pub food i ever had. Higjly recommend the pull apart pork burger with sweet potato fries and fried halloumi cheese

Rising sun in Frampton Cotterell, the service is great and the waiters/waitresses are very polite and helpful, the music selection is exceptional. We had a great time, we would definitely recommend to others.
