Just lovely. called in for dinner after a long walk on the beach. absolutely amazing. Ordered the new burger with mac and cheese and the fish and chips. both where amazing. desert was great. childrens meal was such good value for money, my 7yr is still going on about the size of her yorkshire pud!!! will be back for the steak and ale pie soon
We go quite regular to the cross house Formby, and can honestly say we have never had a problem with anything, the staff always have time to chat making sure that All is good.
It's great to see Jill and frank back in charge, we had our party there a couple of years ago, and everything was spot on, we'd recommend cross house to everyone. Great place. ��
meal was very good I asked for gluten free and was given lots of help by Kate to choose I had the Salmon and lovely fresh veg with a nice glass of white wine I enjoyed it very much last time I was there I had the risotto the verdict is I will be going there again .
Been here a few times now and always had a lovely experience. Would recommend to anyone . The food is amazing and staff are friendly.
I can't praise this place highly enough. We have visited twice now for lunch and it has been nothing short of excellent. Good food, a relaxing atmosphere and a lovely warm and friendly welcome from the staff. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Staying here with my dog, storm, in our campervan. Had a great meal and a few drinks. Management and staff are very attentive and friendly. Most importantly, the place is fully dog friendly.

We like to drive around and find different places for lunch.. we have now found a new favourite! As soon as we walked through the door we were greeted by the girl behind the bar who told us we could sit anywhere that wasn't already reserved. The place is stunning with gorgeous quirky decor with a great outdoor area too. Food was served piping hot and was delicious. We ordered the sharing nachos for starter with an added topping of BBQ pulled pork it came and it was huge could easily have done 3 people and the pulled pork was the best I've had. Thank you for a lovely experience, we will definitely be back x
Met a friend for lunch and there were only a handful of customers in there....but it was nice and clean and the young guy serving was pleasant enough.
We both ordered the pie....one of us had the chicken and ham and the other one had a steak and ale pie.....and both of them were well presented and very tasty!! The meal came within a reasonable amount of time and the guy came back to check everything was ok and if we wanted anything else. He also came back after our meal and asked again if we wanted or needed anything.....which believe me.....doesn't happen everywhere else!! So overall it was a very enjoyable lunch experience!
The new outside area is great with several booths all with heaters and a large canopy / heater area for larger tables. Drinks range has improved too. A great pub to watch the match with plenty of screens. Food looks good but haven’t sampled the new menu yet.
two friends and myself visited this pub today for the first time. I was accompanied by my guide dog and my two companions were also severely visually impaired using white canes for mobility. The staff were just wonderful dealing with blind people. They were incredibly empathic and very helpful. Sam, one of the bar staff gave my guide dog 2 Boneo treats. The menu was read to us. Nikki helped myself and a friend in the right direction to the loos. And they even took the time and the trouble to walk us around to the bus, stop and cross me over to the bus stop on the other side of a very busy main road. I cannot praise Nikki and Sam enough. If I could give more stars I would. It’s just a pity five stars is the optimum score. I really recommend the pub. The food is absolutely lovely and the drinks also. Very reasonably priced. Lovely ambience and fantastic staff. I can’t say enough positive things.
Always a great welcome, at the Cross House. I have lived in Formby for 2 years now and seen quite a few changes to this place, with a great refit a year or so ago. It's bright, warm and the staff are friendly to me and my dog. A favourite in the area!

Absolutely an amazing place stumbled across it on our way home from the beech, food was flawless. Staff are lovely, and the place itself is beautiful, plenty of seating and love how dog friendly it is, was a great end to an already great day. 1st time visited but will most certainly be back again and already look forward to telling all my friends and family about it.
Partner and I visited for Saturday lunch after spending the morning at Formby beach. Very aesthetically pleasing interior and exterior. Although our visit was during a hot day, all the outdoor seating had heat lamps so suitable for colder evenings/months. Good size free car park also. Option of ordering online through the app, QR code on the menus, was moderately busy but good and drinks came within 10mins. Wide drink selection and food was lovely. Very friendly staff too. Highly recommend !
Great location … dog friendly throughout.. pint of Guinness is amazing!!! Even get a clover on my pint!! And so are the cask ales … staff are very friendly .. small plates are to die for you would be stupid not to come here
Food was good, enjoyed the peace until a large group came in and it became a bit rowdy.
I had the super grain chicken salad and it was amazing! Great atmosphere and the service at the bar and table were both excellent. Friendly staff and gorgeous food.
Stopped for lunch in the beer garden & had a really tasty meal!
I had hunters chicken & switched the chips for the rosemary sea salt fries which were delicious! Salad really nicely dressed & the tastiest chicken smothered in bbq sauce, bacon & really cheesy.
They even had a dog menu with the option of chicken, steak or sausages & a dog water station.
Really helpful service. Would definitely go again!

The outdoor space is good, and there is plenty of car parking, and a great range of ale and lager.
Great pub, great location. The staff were very friendly and allowed us to stay the night in our motorhome in the carpark. Had a lovely meal and some drinks. Would definitely recommend
