Visited Captain Hanks whilst staying in Fowey for the week - twice! As it was so unbelievably delicious and so up my street. I love seafood and can honestly say Captain Hanks does not disappoint. The ingredients/produce were so fresh, house made dressings and sauces were so well seasoned and flavourful, overall you can tell the owner has very high standards for her little business. To top it off the view of the harbour is a stunning backdrop. If you’re visiting Fowey this is such a gem, highly recommend!

After reading a lot about Captain Hanks, crab and snack shack in some publications and on social media so I decided to make a special trip down today. I’m Cornish born and bread and I’m passionate about food. I also held UK braai champion. (yes, I’m a Food junkie) and this boy can cook… I decided to order crispy cockles popcorn, halloumi fries and coconut cod cheek tacos. After placing my order, I sat on dockside, drinking one of Holly‘s lovely apple juices, and then indulged in a coffee, the atmosphere here was lovely. Great music playing in the background families enjoying themselves whilst eating (great seeing kids trying and enjoying sea food!) and couples enjoying an alcoholic beverage with their food. after 12 to 15 minutes The food was ready. What can I say about the food? Absolutely out of this world!!! fresh local sea food with fantastic taste explosions !! and in no way greasy at all, everything cooked perfection… I will be coming back for more from Hanks menu!! Congratulations holly for creating such fantastic local street food at very sensible price and all this with friendly staff and fantastic atmosphere…. If i could give you more than 5 stars i would as personally i think your food is better than some of the top sea food restaurants in cornwall….

Captain Hank’s is a food van that serves dishes on the edge of the harbour. But when those dishes are cod cheek tacos, grilled scallops and Cornish crab sandwiches with one of the most beautiful views in Fowey, it is well worth the journey. Brilliant and one of the best.

Food was incredible. Sole was a standout. Seafood poutine is a must! All coupled with a cold pale ale. Happy days.

Outstanding and delicious! The fillets of lemon sole were so fresh and tasty. We also had the prawns and crab sandwich and again you couldn’t fault. How this lady manages to produce this quality from her immaculate ‘shack’ is testament to her high standards and making sure the customer has the best experience. The location is perfect too alongside Fowey river with beautiful views. What a way to spend a sunny afternoon! Fantastic vibe, service and food!

Captain Hanks is an absolute MUST visit if you’re in Fowey! Absolutely delicious food in a really beautiful setting! We enjoyed delights such as cod cheek tacos and monkfish flatbread whilst looking over the picturesque harbour. Service was warm and friendly and very swift considering how busy they were! I will be sure to return when when next in Fowey, thank you for a truly memorable lunch!

Wow what an amazing treat. Reviews looked good but we called in by chance. Location fab. Service fab. And the food out of this world, fresh and full of flavour. Can't fault at all. Will be back soon.

Amazing food from a van. Really elevated basics with punchy flavours. Good choice of drinks to go with. Slightly difficult to navigate with certain food allergies and needs, but if you’re able to eat anything, then I’d definitely recommend coming here! Such a good little location tucked away from the hustle and bustle. Fair prices. Seating is limited so get in there quick!

My girlfriend said the crab sandwich was the nicest she has ever had! Nice little spot to grab some lovely light food and watch life on the river

Absolutely brilliant high quality food from a small van. Had the grilled sole and chips which were both stunning. Tacos looked great as well. Was about a 40 minute wait for food but it was worth it and we arrived at about 12:30 so no surprise. Number of picnic tables to eat at or sit on the harbour wall.
