30/9/2023 - Saturday. We just arrived in Fort William. We stay in Travelogue, where this Black Ysles Bar is literally just next to 1 minute walking distance. We went there for something light. Once we entered this bar/restaurant, the servers were very friendly and helpful. Though, their concept is self-order. I can not manage to order from their scan code. Finally, the waiter came to help me. Direct me to the bar counter to place my order with them. There are more than 20 different house beers. Which was very impressive to my husband. My husband ordered one of the house beers. The taste is very smooth and to me. It smells like having a peach. I do not drink alcohol drinks. I just had a sip. The pizza is delicious. Overall, we both are very satisfied and happy with their services & their food. Thanks to the waiter for taking my order. Sorry, I have forgotten his name. My husband & I really enjoyed our afternoon in this bar/restaurant. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This place has a lovely vibe, and great pizza. There is indoor and outdoor seating, some with views over the loch.
The pizza was really good and I would've given it 5 stars except it took a while for pizza to come out, and when it did, my Margaret is was quite cold. (Flavour was good, but it was disappointing to wait for so long to have it be cold - not even just warm.)
For facilities, the toilets were clean and there are local car parks nearby.
It was initially very confusing how to sit and order food as there were no signs indicating what to do. This is basically a self-seat and self-serve bar and restaurant which is actually pretty cool. I would recommend a sign stating what the customer should do and it would alleviate all of this confusion 👌
The pizza was absolutely delicious, there are few to none customization options. The beer was good. You pay up front at the bar. The pizzas were a little on the expensive side but I was not upset at the food quality!
Quite beer orientated with food on the side. My partner and I don’t really drink so a few more alcohol free wines or beers as an option would have been nice but there were plenty of soft drinks to choose from.
The pizza was nice with some interesting toppings and more varied choices than the average pizza place. The goats cheese pizza was a little on the greasy side but still tasty.
Given how busy the place was, service was reasonable.
Atmosphere was lively but quite loud. From a business standpoint this doesn’t make sense as the high noise levels overwhelm the senses making the food not taste as good.
There was a nice seating area out the front and the views of surrounding hills were nice from most places you sit.
If in the area I would visit again but wouldn’t go out of my way to come here.
Amazing restaurant with a cozy atmosphere, good music. The restaurant is well designed, and is located in a beautiful spot. The pizzas are delicious and unique, and I would highly recommend getting the garlic bread as well as it is amazing. Fair prices. The waiters are friendly and kind.
They have many gluten free, vegeterian, dairy free and organic options.
Getting a table was a little bit of a challange, as you need to "catch" a table by yourself.
Overall, great experience, and great food!
The first pint after a big hill always hits different, but my reviews always control for such variables. First up, the beer here is good. They have an impressive number of house beers on tap, and some interesting guesties too. And they're served in super cute glasses so extra points for that. The vibe is spot on; open, climbing art, nice iron beams, high vaulted ceilings. I managed to prevent myself from scaling the structural supports, but it was tempting. And lemme tell you about these pizzas. Superb dough, and the competition is stiff these days. Extra extra points for original slash unusual topping options on the menu too. Like leek and caramelised onion, which is obviously what I had and it was a belter. Good vegetarian options. Friendly staff. Excellent tunes.
Visited on a stop off on our road trip after searching for our of season options in the area for lunch on a Monday. Staff were really friendly, venue was pretty cool but we visited when it was really quiet and out of season so can't comment on the atmosphere in peak times. Pizzas were nice but wasnt the best vegan cheese and probs a little bit too much of it.
Great pizza, although not cheap, but worth the money, stout is tasty, staff is friendly, toilets are clean, the place is nice. It should be taken into account that the order must be made by yourself, but this is indicated on the table)
Lovely place to stop for a drink and a tasty pizza! The inside has a great decor and the outside has a great view. Around £5 a beer but they are tasty!!
A great and funky craft beer and pizza place. The interior is fabulous, spacious with an amazing bar. They have a very big selection of craft beers. We had a few (to be honest I didn’t find one I liked, but they have a wide selection). We didn’t have the pizza, but they looked good and everyone seemed to be enjoying them. I did think they were quite expensive; almost London prices.
