We stayed for 3 days days and can only say ( what a gem of an Inn. ) The atmosphere on our arrival after an 8 hour journey was so welcoming. Their evening menu , all home cooked was most welcome after a day out hiking and the breakfast was to die for. We will be back . Thank you to you and all of your staff.

Awesome friendly little pub, views over the estuary, just by the railway station - very welcoming. We stopped for Sunday lunch, which was gorgeous and very reasonably priced. They’re a CAMRA pub with loads of real ale, and a fab selection of whisky & gin too. Worth a visit

Our favourite local. No juke box, no generic bland drinks. Real ales on draught, numerous bottled beers from around the world, plus whiskies, gins etc. Amazing home cooked food - you must try the pasties. Stunning views and sunsets. Letting rooms. Child and dog friendly. Foxfield train station right opposite.

One of my favourite pubs to visit. Living on the other side of the country it's a rare treat for me to come here, but I look forward to it. Stuart and Linda are superb hosts, great beers and excellent food in such a friendly place. Well worth the journey.

Warning: Cash only! There isn't a cash machine handy nearby either, otherwise, this place is brilliant. It's exactly how I like my pubs, no pretence. Just great food (once you decipher the extensive menu) with generous portions at good prices. A large selection of whiskey and cider. There was a selection of beers on tap and what I had was well kept and tasty and, as far as I know, they brew their beers on site. The staff were friendly and welcoming, as were the patrons. I will be coming again.

This place has it's own microbrewery and the quality of the beer is reflected in that. It's fantastic real ale, both home brewed and brought in from elsewhere. For food, the pasties are amazing, but they are cooked to order so expect a 40 min wait. More time to enjoy the beer though. It's a bit spit and sawdust inside but if you love good real ale, it's perfect.

Not much to look at from the outside. But don't be fooled, the brewery is round the back. The staff are friendly helpful and informative. This pub has a fantastic selection of beers home brewed and bought in, a bottle stock that would take you a week to get through. Whiskey's well, I counted over 25, and around 15 gin's they also do a grand assortment of soft drinks and mixers. A great find and one I will definitely be returning to. Food looked good , but I didn't eat on this occasion

Wonderful little pub. Food is absolutely fantastic , cooked to order so takes a while but is well worth the wait. Staff are super friendly and the locals are welcoming too. Nice selection of beers and whisky , with reasonable prices . The menu , although difficult to decypher , has a wide range of different foods and plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. There is not much parking and make sure you BRING CASH as it is a cash only service. One of the best little pubs in Cumbria. Well worth the travel..

One of the best pubs in Cumbria. Excellent selection of cask ales and whiskies and huge hearty portions of rustic gravy based home cooked pasties and Yorkshire puddings, always with vegetarian options and sometimes offering vegan choices too. It'll be a sad day when Stuart and Linda step down from the helm.

In my humble opinion, one of the best old-time pubs in the country. Some beers brewed on-site, always a good choice of cask ales, with usually a stout & mild on offer. Very tasty & filling own-produced food available, known as " beer blotters".... no chips or lager!!!
