My family have been going to Chapter and Verse for well over a decade now, and while the menu has evolved and theres been a few refurbishments the quality of the service has always been top notch! All the staff are so welcoming and nothing is too much bother! So many birthdays and celebrations have been celebrated there! Including my recent graduation... If you're looking for an amazingly varied menu and a relaxed evening then definitely visit.

Just had the best lamb korma ever here. The owner came over to our table and spoke to us after our meal. She was wonderful and we truly appreciated that. Going back later tonight for the music!
Went for an evening meal 24/11/17...all 3 of us chose a curry...I have to say it was the best curry I have every tasted. Would definitely recommend. Staff were fantastic too.
Visited yesterday for high tea and highly recommended. Lovely setting, friendly staff and food was delicious. All fresh and bursting with flavour. Menu had a wide variety and even catered for my picky son by altering his meal so that he got rice instead of chips. Will definitely be back.
We had a work night out here and really enjoyed it. The menu was really good with a great choice for everyone and the food was lovely, we all enjoyed our food. The service was great too, we were made to feel very welcome and not rushed. The prices are very reasonable and we would definitely go again.
We recently held a 90th birthday party at Chapter & Verse and were absolutely thrilled with the service we received. The food was delicious and there was more than enough to feed the 30 guests we had. The function room was a perfect size, allowing space to move around whilst remaining a cosy atmosphere. The staff couldn't do enough for us and went above and beyond at all times. We cannot recommend it highly enough for a function, all of our guests praised it highly and we cannot think of a single fault. Thanks again for making it such a lovely experience for us.
My partner and I both had a 3 course meal last night here and really enjoyed it before we headed off to the cinema in Dundee.
The menu is really good with a wide variety of choices and the food was lovely which we really enjoyed.
The service was fantastic as we were made to feel very welcome and not rushed.
The owner took time to go through the specials with us and explained in detail the ingredients in each dish. They were very accommodating with our requirements to add or take out certain ingredients that we requested.
The prices are very reasonable and we will definitely be back again.

My friends and I had the Xmas dinner and it was delicious. Varied menu options and staff had a good knowledge of the menu. Great service on a particularly busy night. Well done for giving us a brilliant meal, Merry Xmas!

Popped in for a drink and a bite to eat. We weren't really fancying a big meal. So the very helpful Brad recommended the new Indian Tapas. We absolutely loved it. Will definitely be back. Thanks again x

We had a lovely high tea. Service was excellent and my elderly parents could have a reduced portion size and they were still a very good size. Great selection of cakes scones meringues etc. Very reasonably priced too

The food is fab here. I had jumbo chicken goujons which were freshly cooked delightfully soft real chicken. The veg was absolutely fresh not frozen. The chips however were not freshly chopped but they were OK..
The steak pie is awesome too
The service is really nice too. The restaurant is very nice inside. If you are in a hurry it may not suit because food is cooked to order. But very comfortable to sit and wait anyway. The price is really good value for money too.
Haven't been in for a number of years due to moving from the area. Extensive and varied menu. One of us had breaded Haddock and the other roast Sirloin of Beef. Both meals had generous portions, and both dishes were delicious and modestly priced. I would thoroughly recommend Chapter and Verse to you.
Tried a takeaway from here for first time. It's the best food I have had in a long time. I have never had food in the restaurant but always looks nice inside, I would definitely return for a meal. Delivery was also quick. Portion sizes are very good, It is the best in forfar.
Food was great. Only about food was the actual serving we had ordered 8 puddings and they came in 3 lots. Everyone was finished but the time the last 2 puddings came.
One staff member wasn't friendly but was efficient- barely cracked a smile. The actual waitress for our table was lovely and friendly and happy to take a photo for us.
Mu hubby is picky with hot chocolates - he had 2 and they were both excellent.
Have not been here for years but we've heard about the excellent menu including Indian Cuisine that's on offer.
We chanced it and didn't book. Quick and simple staff were attentive, Cokes all round and ordered Food.

My husband and I ordered curry with nan break, salad and garlic bread. Doesn’t sound like a ton of food for 2 people, but we had to box half of it up! Large portions and amazing food. Thankful we have another evening to enjoy the food!
I had the vegetable curry with Nan bread. They have several currys to choose from, and the one I had was excellent and had just the right amount of spice. The nan bread was great too. I highly recommend dinner here when in or passing through Forfar

Last minute visit after a swim and really glad we chose here. Menu is extensive which we were concerned about to be honest as seemed too large to be fresh....but curry's section was most prominent so we went for this and really enjoyed it! Little boy got a pizza and chips option from their kids menu which was freshly made and tasted great too. Saw someone having fish which also looked great. We will definitely be back.
9/10 dishes are spot on. Plenty of choice on food and drinks. Also fab for a take away, nice to have more home style as a delivery.
I highly recommend this restaurant. They are only friendly and attentive but they also made sure to cater to any food restrictions/allergies. I felt welcomed and valued as a patron.
(The venison was so tender and the sauce complimented it perfectly)
Visired here with my sister today and cannot fault the place in the slightest! The food was delicious, generous portions and good prices too! The lady serving us was polite friendly and helpful! Will definately be back!
